how to check my summons and warrants using my fin number in singapore?
when i am in overseas i can check my LTA fines online , HDB fines online, URA fines online, but if the fines( which i forgot to pay ) have changed to court summons or warrants it will be transfered to traffic police department. so how to check my summons or warrants online ? using my FIN no or VEHICLE NO.?

Answer: I am not too sure. But if you are talking about the external area, LTA is the Managing Agent for these type of mall. I am not too sure if they have outsource to private sectors to run the show for them. Basically, URA just developed the Mall and LTA should be maintaining it

Answer: Please don't listen to the Monk, he's confusing Chassis with Frame. Chassis has always been the body. And the two identifying numbers of the VIN are Chassis number and Engine number.
In answer to your question, NO! In Singapore you can not modify a vehicle to that extent It took them about 10 years to recognize spoilers. It reaches absurdity to the point that a friend of mine, years ago, got in trouble by replacing the windshield of his Model T with laminated glass.
Remember we are talking about the country that originally outlawed the third brake light because it would distract the following driver.
Having said that you could find the expertise to accomplish what you want but it will not be registered for Singapore roads.

Discrepancy in transport satisfaction in Singapore?
A recent survey by the LTA showed that 9 in 10 people are satisfied with Singapores transport system, but a recent survey by Sullivan and Frost showed that 8 in 10 people are dissatisfied with it and Singapore is actually ranked 18th among 23 cities in the survey! Which survey really shows the satisfaction of Singaporeans? And if you can, please give me your opinions about the transport system!

Answer: An LTA survey tend to have leading questions. And sometimes if it is conducted by a government body, people tend to give answers to not offend. Unless the survey can show its interviewees to mirror the national profile of the country in terms of age, income, it will not be accurate.
A global survey is more representative. I think the way one should assess is in comparison with other countries. In some countries, public transport are quite non-existent but then they make cars cheaper. However, petrol prices may prove to be exorbitant. I know in Germany, they pay twice as much as Singapore. But the car is half the price. Yet a car is more convenient than public transport. And taxis are really expensive. They don't have an MRT equivalent system either.
people in singapore have also lost patience. In the old days, I often wait 30 minutes to 45 minutes for a bus service. It takes me 1.5 hours to travel from Siglap to Circuit Road. We had no MRT. So from a past comparison - yes, it's been far easier today to get around. For those who chose cars and ERP, well, you actually have a choice in public transport. A car is a luxury product here, not a necessity, so whatever it is, you end up paying for it. And public transport is a good quality alternative here in Singapore. Ask any foreigner.

The first question did not be answer by Singaporean, as it is generic question.
Warrent Officer are not commissioned. They rose to their rank from the rank and file, meaning from PTE, to CPL to SGT, to SSG up to WOs.
Military of all the nations have their Commissioned Officers at the lowest rank of 2LT, some called it sub-Lieu. From there, they move up to LTA, CPT, MAJ, LTC COL to general level. (I am talking about Army, but in SAF, all 3 services, Army, Air-force and Navy are using Army ranking system).
In military culture, there is given rank and office holder. Eg, Some staff work may be filled by WOs, (be it 2WO, 1WO or SWO), but if he has a junior Commisioned Officer (be it 2LT, LTA or CPT) working under him, they will still have to hold their respect for the WO. But everyone knows, out in the field, or once they are posted out, who will have to address who Sir.
Elistees don't have pay, but allowance. Generally below S$700 per month.
Depending on the vocation, service and rank, No 3 uniform need not always wear beret.
On the contrast, No 4 have to wear beret or jockey cap (some call it ball cap), or helmet (if in full combat order).
11B is but the identity card used by the SAF personnel.

De-registered vehicles - year of manufacture (URGENT)?
For de-registered cars in Singapore, how can we verify the year of manufacture of the car other than checking on the vehicle registration / deregistration card? E.g. in Japan, there is a Chassis Book of Japan to check the year of manufacture. What about Singapore? Are there any publications or websites (other than LTA) where we can verify the details?

stopped at tuas checkpoint and told to pay a summon in year 2002.?
one day in year 2002, while driving in to singapore, i was stopped at the tuas checkpoint. i was told that there was some outstanding summon for my car PEM 446. I was told to pay $100. the officer then checked the summon and said the offence committed was by another car using my autopass. they will then refund to me but till today i still dont have any clue whatsoever. checked with LTA but they refered to Traffic police. please help. siva 98303866

Answer: You can probably find a Jeep Wrangler used in the Military. Sometimes when Military are done with their vehicles they sell them to local used auto shops. Try any used auto shop to find a Wrangler. Not sure if your going to be able to find the exact year you want, but you should be able to find a used Jeep. I traveled to Singapore 2 years ago and I saw quite a few Wranglers there.

How can you derive the last digit of the Singapore car plate number?
According to Wikipedia, its got something to do with modulus... but Wikis not revealing the whole operation, and I dont think only the LTA knows the process. Does anyone know? Please, please tell me!
Answer: You're right, it has something to do with modulus operations.
If we take a car plate number, for example SFX 9305, and we want to find the last letter (called a checksum digit), we first have to convert the letters into numbers. Each number corresponds to its position in the alphabet, i.e. A is the first letter so A = 1. Also, the S in the front is discarded; it does not take a part in the operation. From here, we get the numbers 6/24/9/3/0/5. We must then multiply the numbers in the sequence by certain constants. The constants are: 14/2/12/2/11/1. Therefore, it will become:
6*14 = 96
24*2 = 48
9*12 = 108
3*2 = 6
0*11 = 0
5*1 = 5
We have to take the sum of these numbers:
84+48+108+6+0+5 = 251
And apply modulus operation 19 on it. In this case, we divide 251 by 19, obtaining the remainder 4.
The number 4 corresponds to a letter, and in this case that letter is P.
P.S. We divide by 19 because 7 letters are omitted from the alphabet; namely F, I, N, O, Q, V and W. Therefore 26(the number of letters in the alphabet) minus 7 equals to 19.

Answer: I suppose more ERP will be imposed to make more people use public transport. What they want is lesser cars in Singapore.. Lesser road congestion.. more people support the new MRT lines such as the circle line, north east line and the upcoming downtown line..
Above those they are intending to do, i guess what they should really think about is the frequency of public transport.. It is horrible.. As quoted from Professor Brian Collins, chief scientific advisor from UK's Department of Transport, said: "Making buses punctual, making trains punctual, and making them more frequent - refining that predictability of travel time is one of the issues that people really like. They will like to know when they are going to arrive, arrive safely and in comfort." This is indeed a better system for public transport..
When you drive there is comfort.. But when you take public transport in the morning.. You faces problem like squeezing like a Sardine pack in a small can, miss the bus due to over crowded and etc. There is no comfort at all..
