My nursing professor is picking on me, came home crying today?
im in my 2nd semester of n school. my professor has yelled at me at least 10 times
ex: 1st day she sent email saying be there at 8am b4 that she had said be there at 7 45 am (in a paper) i went with the email since she had sent that last i walk in she says im late she later pulls me into hall and 4 15 mins lecures me even tho it was her mistake, which is y she didnt count that as a tardy
ex 2: first day at hospital im ging to pts room to introduce myself my partner jumps in and i cudnt geta word in then a cleaning lady tells me im in her way 4cing me out then my instructor bursts in and yells at me saying come on communicat communicate uv been keeping a low profile
which made me draw into myself; im naturally shy
next ex: today at clinical she had said to just do a focused assessment so i asked to clarify if we had to do a full head to toe assessment she then yelled at me and said if i wasnt going to listen i shouldnt b there
late ron my pt needed insulin my instructor made it 2 hrs late i finally draw up the insulin and she said go wait in your pts room i wait 4 like 15 mins with a syringe in my hand and the pt care tech was there and my pt was wondering what was taking so long i just said i was waiting on my instructor
later on i got yelled at AGAIN about that my instructor said the pt care tech said i was waiting on my instructor-and it WAS true
my instructor further insulted me by saying that either my patent or the tech said "i was out there" wth does that mean, i did my best took care of my patient and then get insulted like that

Answer: It may not be the best way to train people, or maybe it is, idk. YOU are in the boot camp of medicine, she is telling you the way it is, and you should listen.

She is trying to help you . You are going to have to keep your head in any circumstance and you wll be facing a lot.
EDIT: then you should confront her or go over her head, yes. you don't deserve to be abused, and they will already know about her style anyway, although they probably won't call it abuse. Yes, you have to stick up for yourself, maybe that is what she is trying to teach you. who knows.

does anyone know how long the Navy PT sessions are? Im talking about the PT sessions you may go to if you need to lose weight before joining the navy. My boyfriend has to go in at 8am. is it an all day thing or just the morning?
Answer: If you are in the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) which is when someone has not yet gone to Boot Camp and is just training for Boot Camp, the PT sessions last usually 45min - Hour. It depends on the Petty Officer in charge and the fitness of the recruits, but that is average.

The car is priced low (which was what made it immediately appeal to my parents, who are helping me buy the car).
And it looks good, but Ive read about problems concerning the tires.
-I will be running the car everyday over the summer, M-F especially from 8am-5pm to get to and from my job (need that air conditioner). How reliable?
-I will obviously be loading it up with friends and family and heading to the lake for summer fun. (Anyone have issues with the seating?)
-My family lives 60 miles away in another town and I visit them often (will the car fare well on those long trips?)

Advanced, advanced campsite reservations pt II?
Hi Obviousman. I do agree with your answer..but....we recently were camping in the santa barbara area and met another camper. We all got to talking about the trouble we have with reservations and he revealed to us that he doesnt have that problem because he goes through an east coast based company and they reserve his spot a couple hours before the 8am opening. I have been searching the web for the past two days...to no avail. Anyone know anything about this....we had no reason not to believe him, he seemed to be a reliable source. Although he wouldnt go as far as to reveal his source!!
Answer: This is just a guess...but...if you asked the guy for the information for your own use and he wouldn't give it to you, I would say he was full of it! What possible reason would he have not to give you the source? especially if you became somewhat friendly with each other. Because it doesn't exist...sorry to sound skeptical. Good luck!

im a security guard and my leggs are so used to walking . and sitting down is too tiring for me. i end up falling asleep if it sit. so i stand or i walk a little. i stand for 101/2 hrs a day at my job. I work from 8am to 6:30pm. mon and tues. i work pt only here. i just had a cup of hot choclate to help me for awhile. so i need lots of adive here. i do go to bed early as well. i drive 1 hr to my job as well. help me.

