@scooter: Those wars were fought over capitalist profits. Its called Imperialism, the highest stage of capitalism.
@Top Source: I got it from someone who got it from someone who got it from someone... ok? I think, one of the answerers found the original source.
Answer: You hear right wingers scream "communism killed a hundred million people" all the time. What they dont know is that using the same historiography they're using to justify that communism killed 100 million people, one could easily count 200 million deaths of capitalism in all it's guises, including Colonialism, Nazism, Facism, and American backed anti Socialist movements.

Answer: And the Japanese didn't have anything to do with it? They bombed Pearl Harbor.
North Korea invaded South Korea. In World War II, Hitler was not a capitalist, and he started the war. I could go on but it isn't worth it. You listed all these incidents even though capitalism had nothing to do with it. This was a waste of time. z

china army vs singapore army who will win. are china and singapore friends?
Answer: answer is obvious...the chinese will win if singapore doesent get help from its allies such as US,Britain orAustralia....PLA will crush the Singaporeans with sheer number although most of its weapons is inferior compare to Singapore's...however,if china wants to attack singapore,it has to make negotiations with neighbors of Singapore such as Indonesia and Malaysia and get support by these countries...this is highly impossible as these countries r not in very good ties with china...also,PLA lack of long range bombers and doesent have any aircraft carriers...should war happens,i think the most effective way is for china to use its medium range missiles to attack singapore...the war between the two countries is almost impossible...its like US and Britain fighting a nuclear war with each other...two countries r in very good ties...

Choose between my boyfriend and my mom?
Hi again, I thought I would post a new question because the previous one was getting rather muddled up with confusing added detail upon added detail.
And Ill try to keep it short and clear. Basically:
1. My mom, after finding out about my LD boyfriend, had issued that ultimatum about six months ago at the beginning of our relationship. I broke up as per her wishes, but decided that I wanted to get back together and try it out, given as its LD anyways and she wont know.
2. We met when I was abroad last fall for about 3 months. We saw each other practically daily as friends, and it became a little something more towards the end of our time together. We decided to confess our feelings on a whim, and were originally not going to get into a relationship. But then we decided it couldnt hurt to try.
3. Im 20, to be 21 on 8/12. Hes 25.
4. Were both Chinese, from the same area of China. I was born there and moved to America after a couple years. He obviously still lives there, but had been considering moving out of the country to further his career. He was considering Korea or Singapore, but now America is thrown into the mix.
5. I am aiming to become a lawyer. Im currently taking LSAT prep courses and writing applications for law schools, doing internships, networking, the whole deal. He studied athletic training, was kind of lax when he was my age and partied, but now he wants to buckle down and work. He wants to either open a business, or go back to school in America for a masters in athletic training if he can get his English up to speed.
Why my mom does not approve: She thinks 20/21 vs 25 is not a big age difference, but big enough for ME because it makes us want different things. Essentially she says she knows I am grown up, but does not really trust my maturity. When we have arguments she is quick to call my maturity and logical reasoning into doubt.
Also because he still lives in China, and does not have a career on equal level as me. They are very traditional, men should be provider and make as much or more than woman. They said that woman already has to have children and take care of the home, she should not have to provide for the family as well. Also they said I could never see eye to eye with someone who has gone under Communist Chinas education.
My opinion: The only difference between us based on age is that hes been able to live away from home starting age 18 or so at college, and has not moved back for more than a couple weeks at a time since. Hes had all the time to make his own mistakes, play around a bit, and change for the better. Ive always been at home, never dormed for more than the months I was abroad plus first year in college(but went home every weekend, so it really didnt count for much), and have always been following their rules. Never really had fun in that sense-no clubbing, light drinking at best, no drugs.
As for cultural differences if I had a big sense that he is of Communist China mentality I would dump him. It is an incredible deal breaker for me for someone to be of that political mindset. So far, no. As to money I could just never marry anyone. I do not agree woman has to be coddled. If I never marry by age 40 I know I can rely on myself and my legal practice, and feel proud about it.
FYI: we have never had sex, or french kissed, or whatever. He kissed me lightly on the lips when I was about to leave. In the summer when its hot I accept that guys will want to go shirtless, but he always insists on putting a shirt on before webcamming with me because he thinks its not proper behavior.
My question: opinions, I guess. I accept that if its the right thing to break up with him its not the end of the world, and that others are out there. And that ok, Im a super idiotic mothers girl who doesnt know whats good in relationships. But everyday I know him I grow to love him, and thats at least got to count for 2 cents in this relationship war.
I believe I love him, but I understand love doesnt make the world go round, or relationships go on. Before, I was never a girl who cried or needed reassurance about these things, but since the beginning of this year Ive cried more over the trauma this ultimatum has caused than over other things in my entire life. Once in a while Ill cry an entire afternoon away because it hurts, cry in my sleep, etc.
As for dating other guys. Before I met him I was single and not looking, because I had my mother to care for and my rather ambitious career to plan for. If I break up with him Ill just go back to single and not looking-I think the answerer talking about this is somewhat in my mothers mentality. I didnt date him because I was simply interested in finding some kind of a boyfriend, and he happened to pop up and we happened to kind of like each other. By trying not to be in a relationship, I mean ACTIVELY tried, to convince myself many times over, that it would be a bad idea because of X, X, and X, and I should go be interested in closer guys. None of it worked. It felt like I was again issuing myself an order on the basis of necessary obedience to someone elses rules, if I broke up with him on the account of its an LDR and I am wasting my time being in one.
Point being. I dont think Im wasting my time. I think breaking up on the majority consensus of LDRS is not giving this relatio
Answer: You're so young. What's the hurry? When your Mom has a strong opinion about it, you don't play games.
Breakups always hurt (ask JLO!) It's a perfectly normal thing. You need to have friends around you to help you to get over. This is a part of growing up.

