If what I understand correctly, as well as the mass murder and brutal suppression of political dissidents, the Communist party in China maintains its rule by letting off some pressure in the form of:
(1) economic reforms
(2) easing up on cultural freedoms
and
(3) allowing Hong Kong to maintain a lot of its relative freedom.
Presumably Chinese might also be able to look to Macao, Taiwan, and Singapore.
What do the mullarchs in Iran have to offer the people
--the young people in particular
--particularly while Admadinejad is pro-natalist, China has pursued a "one-child" policy.
(1) Will admadinejad loosen up the economy--and anger many of his poorer supporters;
or make Los Angeles, and perhaps to a lesser extent London and (my beloved--ha!!) Toronto as de facto Iranian urban economic centres and capital?
(2) Will they ease up on the culture?
(3) Will they allow some autonomous zone of Freedom?

Answer: I am proud for Americans in general. I hope he's the medicine America needs. He is our Abraham Lincoln. Our JFK. He is something millions can believe in and look up to. He is the American dream. He is our next President. We should join hands, whether red or blue, to unite these states of America. We need to Unite America where it has begun to unwind with political disunity. Republican, Democrat - it doesn't matter. The dreams and hopes of millions are the same. If it takes McCain, then so be it. Obama has won, though, and I will support my president when he is elected in office. I believe some are just mislead, sore losers. McCain's defeat speech was very well executed. God Bless America.

World wants Obama as president: poll?
US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama may be struggling to nudge ahead of his Republican rival in polls at home, but people across the world want him in the White House, a BBC poll said.
All 22 countries covered in the poll would prefer to see Senator Obama elected US president ahead of Republican John McCain.
In 17 of the 22 nations, people expect relations between the US and the rest of the world to improve if Senator Obama wins.
More than 22,000 people were questioned by pollster GlobeScan in countries ranging from Australia to India and across Africa, Europe and South America.
The margin in favour of Senator Obama ranged from 9 per cent in India to 82 per cent in Kenya, while an average of 49 per cent across the 22 countries preferred Senator Obama compared with 12 per cent preferring Senator McCain. Some four in 10 did not take a view.
"Large numbers of people around the world clearly like what Barack Obama represents," GlobeScan chairman Doug Miller said.
"Given how negative Americas international image is at present, it is quite striking that only one in five think a McCain presidency would improve on the Bush administrations relations with the world."
In the United States, three polls taken since the Republican party convention ended on Thursday (local time) show Senator McCain with a lead of 1 to 4 percentage points - within the margin of error - and two others show the two neck-and-neck.
The countries most optimistic that an Obama presidency would improve relations were Americas NATO allies, including Australia (62 per cent).
A similar BBC/Globescan poll conducted ahead of the 2004 U.S presidential election found that, of 35 countries polled, 30 would have preferred to see Democratic nominee John Kerry, rather than the incumbent George Bush, who was elected.
A total of 23,531 people in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, the UAE, Britain and the United States were interviewed face-to-face or by telephone in July and August 2008 for the poll.

When Rajiv Gandhi procrastinated, Premadasa did the unexpected and the unthinkable - he secretly supplied large quantities of arms to the Sri Lankan governments long-term enemy, the LTTE. Finally, the Indian troops were withdrawn in 1990

Premadasa allowed Mossad to arm the enemy (the Tamils) in hopes that the Tamils would wipe out the JVP Buddhists, and also cause the Indian troops to leave Sri Lanka. Meanwhile the Jews committed a series of false flag murders, causing all sides to escalate into worse and worse atrocities.

Answer: Nice comparison. The only flaw in this comparison would be that the Chinese rebels didnt use violence, they were only students sitting on the ground but got crushed by tanks.

The world prefers Obama. Do you?

People outside the US would prefer Barack Obama to become US president ahead of John McCain, a BBC World Service poll suggests.
Democrat Mr Obama was favoured by a four-to-one margin across the 22,500 people polled in 22 countries.
In 17 countries, the most common view was that US relations with the rest of the world would improve under Mr Obama.
If Republican Mr McCain were elected, the most common view was that relations would remain about the same.
The poll was conducted before the Democratic and Republican parties held their conventions and before the headline-grabbing nomination of Sarah Palin as Mr McCains running mate.
BBC diplomatic correspondent Jonathan Marcus says the results could therefore be a reflection of the greater media focus on Mr Obama as he competed for the presidential candidacy against Hillary Clinton.

