Does London Undergronds yellow (circle line) stop at Aldgate station?
The circle line goes parralel with some other lines and when I look at a map of the underground it isnt clear whether the cirlce line lets you get off at Aldgate but I think it does. I want to see if I can follow the circle line all the way from Padington to Aldgate without changing trains.

And am wanting a detailed map showing main roads, towns, railway lines, airports and major snow resorts as Ill be jumping around from snow resort to snow resort and am hoping to map it all out so Im not going around in circles. I dont mind at all purchasing the map from a store on line. Im just having trouble located a good one with everything I need on it.

Is there anywhere online I can draw and measure distances, shapes and most importantly, circles on a map?
Google maps are good for straight lines and making own shpes, but I want to have an online map, say of the UK and work out exact distances from a point [eg 40 miles from Big Ben]. Im making a treasure hunt and want it to be based on circles and the like.
Any help greatly received!

Answer: What you may need to do is download any of the free GIS software applications (e.g. uDig, Quantum GIS, OSGeo), then use a free web service for the mapping data (e.g. google or OpenStreetMap) you want to use and create your treasure hunt maps. Learning curve on the software may be a little steep depending on how familiar you are with GIS.
Although this is not really on-line (i.e. via a web browser), it is using online web services for the data and gives you the flexibility to save your own created information in a format that can be reused with other datasets.

Answer: A contour line is a line of equal elevation above a reference, usually the sea level.
A lake can have a circular shore and therefore a circular contour line.
An ocean can't have that because no oceans are closed by continents.
A hill is the opposite of a lake and therefore can also have a circular contour line.
A depression is simply a unspecified lower space in the terrain. As such, all lakes are depressions and therefore, can have a circular contour line.
When contour lines are applied to the atmosphere and its pressure, it is then called isobars.

London transport: How to get from Paddington to Westminster by tube?
I would like to get from Paddington Underground Station to Westminster Underground Station (by tube). I downloaded the London tube map and it looks like the Circle line runs directly but when I checked the route on TFL, TransportDirect or Traveline, they just come up with choices with interchanges (advising to take the Bakerloo line). Can you please tell me if I can get from A to B directly? Thanks
Answer: You can go directly on the Circle Line but it will take a long time. I'd suggest taking the Bakerloo Line to Baker Street and changing there to the Jubilee Line, which is the fastest route

In each of the following cases find a Möbius transformation which:
(i) maps the real axis to the circle |z − 1| = √2 and the imaginary axis to the circle |z + 1| = √2;
(ii) maps the real axis to the circle |z| = 1 and line Im z = 1 to the circle |z − 2| = 1.
Answer: HERE IS A PROCEDURE THAT WORKS ANYTIME THAT ONE ONES TO CALCULATE THE MÖBIUS TRANSF. THAT TURNS TWO LINES INTO TWO CIRCLES OF GIVEN CENTERS AND RADII.
In fact one does not need so much information as we will see. For example, we will only use the centers of the circles and the the ratio between their radii.
Doing drawings in the problems helps.
i)
The ratio between the radius of the circle corresponding to the real axis to the radius of circle corresponding to the imaginary axis is r=1.
1st: z+1+i
Translation: both axis become lines that don't go through 0, and have a distance 1 from 0. The ratio of the distance of the line corresponding to the real axis to the distance of the line corresponding to the imaginary axis must be =1/r=1.
2nd: 1/(z+1+i)
Inversion and Reflection: the lines become circles that go through 0, and have centers -0.5i (real axis) and 0.5 (imaginary axis). To know that this are the centers, look for 1/(z+1+i) with maximum |1/(z+1+i)|, then the center will be 1/(z+1+i) divided by two. For the real axis this will be maximum when z = -1 (giving 1/(z+1+i) = -i), and for the imaginary axis when z= -i (giving 1/(z+1+i) = 1). This works since both circles go through the center, so the segment joining 0 and 1/(z+1+i) will be a diameter whenever 1/(z+1+i) is of maximum absolute value.
3rd: [1/(z+1+i)]*[(1-(-1))/(-0.5i-0.5)] = (-2+2i)/(z+1+i)
Rotation and Dilation: the centers -0.5i and -0.5 become (-2+2i)(-0.5i) = 1+i and (-2+2i)(0.5) = -1+i, which are 1 and -1 translated by +i.
Here recall that 1 is the center of the circle that we want the real axis to become, whereas -0.5i is the one of the circle that we had got so far. The same goes for -1 and 0.5 when talking about the imaginary axis.
4th: (2+2i)/(z+1+i) - i = (-iz+3+i)/(z+1+i) (ANSWER)
Translation: we translate by -i since the centers were off by +i. Now the circles will have centers 1 and -1, and you can check that they have radii √2.
ii)
The ratio between the radii is again r=1.
1st: z-0.5i
This time Im z = 1 and the real axis are parallel and if you move them by -0.5i, they'll both have distance 0.5 from 0.
2nd: 1/(z-0.5i)
The centers will be i (real axis, consider z=0) and -i (Im z, consider z=i).
3rd: [1/(z-0.5i)]*[(0-2)/(i-(-i))] = i/(z-0.5i)
The centers become i(i) = -1 (real axis) and i(-i) = 1. They are off the centers we want (0 and 2) by -1.
4th: i/(z-0.5i) + 1 = (z+0.5i)/(z-0.5i) (ANSWER)
By adding 1 we "correct" the centers.