South East Asia vs Latin America, who would win?
I saw a guy in Y! answers pitting China, India and the Ocianian powers against South East Asia and it seems that the South East Asians would always lose since they are poor and too diverse.
So im thinking, what if there was a war between Latin America and South East Asia?
They are both dirt poor and too diverse and they squabble amongst each other

what do u think of yesterday womens table tennis final match between singapore vs china?
Yesterday 7.30pm was the final match between singapore and china over womens table tennis final. China won 3 matches and got gold medal. What do u all think and feel about this game (esp Singaporeans)?
Answer: Singapore has came a long way with their table tennis, but the skill lvl between these players are just too big, the only reason why they introduced "group match" to replace old "double match" is to give other countries at least a chance of winning the silver, as during double match days every country can have 2 teams and 2 Chinese teams always end up meet each other in the final. Can't see any other country can beat China any time soon, plus, lots of countries use Chinese in their table tennis team( like Singapore) and once these players are retired it will be hard for those countries to come up with replacement.

Doing Business in Singapore vs China | A Comparative Study
Provides a comprehensive comparative analysis of Singapore's and China's performance in various economic and business surveys.
Business Scenario Question?
Okay, the following below is a scenario that I have to give a brief speech over. I have to read the scenario and pick one of the three options given.
This in itself is very easy - what I want is an option #4. My teacher rewards people that think outside the box, so Im hoping that if I am able to come up with a good option that isnt there it will be an easy way to suck up and earn a better grade on the assignment. Please explain the answer, your answer doesnt have to be too detailed, just something that I can build off of. Thanks!
Consider the following scenario: You are the CEO of a large, U.S.-based corporation that manufactures electronics for the appliance industry. Your corporation is in the midst of joint venture negotiations with Sochu Ltd. in Asia. Sochu Ltd. is a very large electronics manufacturer with multiple plants in China, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore. This joint venture could open up the Asian market for your corporation and would likely prove to be extremely profitable for both venture partners. It may also save or perhaps even expand U.S.-based jobs in your corporation in customer service, sales and marketing and engineering in order to design products that meet new requirements in a foreign market. In short, it looks like a win-win.
However, you have just received some worrying information about this proposed joint venture. Apparently there have been some media reports of possible child labor and payment of substandard wages in some of Sochus factories. You are fully aware how critical this joint venture is to your corporations shareholders and employees. However, youre afraid that, if your company goes ahead with the joint venture, there may be considerable criticism in the media.
As CEO, what should you do?
1. Go ahead with the venture but write a letter to the CEO of Sochu LTD. about these concerns.
2. Pull out of the joint venture. The effect on your companys reputation is too great to have the companys name associated with Sochu and such possible abuses.
3. Put the joint venture on hold while the concerns are investigated, even if this upsets the venture partner (Sochu) and your shareholders.
As you ponder your answer, consider the following:
* What will be the effect of your decision on your shareholders?
* What will be the effect of your decision on your employees?
* What will be the effect of your decision on the Sochu workers in Asia? What is the trade-off between providing employment for its citizens vs. employment conditions that may not meet our U.S.-based standards.
Answer: How about you stop being lazy and do the research your self like the rest of us in BUS101. Instead of waiting for someone else to give you the answer. I hope you dont plan on doing this for every Discussion that takes place in class. You need to come up with this fourth option your self! LAZY!!!

