How many fantasy football league teams am I allowed to manage?
I am a manager of three teams, and a commissioner of one of them. I joined a invitational league, and my draft was at 8:00 pm 08/15/07. It seems that I cannt find the league on my computer now. When I check on the league it say its Full, but I didnt get to draft, and it seems to be deleted or something. Can someone enlighten me on this?
Answer: I'm guessing you mean Yahoo Fantasy Football so.. on Yahoo you can join a maximum of 4 leagues. I think the problem your dealing with is a league you joined was deleted by the commish before the draft started, which they are able to do.

How do low league girls get treated by popular boys in school?
And do we have to always come up with a league? Cant we all just accept eachother for who we are? Thats really degrading to label someone as more worthless than the other. (especially because how they look)

Answer: It is school, not the real world.
Once everyone in your class graduates, the popular girls will be in for a bit of a shock. Everyone will face the same challenges, and they won't get everything or be treated like queens anymore.
Note that they are peaking rather early in life. In ten years, the "low league" girls will probably be blossoming, and the popular girls will be starting to look old and saggy.

Im a girl and I play baseball with the guys for rec league. I think its unfair that they dont have a womens baseball league. But they have a WNBA,women can play golf,tennis,indy race,soccer. They have men playing softball out there and to me that is messed up because usually you just see women play softball. Answer: None of them. The Ivy League schools are all private schools (They originally started attached to specific religions, i.e. Penn with the Quakers, etc) and are therefore expensive. (No state funding) However, some have more scholarship money than others. If you go to one with a huge endowment; Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Penn, you may find it easier to finance your education.

What would you do to boost the profile of Rugby League as a truly global sport?
Here we are, some ten months after the last Rugby League World Cup. Its apparently been forgotten now as everybody is concerned with their domestic competitions and club allegiances. What we as followers of the game learn from the tournament was the same story as in previous decades: the order of rugby league playing nations will continue to feature the Big Three (Australia, New Zealand and England). If you were a member of rugby leagues world governing, what would you suggest as practical areas to make the game global and competitive?
Answer: mate...good question, certainly we have the best sports package in Australia, and the big 3 (kangs, Kiwi, Lions) do hold their own. But I think RL has to be smart. They should start introducing the game in Countries that have a big union following. I'm sure when they see a different brand of Rugby, that's tough, fast & exciting it would only be a matter of time.
Like anything, it will cost a lot of money, but I think if the 3 big competition, plus the French combine their financial arsenal together and start venturing into countries like Japan, South Africa & even Russia, Italy (and not forgetting US), you can build the game from the financial interest in those markets.
But that's just a thought from a die-hard RL punter! I think the RL is a far better package than Union, in respect to entertainment, but RL world body has to think out of the box and spend money to make money...at the end of the day, we have to be realistic, you cant invest without getting some viable returns.

How does a bowling league determine prizes?
I know that each league has its own by-laws and there are differences everywhere. But there has to be a common thread out there. What is sweeps?

Answer: You're right. Bowling leagues all function by vastly differing rules.
At the end of the season, bowling leagues typically award individual prizes (usually in the form of a patch and/or trophy) for high game, high series, high average, and most improved average.
For those leagues which run on a handicap system (the majority do), there may also be prizes for most pins over average (series and/or game)
Team prizes are also often given for the team which finishes in first place, team high game, and team high series.
(The vast majority of bowling leagues involve bowling a 3-game series each week)
For bowling leagues which are United States Bowling Congress sanctioned, the USBC gives awards for such things as 300 game, 700 series, 800 series, all spares game, dutch 200 game, etc.
Teams earn two points for each game in which their total score is greater than their opponent's total (in the event of a tie, both teams get one point). The team with the larger total series wins two points.
In a handicap league, the total team score of a game is determined by adding every member's score plus every member's handicap. The team series is determined by adding the total team score of each game. Team standings, then, are determined by the win-loss record. For example, if Team A wins two games but loses one game and series one week and takes all three games and series the next, that team's win-loss record would be 12-4.
How many bowlers each team is to have (and the gender: men, women, or mixed) is also determined by by-laws. However, a team with 4 bowlers in a 5-bowler per team leauge is assigned a "blind" bowler (a standard average and handicap). In case of a bowler's absence, the bowler may pre-bowl, the team may take his/her average for scoring purposes (or the average minus 10 pins), or a team may be able to substitute. Again, all of those issues are determined in the by-laws
Teams bowl each other on a rotating basis, but certain weeks (usually 3 in a 24-week season) are set aside for rolloffs (which may be what you mean by sweeps). On rolloff week, the first place team bowls the second place team, the third bowls the fourth, and so on.
How hadicap is determined is also based on by-laws. You need to know the % and an average. For example, a league might base an individual's handicap on 80% of the difference between a bowler's average and, say, 210. A 160-average bowler in that league would thus get 40 pins handicap per game. The system is designed so that if everyone hits their average on the nose, the team with bowlers with higher averages would win.
At the end of the season, the first place team usually gets a prize (as well as the 2nd or 3rd depending on the league). There may or may not be monetary awards. If a team wins a monetary award, it is either split evenly amongst the members or the team might go out together for a nice dinner. League particpants pay a weekly fee, part of which may go to end-of-the-year awards
Awards are often distributed at a banquet at the conclusion of the season.
Some leagues are simply promotional in nature. In those leagues, awards as mentioned above may not be given, but, at the end of the season all participants might get something like a new bowling ball.

