Brief Description of what I did during Work Experience
Skills and Personal Qualities
I am an ambitious, hard-working and reliable person. I am very punctual and enjoy meeting and working with new people. I get on well with people and can work well on my own or as part of a team. I can adapt well to any situation I may be required to do. I rarely have time off school, in the 5 years I have attended ********* School, I have only had one day absent.
Achievements
•In 2006, I won a ‘Design-A-Ride’ competition with Pleasure Island and ITV Television along with another boy 3 years older than me; because of this our designs were combined and a rollercoaster worth in excess of £1million was built and is now in operation at Pleasure Island theme park.
•I was the Year 9 winner in the Pandrol Ltd Advertising Campaign where I had to design a new advert for the company.
•I competed in the St John Ambulance Regional Round of the National School’s First Aid Competition where my team and I came 3rd overall.
•I was appointed Head Girl of my school in July 2010 and will play this role between September 2010 – July 2011.
Career Aims
My ultimate career goal is to become a Commercial Airline Pilot, I believe I would be good at this job as I can make quick, logical decisions and work well in a team. I am also very interested and fascinated with the Aviation Industry and I also believe my networking skills, passion and sheer determination will play a big part in achieving my goal.
Spare Time Activities
I currently have a heavy involvement with my school. As Head Girl, I often help out with special events at school, including awards evenings where I am often asked to publically speak.
I also complete any homework I have in my spare time. I complete it as soon as I get it, without exception, as I feel getting it completed as soon as I receive it is the best way I can maximize my time.
Sorry that Ive ****** some things out, but you get the jist.
What do you think?
Am I missing anything? Too much, too little?
Thank you!
Answer: Everything is alright, however you should start your CV by introducing yourself, after-all your CV is used to sell yourself out to companies. Without a good intro it is difficult to find a job. So, basically find some information to sell yourself to the target audience or company.
e.g. An enthusiastic, organised, self-motivated and creative individual who works well within a challenging environment. A hard working…..etc.
The lay out is best like my example below:
Profile (Sell yourself, describe your person-what you are like,)
………..
Key Skills (Abilities, speciality, etc.)
………..
Employment History (If any)
………..
Education and Qualifications (Schools you have been, include all however small the place may be)
………..
Work Experience
………..
Interests (General interests, i.e. sports. It has to be detailed)
………..
Volunteer Work
………..
Reference (This is the reference of people you have worked with, which you can use as proof as all of the above, with consent or permission)
By the way, the Education and Qualifications section and the Employment History could be switched around depending on your liking. Hope this has helped.

Why do Immigration Advocates March Through Clarendon Tonight do not want illegals to be subject to US laws?
Pro-immigration groups will be marching through the streets of Arlington tonight to protest the deportation of illegal immigrants.
Protesters will march from George Mason University Founder’s Hall, at 3351 N. Fairfax Drive in Virginia Square, to the Arlington County jail, at 1435 N. Courthouse Road in Courthouse, where they will hold a rally against the federal ‘Secure Communities’ immigration enforcement program.
The march is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. Organizers expect the rally outside the jail to start at 7:15 p.m.
“Speakers at the rally will include representatives from Virginia, Maryland, DC, New York, Illinois, California and other locales affected by the discredited deportation program,” organizers said in a statement.
The march and rally will coincide with the start of the Turning the Tide National Summit, a three-day pro-immigration gathering that’s being held this year at GMU’s Arlington campus.
Secure Communities helps federal authorities enforce immigration laws by checking the fingerprints of those arrested by local law enforcement through a Department of Homeland Security immigration database.
In September the County Board voted unanimously to attempt to withdraw from the program, saying that Secure Communities “will create divisions in our community and promote a cultural fear and distrust of law enforcement.” County officials eventually determined that it was not feasible to withdraw from the program. A coalition that helped organize local opposition to Secure Communities was later given the county’s James B. Hunter Human Rights Award.