Setting up an overseas bank account?
How can i do this online? Are there any websites to help me do this? I preferably like one in China or Singapore, but I wouldnt mind if it was in Europe. I setting it up because I recently read a report that the local currency (which is at a record high vs the US$) is set to drop dramatically in a few months, by about 15%. I wouldnt usually care, but I am going overseas next year and I want to take advantage of the high dollar, but I cant unless I buy foreign currency or open an overseas account. Opening an account would be more convenient plus i can earn interest!
If the dollar doesnt drop, whats the worst that can happen? The yuan isnt doing too bad.
Im talking about the NZ$. Sorry for the confusion
Answer: First, you cannot open up an account in China due to currency restrictions in place in China.
Good luck on trying to open up an online account in Europe. Britain is better, but I'm a huge bear against the British Pound.
You can in Singapore. There are no restrictions on foreigners, no capital restrictions and you can get an online account. The downside is two fold. First, deposit rates are ridiculously low. So if you don't mind getting close to zero interest rates then you can do that. Second, it's going to cost you a sizeable fee/spread to money either in a US dollar account in Singapore or else exchange money from US dollars to Singapore dollars due to high fees, wide bid-ask spreads and large maintenance charges. Unless you are depositing about US$100,000 - this isn't going to make any sense as the fees are too high. I live in Singapore, so I know and learned the hard way. I actually send my money (in Singapore dollars) to the US and bank in the US via ETFs.
Hong Kong can be done too, but I'm not a fan of their online services.
Here's a better way. Open up an on-line account with Scott-Trade, E*Trade, Schwab or one of the other discount brokerages. For US$20, you can buy or sell a position in foreign currency like DBV, FXA, FXB, FXC, FXE, FXF, FXM or FXS. If the US$ weakens like you think (which I don't agree with, but that's fine), then you win. If it doesn't then you can immediately get your money out. Now hassles and you get an online account.
Check out this article. However, I recommend FXA rather than FXE due to lower PPP in Australia than in Europe, plus commodity-driven economy in Australia (driven by China and India) should keep a strong A$ (whereas Euro is more fiscal/monetary policy driven).

The numbers that surprised me are, Pakistan Vs. India. And India Vs. many so called developed nations. I intentionally excluded China because of the currency manipulation by the government. There numbers are reliable.
Before anyone jumps to any conclusion about Indian debts, I would like to mentions something, we are still safe because India govt owes to its own people unlike United States, Greece or Iceland or any other country. Most of this debt is what Indian government owes to Indian people in form of government bonds, deposits, equities etc. India govt have full control in their debt. Americans at present have no problem them because they hold their debt in USD. US Govt can print USD and wash off their hand off or devalue the dollar. India has its own massive economy which consumes everything it produces unlike Chinese where they have to look for other countries to sell their products. India will be the super power of the future. No doubt. Im waiting for that day for lungi dance. And God willing I will see that day in my life. And this is not a political statement, but this statement comes right from my heart.
MR, Lungi dance means Punjabi dance. This term is often used by one of my friend who is a Sikh. This is just a term used a synonym used by me as "Happy dance" nothing more than that.
I am adding following details from one of my YA friend who sent me email on my question:
Dude....good we will become superpower in the next decade ,it is general prediction by many experts .
Public debt can nevr become a serious problem for the governments because we can repay it by printing currency (if required) or we can convert them into low interest bonds or we can pay them from sinking fund

Answer: Well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are very much correct!!!!!!
We are far safe in this aspect...
We will surely be a debt less nation in due course!!
Here is a fact that might (even) shock you!!!
Once, the Great Britain was the greatest empire over which the Sun never Sets!! But, how did the nation become small now?
Believe or not, it was due to the debt!!
Though Britain and the Empire emerged victorious from the Second World War, the effects of the conflict were profound, both at home and abroad. Much of Europe, a continent that had dominated the world for several centuries, was now in ruins, and host to the armies of the United States and the Soviet Union, to whom the balance of global power had now shifted.
Britain was left virtually bankrupt, with insolvency only averted in 1946 after the negotiation of a $3.5 billion loan from the United States, the last instalment of which was repaid in 2006.
At the same time, anti-colonial movements were on the rise in the colonies of European nations. The situation was complicated further by the increasing Cold War rivalry of the United States and the Soviet Union, both nations opposed to the European colonialism of old, though American anti-Communism prevailed over anti-imperialism, which led the US to support the continued existence of the British Empire.
The "wind of change" ultimately meant that the British Empire's days were numbered, and on the whole, Britain adopted a policy of peaceful disengagement from its colonies once stable, non-Communist governments were available to transfer power to, in contrast to other European powers like France or Portugal, which waged costly and ultimately unsuccessful wars to keep their empires intact. Between 1945 and 1965, the number of people under British rule outside the UK itself fell from 700 million to five million, three million of whom were in Hong Kong.
That was the reason behind the decolonisation of many countries. It was not only the Indian subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Bangaldesh and Srilanka) that was decolonised. It included Africa and many Asian Countries!!
