What is the purpose of gold fringe on a flag in a courtroom?
Ive come across some websites which claim that the gold fringe on a flag in a public courtroom indicates that you are being judged under martial law or some kind of military jurisdiction. Personally I think it sounds far fetched, but I wonder where this tradition came from? Did it originate in the military and become used in civilian courtrooms just because the gold fringe happens to look pretty, or does it have any kind of symbolism? Why dont courtrooms simply use a plain American flag without any sort of alterations or embellishments?
Answer: It keeps the chocolate fresh until you finally peel back the gold foil and eat the flag.

How can I stop my fringe from going curly on foggy winter mornings??
Its so annoying. Before I leave the house my hair is perfect, straightened, and blow dried fringe. About 5 minutes walking down the street and my hair is frizzy and curly again !

Ive tried a few products but sometimes this just makes my fringe oily, and although its straighter it still looks bad!
Answer: The humidity is what is messying up your hairstyle. You need to keep your hair moisturized. I would recommend a little oil to keep your hair down and locked in style. Also, use a leave in conditioner and moisturizing holding spray before leaving the house.

What is the fringe that goes in your doorways called?
It is fringe (strings hanging from a ribbon tape) that you can hang in your doorway and sometimes they have beads on them. Ive also seen them used in window treatments. I just got a haircut wanting a fringe but the numpty hairdresser cut the fringe too high (about an inch above my eyebrows - which looks awful) when i wanted it level with my eyebrows. Ive got my 21st birthday party on 14th March and now im worried about pictures. How long do you think it will take before the fringe/bangs have grown to length i originally wanted them?

I have annoyingly thinck hair :S?
My hair hasnt always been so thick.. my hair used to be blonde when i was a child and since age 10/11 it went to a dark mousey colour and it also went really thick. Now that im coming up 16/17 I want to grow my hair back out to what it was when i was younger, It used to be really awesome and straight and style really easy but since it got darker the ends of my hair curl in weird ways, by my fringe on one side it curls back into my fringe and on the sides by my ears it curls out but only on the right side, straightening my hair is out of the question since it doesnt work for me plus im not to good with using them :L. As of yet I dont have a proper hair routine, I just wash it with shampoo every other day and conditioner every three days, so that might help as well. I was wondering if theres and tips anyone could give me for either thinning it out or styling techniques, My hair is styled/re-cut every 5-7 weeks and my hair dresser doesnt thin hair since it would lift it from the base when it starts to grow back again but he does put a HUGE amount of layers in my hair which helps for about 2 weeks and then they "grow" out. If suggested what straighteners should I get? at the minute I have Tresemme Philips mens straighteners and they dont seem to work

I see UPS trucks (the semis, not the delivery vans) on the highway and they all seem to have this little fringe over the wheels. Is there a purpose to it? Its how I identify a UPS truck - sometimes instead of the logo on the side!
Answer: It's not for rocks etc. but only to cut down the amount of spray in wet weather. The fringe as you call it helps keep the spray under the wheel arches and also it doesn't wear the vehicles tires when it contacts the rubber.
It makes quite a difference to you as a motorist when you pass a large truck in the wet.

How do i get my fringe to lay flat on my forehead?
I recently cut a fringe in my hair, but it has a tendency to stick straight forward from my head rather than staying flatter on my forehead. How do i get it to lay down a bit without gelling the whole thing down?
Answer: great question! I have the same problem all the time! what you need to do, being that the hair is flipped outward, get a flat iron and curl it down and cus its flipped outward it won't curl, it will just be flat!
basically curling down flipped out hair makes hair straight.

Whats the best way to attach decorative fringe to my curtain?
I have some nice but plain looking curtains that Id like to spice up by attaching some decorative fringe to the ends. My question is should I sew or glue it on? I dont want it to look like I obviously did it myself so I want some advice on how to make the fringe look expertly attached. Im worried about using glue because I dont want the globs of glue to show up as dark patchs under the band of the fringe. Thanks!

I recommend sewing the fringe to the curtain. It will be faster, easier and you can hold the fringe in place with pins as you sew.
The problem with using glue that is strong enough the hold them together, is when it dries, it will be stiff and not look nice.