Realistically, do I have a chance at prestigious colleges such as Johns Hopkins?
So right now Im a junior and I was just wondering if I still have a shot at colleges such as Johns Hopkins? My GPA is kind of low and I scored an 1870 on the SAT in January 2011. Ive been intermittently studying from January to mid-March, but since mid-March, Ive been really hardcore studying (like at least 2 hours a day and more on weekends). So now the practice tests that I take score around the 2000 range. Im taking my next SAT in June. So my question is, if I keep on studying my SATs, might I have a shot at colleges such as Johns Hopkins? Even with my GPA and somewhat disappointing ECs?
Also, kind of a side question. Out of all the AP classes that Ive taken, Ive only taken 1 AP exam which is for AP Statistics, and I scored a 2. I didnt take the other AP exams because my dad got me BCC cap. My family doesnt make too much money so thats why my dad wanted me to take BCC cap so that I would attend a college in NJ (which is more affordable) and also obtain credit for it. Though in mid-March of this year, I decided that I didnt want to go to somewhere like Rutgers because I want to achieve more. So my main question is... By not taking the AP exams (and also scoring a 2 on the AP Statistics exam), have I somewhat hurt my chances at getting into a good school?

Yeah, I know I didnt do any sports, but I felt like by not taking them, I would have more time for studying and focusing on academics.
Lastly, I volunteer at my church (at least over 150 hours done) and Im going to volunteer at a local hospital sometime soon. Also Im going to go under an "unoffical" medical internship this summer in India under Dr. Laxman Basani (supposedly hes well-known?). Anyways thank you for reading this, and I really appreciate your answers. :)
Also, Im of Asian descent and my dad is on disability benefits and my mom is unemployed so my family doesnt make too much money. Not sure if that really means anything when it comes to admissions.
Answer: Your extra-curricular sounds good, especially volunteering at a local hospital. this should hold you in good stead for studying medicine.
APs are better, but reaaly high ranking unis are better endowed than ordinary ones and if you really shine, they'll make sure you can make it financially.
So go for more APs.

What are my chances at getting into the University of Michigan?
University of Michigan Ann Arbor Undergrad (LSA) for Pre Med
Alright..so I know that it isnt exactly easy for one to determine such things without a detailing file, but I was wondering, based on the information provided, YOUR thoughts on whether or not I will be accepted into the University of Michigan Ann Arbor (pre med). The following is a list of some of my stats:
3.5 High School GPA (from fairly prestigious private jesuit school in Detroit)
31 ACT
3 APs, 2 Honors

Vice President of Model UN (won Oral Speaker Award at an international competition in D.C.)
Hospital Volunteer
Shadowed a doctor (graduate from U of M undergrad and medical school)

Entering my senior year, going to college in the Fall of 2011
Please leave me some feedback as to what you think my fate with U of M will be! I know this is not something easy for anyone to do, but do your best and help me out!
1 hour ago - 4 days left to answer.
Varsity Lacrosse Team
Answer: From the numbers, you look like you have a very good chance at getting in to U of M.
Just make sure you triple check your essays, because those are very important too because those give the admissions officers a real sense of who you are as a person.
Good luck with it all! I know how stressful this can be, but you'll do well.

Chances of getting into UT Austin or Cornell?
Junior in TX
Im not in the top ten, but Im the top quarter (22% (Based on unweighted GPA at my school)):
I got a 3.85 GPA (out of 4)
SAT: I got a pretty bad grade on my first attempt (1800), but Im retaking it and hoping to get a 2020+ (I took a practice one few days ago and I got a 2100) I know its still pretty low, but I cant really improve that much. Scores will probably be b/w 2000-2100.
SAT II: Next year: Biology and Math
Extracurriculars:
- Varsity Ice Hockey all 4 years (assistant captain this year, maybe captain next year)
- Summer Ice Hockey League for 2 years
- Prep Hockey League during Freshman year
- Houston Travel League during Sophomore year. (We traveled to Dallas and Austin throughout the year)
- National Honors Society (Volunteering)
- Interact Club (Volunteering) (4 years)
- Clements Earth (Promoting Recycling / Recycling in school) (2 years)
- French Club (3 years) Im Treasurer this year, President next year.
- YES program (Volunteer Program)
- Ive completed 100+ community service hours
- This summer, Ill be volunteering every weekday at the Memorial Hermann Hospital for 3 months. (I want to major in some pre-Med course, and Ill get 135 community service hours from that)
Awards:
- 1st Place Winner at the Texas Sate Competition in Houston (for French poetry) (2008)
- Academic Excellence every single year of high school. (2007-2011)
- ISHL Skills Competition, won 1st place, fastest high school skater in Houston. (2010)
Curriculum:
At my competitive high school, there are only advanced and honors/AP courses. Advanced are "easier".
I took 1 honors freshmen year, 2 sophomore, 3 junior, and Ill be taking 5 senior year.
AP Exams: This year Ill be taking US History AP, and French AP.
Next year, Ill be taking Bio, Govt, Human Geo and Calc AB, Environmental Science and Psychology.
Other:
Im a minority, I have lived in 6 different countries throughout my life: India, Canada, UK, Algeria, Singapore, and the U.S. (Ill definitely stress that in my essay and talk about being open-minded and cultural), and I won the State Prize for French Poetry during my sophomore year. (If that counts in any way)
For Cornell, the biggest thing Id like to know is that: What school should I apply to? I want to major in Biology or something like that because I want to go to Med School. I know my chances are kinda low, so which school will increase my chances?
Thanks
Answer: I think you have great potential overall. What I recommend you is to be on the top ten percent since UT Austin is famous for accepting many applicants from there. (just like any public colleges in TX) You should give a shot at Cornell University because it sounds like you are a great student. Make sure to write an impressive essay to increase your chances. That's all I have to say. You should also consider Rice University or even Baylor since you want to go to a medical field.
Good Luck! Senior year is fast and long. Depending on time. :)