I was in the ESPN fantasy football and I went into the playoffs and won the first round and championship game. When I checked back they very guy that i beat is the league champion. Hes not even the guy with the best record or the most points in all the league but he ends up being champion? I always thought that it was who ever won the championship game was the champion. What is your favorite minor league team?
When I lived in Minnesota, I really liked the Saint Paul Saints, who are an independent minor league team who used to play in teh Northern League (I forget what their league is called now). They are well-known for crazy promotions and giveaways.
Now I live in California, and I go to a few Sacramento River Cats games every year. The promotions arent as extensive, but its still fun. And theres a lot less at stake - after all, who really cares if a minor league team loses?
Answer: There are 2 minor league teams in my Chicagoland area. The Kane County Cougers, who are an A level affiliate of the Oakland A's in the Midwest league. There are also the Schaumburg Flyers, who are in the independent Northern League. I live closer to the Flyers, but I personally go to more Cougars games because of connections my Uncle has with the owner. So I'd say the Kane County Cougars are my favorite team.
They are also very fun to attend as a child. There are special activities between innings and other things certian children can sign up for, such as a race around the bases with the mascot "Ozzie" or a go-cart race with other kids around the bases. There are also things like bouncy houses and speed pitching.

Whats the best league in the world outside of the English Premiership?
Everyone gnerally agrees that the EPL is the best league in the world right now and the ChampionS league results midweek seemed to back that up.
But, outside of the Premiership, whats the best league in the world?
Answer: La Liga. It's almost as good as EPL, but since the clubs aren't that rich, they don't get all the players they want. But Barcelona and Real Madrid are two great teams (Barcelona is the best in the world).
CGrant456, I don't care how mnay titles a team has, if a team is performing as the best team in the world currently (which is Barcelona), then they're the best team in the world. It doesn't matter how many titles a team wins, it matters if a team is playing better than another team (in this case, Barcelona is playing better than Manchester United), then they're the best. This is all unbiased.

What do I do about an idle manager in my fantasy football league?
Im the commissioner of a free yahoo fantasy football league and Im having problems with a manager. He has decided he doesnt want to be in the league anymore, and hasnt responded to emails or visited the league page in two weeks. The league Im running is a keeperS league, so I chose the "offline draft" option, and then went ahead and told the league page that the draft had been completed already. This way I could post every teams roster and they could see who all was on their team as well as everyone elses team. Because Ive done this, I can no longer delete the idle manager from the league.
My question is, how can I deal with this? I cant have the offline draft until everyone, including the idle manager, has made their cuts. Ill also need everyone in league to either be present for the draft or to send me a pre-draft list. Is there any way manipulate the tool and controls Im given to allow a different person to manage his team?
Answer: How do you know he doesnt want to be in the league anymore? Just because he doesnt responde to your emails or hasnt visited the page in 2 weeks doesnt mean anything. He could be on vacation or maybe he just isnt worried about it right now. The season doesnt even start for a couple months. I really dont understand why people have drafts so early its stupid. Fn wait till August !!!
