How many items am I allowed to carry on to a Tiger Airways plane?

The website doesnt provide clear information about carried on luggage. So how many items am i allowed to carry on to a Tiger Airways plane without any additional charges? Can i carry one small luggage weighing no more than 7kg with dimensions of 54cm x 38cm x 23cm, and a small backpack instead of a laptop?
Answer: You can have a maximum of 2 bags weighing a total of 10 kg but no single bag can be more than 7 kg and dimensions are as you state above. So yes, you can take a bag weighing 7 kg and a small backpack weighing up to 3 kg.

It is known to be very difficult to get through Tiger Airways hot line. Did there someone successfully make a call through before? how?
Answer: hi pal, i agree... i faced the same problem. They have shifted thier plane scehdule and I have a certain issue pertaining to our flight to BKK. Called from 9am till evening. It is either engaged or keep holding. After what I have gone thru, here is my advise. Call after 7.30pm as I did chk with the officer as when is the "non-peak" period. Be prepared to hold the line for 30min or so... Hopefully u dun use yr mobile phone. Waste $$. I called using office spkr phone and hold on till they answer. Up to 45 mins or more than that. By this time, make sure u hold your patience. *** I lose my patience each time I call :P

im flying from singapore to bangkok by tiger airways and this my first time taking a budget airline so im wandering how is it and how is the budget terminal also?? And when boarding the plane does lots of passengers run for the plane as i heard there are no seating assingnment??
Answer: Flew with Tiger Airways several times last year and found that they were excellent. When I flew, there was no assigned seating; you can, however, choose your seats when you book by paying a fee of S$5 for an ordinary seat or an extra S$25 for an exit row seat with lots of legroom. The Budget Terminal at Singapore Changi Airport is very basic to say the least, but considering the cheap fares being offered in and out of the terminal, it is sufficient! There are some long distances to be walked when you arrive as there are no aerobridges or escalators, but this stays true to the name of the terminal and what it endeavours to offer to the airlines utilising the facility. The onboard service, while incomparable to Tiger's part owner Singapore Airlines, is sufficient and you come to expect less as the cost of the flight is so minimal! Flight attendants pretty but not quite as efficient as their SIA counterparts. And, as for the food, prices are very reasonable but it's still nothing special. Have a good trip.

Answer: Its cost strategy is keep it as low as possible by cutting out all frills. No designer uniforms for its stewardesses, no multi-course meals, only simple meals, no free-flow liquor, etc. Cost is kept to a minimum in order to enable charging the low fares they do to remain competitive. Let's hope that cutting costs does not include slacking on airplane maintenance, cos in the long run, it's going to be more expensive for them. SIA can charge the type of fares they charge cos they provide a different product and people are willing to pay for it. You get what you pay for. Put another way, pay peanuts, get peanuts.

Answer: I doubt you can sell them because usually airline tickets cannot be transferred because they are in your name. Since you made the mistake, you will either have to pay the additional fee or just not use the tickets. I am sorry about your luck.

Is 1.5 hours enough time to transfer flights from Continental to Tiger Airways in Hong Kong?

Our family of four is flying from the US through Hong Kong to Singapore. Our arriving flight is scheduled to arrive at 7:05PM and the departing flight is on Tiger Airways at 8:30. Tiger flies from Terminal 2 at HKG. I am wondering if anyone has experience making a connection to Tiger in HKG. The check in closes "strictly" 45 minutes before departure, at 7:45PM, so that means we have 40 minutes to clear customs and get to T2.
Answer: I would say that this could be extremely tight, and leaves you very little room if you incoming flight is late or delayed from the US, you are simply not going to make this connection. Your options are to get an earlier outgoing flights from the US, or a later Tiger flight from HKG, or stay the night in HKG and fly out the next morning.

Has anyone flown with Air Asia or Tiger Airways?

Im deciding which airline to use. I am flying on July 3 from Singapore to Phuket. Air Asia costs $100 and Tiger Airways costs $110. Has anyone flown with either of these airlines? How was your experience? What are the chances of a delayed/cancelled flight? Also, how many carry-ons and check baggages are allowed and what is the weight limit?

For AirAsia's free baggage allowance: You may transport free of charge checked Baggage up to a maximum weight of 15 kg subject to the conditions and limitations contained in our Terms & Conditions. Answer: Tiger Airways is a budget airline, which means it's going to be a little more no-frills than a regular-priced carrier, but you get what you pay for! That said, it's actually a pretty great little airline -- for a start, it's owned by Singapore Airlines, which is one of only five five-star carriers in the world (many claim it's actually the best of those five), so you know the standard is going to be good from the start. The safety record is impeccable and the plane is comfortable enough, and usually on time. I'd certainly recommend it, especially for the price you'll pay -- if it gets you from A to B safely and quickly, it's all good, right?! That's just my two cents -- I've flown with them from Singapore and had no problems (and I've flown many of the other low-cost Asian carriers as well, including Jet Star Asia and Air Asia). For more opinions, you might want to check out Skytrax, which ranks and rates all the world's airlines, and provides a forum for passengers to leave reviews.