NBA Hall of Fame 2011?
Dennis Rodman was the flamboyant rebounder who won five NBA titles with Chicago and Detroit; Jamaal Wilkes won four NBA titles with Golden State and the Lakers after starring at UCLA; and Tex Winter was the architect of the triangle and triple-post offense. The other finalists are former NBA stars Maurice Cheeks, Chris Mullin and Ralph Sampson, five-time Olympian Teresa Edwards, Stanford womens coach Tara VanDerveer, former NBA coach Dick Motta, Philadelphia University coach Herb Magee, college referee Hank Nichols, and Al Attles, the current vice president and assistant general manager of the Golden State Warriors.
1) Dennis Rodman 52%FG/58%FT 6683 points over 14 year career 5 NBA titles with 2 teams
2) Jamaal Wilkes 50%FG/76%FT 14644 points over 12 year career 4 NBA titles with 2 teams
3) Tex Winter, the architect of the triangle and triple-post offense, has 10 NBA championship rings with both Chicago and the L.A. Lakers. On April 25, 2009, Winter suffered a stroke in Manhattan, Kansas, while attending a Kansas State basketball reunion. This is his 8th time on the final ballot.

9) Herb Magee since 1967 has been the head baseketball coach at Philadelphia University achieving a 920-363 (.717) head coaching record. The Kodak District Coach of the Year in 1993, Magee was also tabbed New York Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year that season and again in 1994. In addition, he has been honored as regional Coach of the Year four times, national Coach of the Year twice, and Co-Coach of the Year in the Mideast Collegiate Conference twice. He was also inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 1979. He led the Rams to the College Division National Championship in 1970.
Coach Magee was inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame (2008), Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (1979), Philadelphia University and West Catholic High School Halls of Fame, and honored by numerous organizations throughout his career. He coached the Olympic Festive team along with John Calipari and was co-coach of the Year in the Mideast Collegiate Conference (twice). The NABC honored him with the Guardian of the Game Award.
10) Dick Motta NBA coach for 28 seasons with a 935-1017.479% I NBA championship in 1978
11) Al Attles NBA coach for 13 seasons with a 557-518.518% During the 1974-1975 season The Warriors pulled off an upset of the Washington Bullets by beating them 4 games to 0. To this day, its the least talked about NBA championship series ever. Washington had won 60 games, while Golden State won 48 games, in the playoffs the Warriors went 12-5 .706% winning their only championship since moving to Oakland.
12) Hank Nichols officiated a record six NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship games, 10 NCAA Final Fours, three NIT Tournament Finals and two Olympics. He was also the first official to work the NCAA and NIT Championship Basketball Final in the same year. After years of running the floor, he earned the opportunity to serve as NCAA National Officiating Coordinator of Men’s Basketball – a post he held for 20 years. During that time, he was secretary/editor of the NCAA rules committee and wrote most of the language on officiating. Hank, who received the first-ever National Invitation Tournaments Officials Award in 1985, has been inducted into numerous halls of fame including the Villanova University Athletic, State of Pennsylvania Athletic, Philadelphia Athletic, Bishop Duffy Athletic, and is the only referee in the Philadelphia ‘Big 5’ Hall of Fame.
From this list of people who do you think gets inducted into the Hall of Fame in April? Heres my list
Five-time Olympian Teresa Edwards, Stanford womens coach Tara VanDerveer, Philadelphia University coach Herb Magee, college referee Hank Nichols, Dennis Rodman, Jamaal Wilkes.
Both Motta & Attles NBA coaching stats werent outstanding. Tex Winter may get the nod this time around
Answer: Mullin and Sampson could make it more for their college career than NBA. But why was Reggie Miller left off the final vote? He's better than any of the ones who made it. And Don Nelson is a better coach than Al Attles or Dick Motta. Strange!

