Ultimately the UFC will continue to operate in America as a separate entity from Pride Fighting Championship(which will continue to operate on its own in Japan). This is basically a mergeance of the two fighting organizations more than anything else, but Pride will start conforming to the rules of the Nevada State Athletic Commission very soon. People were wondering whether this mergeance will lead into the "superbowl" of MMA which would result in a single combined PPV. Thats not the case, and the organizations are now interlinked permanently. This is the evolution of Mixed Martial Arts, and any of the fighters in either of these two organizations can legitamately have a one on one fight with one from the other organization. This means that if Chuck Liddel wants to fight Fedor Emelienenko, they can do that. Id personally like to see the return of the "Superfight", but with the single stipulation that this special challenge match be "open weight". Meaning that if a middleweight athlete in the UFC wanted to fight a heavyweight in Pride, they could do so in a special, open-weight challenge. The UFC and Pride could also have a combined, ultimate, open-weight tournament with all of the great fighters chosen and matched up at random, from any weight class.
Answer: I'd love to see the return of a "tournament" as well. Unfortunately Dana White says that will NEVER happen again as long as he's a part of the UFC. Too bad.

Read it and let me know what you think...
Answer: Odd.. Davies mentions W.O.W. in May 95, when they disbanded in April of 95... guess he just got around to writing them back. Also this is pretty much about Stick fighting, not about FMA in general. Dog Brothers are awesome. But Davies pretty much nailed it in this letter (you can almost taste the bitterness) about being nailed by politicians and having to be sensitive to what people will view it as... 13 years later, tons of rules and sanctioning and the UFC is still considered by many to be a "Blood Sport". It is almost better for the Dog Bros and FMA that they didn't televise this type of sparring, because it could have been outlawed and banned as the UFC and MMA nearly was. I absolutely agree with Davies as the Dog Bros was "ahead of it's time". Frankly it is true in many facets... at least in the American media sense. Traditionally that type of hard training was normal, of course most of it lost in the Fast Food Society of America. It is in a way a reemergence of realizing the value of hard sparring and testing your limits. Is the UFC crap? Absolutely not, it is the best challenge you can get in a sanctioned highly publicized event. It is certainly the most challenging combat sport. You show Dog Bros videos the vast majority of people (including MANY "Traditional" Martial Artists and they would laugh at it, be offended by it, insult it and called it "Barbaric". They would critique it to death about the lack of some sort of technique, or the unrefined and nearly ungraceful look to it. (Despite many Kendo guys go at it hard core with Shinai at the Gatherings of the Pack). The UFC at the time and even now, are in a huge spotlight, a decade later and they are STILL fighting the whole reputation from the first UFC's. If you added weapons to that equation... lord knows. As it was they were having to put on events in very few locations, many overseas and were constantly losing venues and hemoragging money. Looks like they made the right decision, but that goes to show you how long the Dog Brothers have been doing their thing.. and they are just now coming into any sort of prominence (mainly with the MMA/Alive training crowd). Also before you talk smack, do a MMA event, and do a "Gathering of the Pack". Until you get hit with a stick you can't really come on here clinging to the Dog Bros nuts. Sorry but dems da rules... Shihan J: You might want to reconsider who you think of as "MMA guys" considering the vast majority of the Dog Bros, and full contact weapon community study MMA in some form or other, and it is the MMA types that are bring full contact weapons training to the forefront. Additionally, yes it is called Ultimate Fighter... because weapons rely on just that... weapons and the availability of them. More so than that there is a hierarchy of weapons that make it a moot point... Hell, I will openly challenge any "weapon fighter" with his weapon of his choosing against my weapon of choice.. Since I am pretty sure a stick/katana/machete/naginata/nunchaku will lose to any form of firearm I choose to have, being it hand gun, shotgun, assault rifle, etc. Does that make me the Ultimate fighter? I can win with my body, and with a weapon... (Qualified expert on 6 different weapons in the Army, avid shooter still)? And I can argue that with my weapon, I can beat any and all swordsman, Kobudo weapons, stick fighter/chinese weapons/Medieval re-enactor, a vast majority of the time, unless some dubious circumstance prevents it. But say on an even playing field, both weapons deployed and at the ready, and equal distance apart... pretty sure I got most people, include Zen Archers. Maybe I am just a cocky MMA guy though...