The margin of those in favour of Mr Obama winning Novembers US election ranged from 9% in India to 82% in Kenya, which is the birthplace of the Illinois senators father.
On average 49% preferred Mr Obama to 12% in favour of Mr McCain. Nearly four in 10 of those polled did not take a view.
On average 46% thought US relations with the world would improve with Mr Obama in the White House, 22% that ties would stay the same, while seven per cent expected relations to worsen.
Only 20% thought ties would get better if Mr McCain were in the Oval Office.
The expectation that a McCain presidency would improve US relations with the world was the most common view, by a modest margin, only in China, India and Nigeria.
But across the board, the largest number - 37% - thought relations under a president McCain would stay the same, while 16% expected them to deteriorate.
In no country did most people think that a McCain presidency would worsen relations.

Some 30% of Americans expected relations to improve under Mr McCain
Oddly, in Turkey more people thought US relations would worsen with an Obama presidency than under Mr McCain, even though most Turks polled preferred Mr Obama to win.
In Egypt, Lebanon, Russia and Singapore, the predominant expectation was that relations would remain the same if Mr Obama won the election.
The countries most optimistic that an Obama presidency would improve ties were US Nato allies - Canada (69%), Italy (64%), France (62%), Germany (61%), and the UK (54%) - as well as Australia (62%), along with Kenya (87%) and Nigeria (71%).
When asked whether the election as president of the African-American Mr Obama would "fundamentally change" their perception of the US, 46% said it would while 27% said it would not.

The US public was polled separately and Americans also believed an Obama presidency would improve US ties with the world more than a McCain presidency.
Forty-six per cent of Americans expected relations to get better if Mr Obama were elected and 30% if Mr McCain won the White House.

Sri Lankan government under President Premadasa was as anti-Rajiv Gandhi as the LTTE. Premadasa opposed the India-Sri Lanka Peace Accord of 1987 and the induction of Indian troops into Sri Lanka in 1987 from the very beginning. His presidential election campaign included a pledge to get the Indian troops out of Sri Lanka. His first foreign policy initiative as the newly elected president was to request India to withdraw its troops from Sri Lanka. When Rajiv Gandhi procrastinated, Premadasa did the unexpected and the unthinkable - he secretly supplied large quantities of arms to the Sri Lankan governments long-term enemy, the LTTE. Finally, the Indian troops were withdrawn in 1990

Rajiv Gandhi opposing relations with Israel
Yasser Arafat was close to the Nehru-Gandhi family — and had personally warned Rajiv Gandhi of a plot to assassinate him during the 1991 election campaign.
By 1987, India’s Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi convinced Sri Lankan President Junius Jayawardene to sign the Indo-Sri Lankan peace accord, which gave autonomy to the Tamil areas in the north and east of the island. An amnesty was declared, and 3,000 Indian troops were sent as peacekeepers.
Then Indian troops started to confiscate Mossad arms. In 1987, the Hindustan Times reported that in the Sri Lankan city of Jaffna, the troops seized large quantities of arms with Israeli markings, meant for the Tamils.
Israel panicked, since peace would put an end to their death market. The inner circle of the Indian RAW also became worried, since they were on the Mossad payroll. What would become of their paychecks? Worse, when Rajiv Gandhi drafted the peace accord, he demanded that all Israelis leave Sri Lanka, since everyone knew that Jews maintained the violence there.
Therefore the Jews (and perhaps the inner RAW circle) started plotting to liquidate Rajiv Gandhi. The Jews also increased their arms to both the Tamils and their enemies (the Singhalese) against Ghandi’s 3,000 Indian troops.
In 1989 Ranasinghe Premadasa became President of Sri Lanka
Premadasa allowed Mossad to arm the enemy (the Tamils) in hopes that the Tamils would wipe out the JVP Buddhists, and also cause the Indian troops to leave Sri Lanka. Meanwhile the Jews committed a series of false flag murders, causing all sides to escalate into worse and worse atrocities.
India’s Prime Minister Rajiv Ghandi responded by sending 97,000 additional troops.
By the following year (1990) Jewish false flags massacres had reduced Sri Lanka to a quagmire for India.