Are Child tax credits the most incompetent Government Department ever?
In early December 2010, following a conversation with a customer services representative on the Child Tax Credit Helpline, the forms to change my circumstances were completed and returned.
In early January 2011, I received more documents that required me to provide further information regarding my daughter’s circumstances. These documents were completed and returned within a few days.
On 29th January 2011 I received a letter stating I was NOT entitled to Child Tax Credits. I immediately called the Child Tax Credit Helpline (0845 300 3900). I was advised by the customer services representative that there had been an obvious mistake with my claim, as my daughter was not added to my claim, even though I had correctly completed all the required documentation. I was advised my claim would be corrected and that a new claim notification letter detailing my entitlement would be received within 10 working days (by 12th February 2011).
By the 14th February I had not received a new claim notification letter, so I called the Child Tax Credit Helpline again. The customer services representative gave me a telephone number of the Head Office (01772 235 613) which is an answering machine service. I recorded the required details, including my full name, national insurance number and contact telephone number. The answer machine service advised I would be contacted within 2 working days.
I waited for 4 working days and didnt receive a response from your Head Office. I once again called the Child Tax Credit Helpline, only to be told they cannot help further and I need to contact the Head Office. On 18th February 2011 I recorded another message on the answer machine service leaving all my details. I am still awaiting a response.
List of Child Tax Credit Department failings:
1.Failed to provide all required forms, delaying the claim by over four weeks.
2.Failure to process the claim according to clear instructions and with all the correct documentation, which has so far further delayed the claim by over four weeks.
3.Failure by the Head Office to respond to 3 messages. The answer machine service advises a 2 working day response.
4.Failed to process the claim within the quoted 30 days. “…accurately record what you’ve told them about a change in your circumstances, and send you a new award notice within 30 days”. The claim period now exceeds 60 days.
Answer: You are NOT telling me anything I do not already know - they are also the rudest, most ignorant department with the revenue servise that I know of - totally incompetent - they told me for 7 months that I did not have a son even though they had been paying CTC since it was introduced.

How long does the social security payment processing center usally take ?
I know there is no certain amount of time, I had a wreck April 11, 2002 loss left eye couldnt walk for a while got diagnosised with congestive heart failure, enlarged heart, diabetes, sleep apena, clinical depression, high blood pressure and restless leg syndrome, I take 19 pills 1 shot and sleep under a c-pap machine. I fought tooth and nail after years of doctors, hospitals, denials and hearings I finally got approved . I went to a hearing in the middle of Aug 2010, seven months later March 11, 2011 thank God I get a fully favorable that said I should get an award letter within 60 day its been 90 days and no letter no check. Local S.S says its at social security payment processing center and dont know when it will be released . Lawyer say he can only get the same info that I get. Maybe I should have been a drug dealer instead of ex correctional office, national guardsman, police was a truckdiver when I had wreck (not my fault). Does it 6 months? a year? or what? to get a check from the payment processing center. Thanks for any and all help sorry if I sound angry really just flustrated.
Answer: Well, I'm afraid my own experience won't encourage you: It was more than two years from the time I was notified my petition had been accepted until I got my first check. I'd eaten through my life savings and piled up credit card debt. The check arrived a mere five days before the bank foreclosed on my mortgage. It was small consolation, but the first check was large because I got "back pay" for all those months of waiting. It was big, but still not enough to pay off all my debt. That last has taken nearly twenty years...
Advice: do not attempt to pressure them to speed it up: I did, and was informed by an administrative law judge that all that would accomplish would be more delay - lots more delay. They've got you by the short hairs and they'll let go when they're damn good and ready!