So, do you WAX????? Only a woman can laugh at this. No one else would dare! Hope you enjoy! This has to be one of the funniest and most awful scenarios I have ever heard of... Bless this woman!!! All hair removal methods have tricked us with their promises of easy, painless removal. The epilady, scissors, razors, Nair and now.... The Wax!! My night began as any other normal weekday night. Come home; fix dinner; played with the kids. I then had the thought that would ring painfully in my mind for the next few hours; "Maybe I should do the hair removal thing for the month?" So I headed to the site of my demise; the bathroom. It was one of those cold wax kits. No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips together in your hand and then they get warm and you peel them apart, press it to your leg (or wherever else) and hair comes right off! No mess, no fuss. How hard can it be? I mean, Im no girly, girl, but am mechanically inclined enough that I can figure it out. *YA THINK!!!* So I pull one of the thin strips out. Its two strips facing each together, stuck together. Instead of rubbing them together, I get out the hairdryer and heat it to 1000 degrees. Cold wax my rear end (Oh, how this phrase haunts me!). I lay the strip across my thigh. Hold the skin around it tight and pull. OK... So it wasnt the best feeling, but it wasnt too bad. I can do this!!! Hair removal no longer eludes me!! I am She-Ra, fighter of all wayward body hair and smooth skin extraordinaire!! With my next wax strip, I move "north". After checking on the kids, I sneak back into the bathroom for the ultimate hair fighting championship. I drop my panties and place one foot on the toilet. Using the same procedure, I apply the wax strip across the right side of the bikini line, covering the right half of my vagina and stretching down to the inside of my butt cheek (Yes, it was a long strip). I inhale deeply and brace myself.... RRRRIIIIIIPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!! Im Blind!!!!! Blinded from pain!!!!!!... OH DEAR GOD !!!!!!!!!!! Im making noises that only dogs can hear . Vision slowly returning, I notice that Ive only managed to pull off half of the strip. S**T!!! Another deep breath and RRIIPP... Everything is swirly and spotted . I cannot breath or speak - I have forgotten how .. Do I hear crashing drums????? Wait a few minutes and Im back to normal (nearly) After all this I want to see my trophy !!! - A wax covered strip with my hairy pelt that has caused me so much pain, sticking to it. I want to revel in the glory that is my triumph over body hair. I hold up the strip! Theres no hair on it! Where is the hair?? WHERE IS THE WAX? Slowly I ease my head down, foot still perched on the toilet. I see the hair... The hair that should be on the strip. I touch. I am touching wax. S**T!!! I run my fingers over the most sensitive part of my body, which is now covered in cold wax and matted hair. Then I make the next BIG mistake . . . . . . Remember, my foot is still propped up on the toilet. I know I need to do something, so I put my foot down. DAMN!!! I hear the slamming of the cell door. Vagina? Sealed shut! Butt?? Sealed shut!!! I penguin walk around the bathroom, trying to figure out what to do and think to myself, "Please dont let me get the urge to poop. My head may pop off." Hot water!! Hot water melts wax!! Ill run the hottest water I can stand into the bathtub, get in, immerse the wax covered bits and the wax should melt and I can gently wipe it off, right?? WRONG!!!! I get in the tub - The water is slightly hotter than then that used to torture prisoners of war or sterilize surgical equipment - I sit. Now, the only thing worse that having your nether businesses glued together is having them glued together and then glued to the bottom of the tub. In scalding hot water!! (Which, by the way, doesnt melt cold wax) So, now Im stuck to the bottom of the tub!!! God bless the man what convinced me I should have a phone in the bathroom!!! I call my friend, thinking surely shes waxed before and has come secret of how to get me undone. Its a very good conversation starter, "So my butt and who-ha are stuck to the bottom of the tub! There is a slight pause. She doesnt have a secret trick, but does try to hide the laughter from me. She wants to know exactly where the wax is located. "Are we talking buttock cheek or is it covering - you know - Everywhere(cringe factor 20000 at this point) ?" Shes laughing out loud by now...I can hear her. I give her the rundown and she suggests I call the number on the side of the box. YEAH RIGHT!!!!!! I should be the butt of someone elses work-night jokes. While we go through various solutions, I resort to scraping the wax off with a razor. Nothing feels better then to have your girlie goodies covered in hot wax, glued shut, stuck to the tub in super hot water, and then dry shaving the sticky wax off!!! By now, the brain is not working, dignity has taken a major hike and I slip into glazed donut land. My friend is still talking with me and my hand reaches towards the saving grace...The lotion they give you to remove the excess wax. What do I really have to lose at this point. I rub some on and OH MY GOD!!!!! The scream probably woke the kids, scared the dickens out of my friend, but I really dont care!! "IT WORKS!! IT WORKS!!" I get a hearty congratulation from my friend and she hangs up. I successfully remove the remainder of the wax and then notice, to my grief and despair... THE HAIR IS STILL THERE... ALL OF IT!!!!!!!!!!! So, I shaved it off. Heck, Im numb at this point. Next week Im going to try hair colour . . . . Yes bekah17 I have posted it before! Why not........

UFC or other fighting organizations.. how would one enter without much money?

Obviously not me.. but my ex.. he has very little money (as most of us right now) but hes always wanted to join some kind of fighting organization. I think he would be happiest in the UFC (ultimate fighting championships) but hed settle for something different. Hes had training from his father and he has taught himself a lot by watching fighters. Hes a huge Bruce Lee fan also..lol. Ive seen him fight and hes honestly really good. and he has the ambition.. but money is an issue.. anyone know anything about this??
Answer: you need to be training with professionals at a very good mma gym. and it's alot different training with friends, family or self teaching.. and then going against guys who have trained their entire lives under professional instructors, and professional fighters. best thing he can do is join an mma gym that has fighters, and legit instructors and if he's as good as you say he is or he thinks he is then they'll find some fights for him.

how can I watch the Ultimate Fighting Championship fights?

I just developed an interest in this after learning a form of Brazilian jujitsu. How do I get to actually watch this? Is it on tv. or where does one see it in person?
Answer: The fight he's talking about actually comes on Saturday....the 19th...they show a lot of UFC on Spike...if you have cable you should check that channel a lot...as far as older fights you can always get on youtube and look them up...you'll find mostly any fight you want...the NEWER ones however are normally taken off youtube because the UFC doesn't wanna lose money from the actual pay-per-view...but you can always try ;^) also you can go to UFC.com they usual have a schedule of whats to come....