How are they looking?
So how are the Chicago Blackhawks looking for the 2010-2011 season?
Here are some of the drafts
The Blackhawks drafted 9 players on Day 2 of the draft (rounds 2-7) and made one trade -- trading the 43rd pick to Toronto for Jimmy Hayes, the older brother of Kevin Hayes, whom the Hawks selected Friday as the 24th overall selection. Jimmy Hayes, who was the Leafs second-round pick (60th overall) in 2008, had 13 goals and 22 assists last season with Boston College.
Here are the other newest Blackhawks:
Left winger Ludvig Rensfeldt, 18, ranked fourth in the Swedish SuperElit League with 50 points (21G,29A) in 39 regular-season contests with Brynas Jr. during the 2009-10 campaign. A native of Gavle, he paced Sweden with six goals and ranked fourth in the tournament with 12 points in helping his nation to a silver medal at the 2010 World U-18 Championships.
Defenseman Justin Holl, 18, captained Minnetonka High School to Minnesotas Section 6AA Championship in his senior season in 2009-10. The blueliner tallied 37 points (20G,17A) in 25 games and was a finalist for the Mr. Hockey award, given to the outstanding senior boys high school hockey player in the state of Minnesota. Following the season Holl joined the Omaha Lancers of the USHL where he recorded four assists and a +7 plus/minus rating in 11 contests. A native of Edina, Minnesota, Holl is committed to play his college hockey for the University of Minnesota.
Goaltender Kent Simpson, 18, posted a 22-9-1 record in 34 games between the pipes for the Everett Silvertips, where he was a teammate of 2009 Blackhawks fourth round selection Byron Froese. The netminder ranked second in the Western Hockey League with a 2.25 GAA and second with a .925 save %. The Edmonton, Alberta, was a member of Team Canada at the 2010 World U-18 Championships, as well as Team Pacific at the 2008 World U-17 Challenge.
Defenseman Stephen Johns, 18, posted three goals and 16 assists in 62 games during the 2009-10 season for the United States National Team Development Programs U-18 squad. The defenseman also recorded three assists and a +2 plus/minus rating en route to a gold medal with Team USA at the 2010 World U-18 Championships. A native of Wampum, Pennsylvania, Johns will attend the University of Notre Dame in the fall.
Center Joakim Nordstrom, 18, recorded six goals, nine assists, and 53 penalty minutes in 28 regular-season contests with Aik Jr. in the Swedish J20 SuperElit league. The Stockholm native earned a bronze medal at the 2009 U-18 Ivan Hlinka Tournament playing for his country.
Center Rob Flick, 19, posted career-highs in goals (15), assists (19), and points (34), and penalty minutes (157) in 65 regular-season contests with the Mississauga St. Michaels Majors. He tallied an additional four points (2G,2A) in the clubs run to the Ontario Hockey League semi-finals.
Center Mirko Hoefflin, 18, spent the majority of the 2009-10 season with Mannheim in the German Junior League. The Freiburg, Germany, native registered 32 goals and 35 assists in just 24 regular-season contests before collecting three assists in 18 games with Heilbronner Falken of the German second division.
Defenseman Nick Mattson, 19, recorded a career-high five goals and a career-best 19 points in 51 regular-season contests in 2009-10 and represented the Indiana Ice in the USHL All-Star Game. Prior to joining Indiana he spent two seasons in the United States National Team Development Program. A native of Chanhassen, Minnesota, Mattson will attend the University of North Dakota in the fall.
Goaltender Macmillan Carruth, 18, posted a 14-9-1 record with one shutout and a 3.41 GAA in 26 regular-season games with the Portland Winterhawks, before compiling a 5-4 mark in 11 WHL postseason contests. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, the netminder has spent the past two seasons with Portland.
Answer: I think they drafted some good players, but their not going to be able to play in the NHL right away, until what... 2 or 3 years? and that's if their ready. So we're not going to be playing them this coming season... they still need to develop, work on a few things. We'll really have to see exactly what Bowman does when it comes to trades and resigning players and who he brings up from Rockford to give them a chance to prove themselves... so as of right now we're ok, but what matters are the next steps Bowman has to make.

Answer: It's a really good start, but I would make a few suggestions:
1) You don't need to list references on a resume; take them to the interview and provide them if you are asked for them.
2) You have a lot of information on here; most hiring managers will not spend a lot of time looking at your resume so less is more provided you effectively highlight your skills. Make sure it fits on one page. I would probably leave out the activities and interests section entirely or cut it down to no more that 3 or 4 bullet points. Likewise, your volunteer experience and "honors" sections should be cut down significantly or you could list "a variety of volunteer experience" as one bullet point under the heading "summary of qualifications."
3) Finally, I would change your objective statement to say, "Pursue entry level employment in culinary arts, retail, customer service OR business management" (although you should obviously make OR lowercase). You should say "or" instead of "and" because I'm assuming you want a job in one of these fields, not all of them at the same time. :-) Good luck!

Saturday, March 19th, 11am - noon
Science@Cal Lecture with Prof. Rich Muller "The Current Status of Climate
Change - A Non-Partisan Analysis"
UC Berkeley campus, Genetics and Plant Biology Room 100
Free admission
More details at http://scienceatcal.berkeley.edu/lectures
Note that we are back in our usual venue this month.
Because of its huge economic and political implications, Climate Change is
rarely presented without spin. This will be an attempt to do that. Ill
discuss the physics of the greenhouse effect, and the data that indicate
global warming. Among key topics are: Copenhagen -- why did we fail to get a
major treaty? Climategate -- what really happened? IPCC standards -- and why
they are undergoing major revisions. What are the top prospects among the
many choices for alternative energy? What kind of example can the U.S. set
that could be followed by the rest of the world? Ill also report on new
results of our "Berkeley Earth" project -- a detailed re-analysis of the
evidence for global warming; see www.BerkeleyEarth.org.
Rich Muller is a Professor in the Department of Physics at UC Berkeley, and
Faculty Senior Scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. He was named a
MacArthur Foundation "Genius" Fellow in 1982. He also received the Alan T.
Waterman Award from the National Science Foundation "for highly original and
innovative research which has led to important discoveries and inventions in
diverse areas of physics, including astrophysics, radioisotope dating, and
optics." In 1999, he received a distinguished teaching award from UC
Berkeley. He teaches the popular "Physics for Future Presidents" series of
undergraduate lectures at Berkeley and is the author of an associated book,
among other books, essays, and articles. Hes also working on a system to
view 3-D TV without glasses.
The talk will take place in the Genetics and Plant Biology Building, Room
100. Doors will open at 10:30. We would like to start the talks on time, and
avoid disruption from people entering the auditorium during the talks, so
please try to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start.
We aim to stream the talk live at
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/science-cal but if youre in the area, we
encourage you to come along in person. The talk will also be videoed and
posted on our website a few days after the event.

2011 Raymond and Beverly Sackler Distinguished Lecturer in Astronomy Prof.
Andrea Ghez (UCLA):
Wednesday, March 30th, 5pm
Sibley Auditorium, Bechtel Engineering Center, UC Berkeley Admission Free
More than a quarter century ago, it was suggested that galaxies such as our
own Milky Way may harbor massive, though possibly dormant, central black
holes.
Definitive proof,
for or against, the existence of a massive central black hole lies in the
assessment of the distribution of matter in the center of the Galaxy. The
motion of the stars in the vicinity of a black hole offers a way to
determine this distribution. Based on
15 years of high
resolution imaging, the case for a supermassive black hole at the Galactic
Center has moved from being a possibility to a certainty. Additionally,
spectroscopy has revealed that the stars orbiting in such close proximity
are apparently massive and young; the origin of these stars is difficult to
explain, given the strong tidal forces, and may provide key insight into the
growth of the central black hole.
Prof. Ghez is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and in 2008 was
the recipient of a MacArthur Foundation "genius grant".

Be sure to read Danas answer.
Answer: I'm about an hour drive from Berkeley, and did my undergrad there. But I'm not really interested in listening to Muller. As eric notes, he has grossly misinformed people about "hide the decline" in his previous lectures. His misinformation was spread to Judith Curry's blog, which I then had to debunk at SkS:
http://skepticalscience.com/preference-for-mild-curry.html
John Cook is in the process of updating the SkS "hide the decline" rebuttal in response to Muller's misinformation. So I'm pretty aggravated at him - Muller decided to speak on a subject before doing his research, and as a result spread misinformation to a very large audience which we have had to expend considerable effort debunking.
When Muller gets back to giving lectures on subjects about which he's done research and is informed, then maybe I'll go listen to him.
Also as Gary notes, calling his analysis "non-partisan" is a red flag. Science by definition is non-partisan, and stating that his analysis is "non-partisan" suggests that other analyses are partisan. Frankly that's insulting to climate scientists.
Muller has also grossly overinflated the importance of his work. He's part of the BEST project, which is just another analysis of the temperature record to add to the long list (HadCRU, NCDC, GISS, JMA, etc.). It will be somewhat useful, but not terribly important. Yet Muller said "it is the most important project in the world today. Nothing else comes close". WTF? The dude is simply out of touch with reality.