Need some input, withdrawals?
My husband and I are both getting off of oxycodone 15-30mgs and it sucks so much, if you ever have the chance to try this.....DONT!! Itll ruin not only your life but anyone in your life like a loving relationship. We both know well be and are going through hell but it seems there is no end in sight, its been 3 weeks probably if not a lil more and the mood swings, anger, depression and much more is so strong you almost wana commit suicide (not that we ever would) but just to give you an idea. Weve taken several suboxin then methadone, they worked ok but seems like theres never enough plus u dont wna get addicted to them. Its terrible, does anyone know of anything that will help at all? Please let me know if you do, anything to feel normal and be happy again ive never felt the same. BUT the worst thing is my huband, he has been so hateful and nasty to me its ridiculous. last week we didnt talk for about 3 days and i finally sent him a msg sayin i couldnt take his attitude anymore and he told me he was so miserable he didnt wana be marrid anymore he wants to go party w his friend he used to have and he cant have fun with me. SO we decided he would leave since i have 2 kids 2take care of. I packed his things an we he got home from work he packed ALL his things and went to a hotel, the whole time I tried to explain to him it wasnt me iI helped him pt was the withdrawals still. He kept saying he was sick of my face and tired of being miserable and im to outspoken and wants me to shut the fuck up. And he cant be happy with anymore that im the reason hes not single & happy. Hed also rather sit on a bench alone all day then have to see me again and hes to that point with me he cant stand me. So I helped him pack his car and reminded him that I clean the house everydqy, vacuum, cook for him & the kids and make sure all his work clothes are clean, pay the bills an since im a stay at home mom i take & pick up my son from pre k and do things with his class too. MY husband then began 2 say more nasty things. He also took 1/2 our money and put n a sole acct for him. he left at 10p fri night saying he was miserable with me n we were over for good, i told him this hole thing was stupid but not gona stop him from goin if he wanted but i loved him and he said ok im niot in llove w you nemore and stormed out. I cried alot that nite and alot and saturday went 2 a friends and came home, he sent me a msg at midnight saying he hoped the kids were good and he hates that its gotten to this point, i ignored him. Again at 5:50AM HE said what do u not have time to talk, im just tryn 2 b nice. I said Whats up? he wanted me 2 knoww i was on his mind and he couldnt sleep & thinkin about me and i said ok; 8am same dy he texted again asked if i missed him or do i like bein apart better? He dropped by for a bit and we talked he cried very hard and said he didnt mean ne of it and he missed me so bad and his friends house was such a dump an he kept thinkin what was so bad whyd i leave? and was sobbing crying saying even if we dont work out i didnt deserve anything he said or did and i ws right about the withdrawals even tho i knew that and theres absolutely no excuse 4 wat he said or did, and im not letting him treat me like trash especially on my b-day 3 weeks ago i asked him to cuddle he said he didnt want to and to shut the fuck up i was crying & so hurt on my 25th bday he didnt even care or apologize. After the latest incident he finally understands im done with his attitude, obviouisly withdrawals are hard and are not gonna just go away so both parties will have to work very hard at this. i wiish every1 the very best, never give up! and done turn on one another its really not their fault itd be a shame to throw away a marriage bc of this. These things are evil and the FDA so too for creating such a beast. anything that makes your body do and feel these things is terrible. And the back pain only gets worst but you put that to the side to DT detox properly. PLEASE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR HELP TO MAKE BETTER WOULD BE WONDERFUL. Job took my position because I am pregnant?
I just got hired and started work this monday today is friday and I am being told that because I was 8 min late one day that I could no longer be the key holder and my pay would drop $2.00 and my hrs would also change and I can be a regular PT employee I am 7 months pregnant the manager at the store I am working out did not know this only the manager who hired me did. My manger at the store found out I was expecting the day I started work, she never explain what my key holder position detailed and I never got a key or anything I just have been doing the work like the regular employees have, which I thought was strange e to say the least and now two days later after being late that one time and mind you Everyone that works there has been late this week including the assistant manager but none of them besides me lost my title and secondly we never got a sch so how can you be late if you dont even have an assigned time to report? The manager never wanted me to be key holder in the first place and she had to find a reason to take that away from me because I am pregnant. I never had a you were late dont let it happen again waring neither did any of the other employees. Does this sound fair to you? Because I think that was just a cover up, I gave them my two week notice I rather not be involved with an organization the discriminates against there employees, and get this it is a christian store and today the day my position was taken I was 1 hour early and I had to wait on the manager, who took my position, who was suppose to be there at 8am to get there because she was late, I didnt start work until 8.40 am.
Answer: Is this a privately owned store? While I don't think that you will be able to prove your case which certainly does seem entirely possible, I would think that if I were the owner of the store, I would want to know that my manager did such a thing.
As an evangelical Christian myself, if I owned a business and had an employee who acted in such a way as to be doing questionable practices, possible discrimination, and unfair treatment of his/her subordinates, I would definitely want full details so that I can deal with it very strongly.
If you are leaving, I would write a very polite, brief letter to the owners stating the exact facts of what happened such as -
"1. I am seven months pregnant. I informed the hiring manager of this when hired.
2. My job title was ______________. My duties were ______, _________, and ________.
3. Due to _____________ I was 8 minutes late on ____________. Every other day this week, I was at least __________ minutes early.
4. NAME has informed me that I will be demoted, no longer by a key holder, no longer be allowed to work full-time and must be part-time, and take a $2 an hour pay cut.
5. Every other employee in the store was also late this week. No other employee has been disciplined.
6. On _________ after my demotion, NAME took over my role. She was over half an hour late. I had to wait outside in the parking lot until I could be let into the building to begin my duties.
7. In my opinion, the management practices are capricious and arbitrary. I do not wish to work for such a management team nor do I feel that I have been treated on par with the other employees. For this reason, I have given my two week notice and will be seeking employment elsewhere.
I feel confident that as the owners, you would wish to know about this situation in order to take any necessary steps to ensure that all your staff are treated appropriately and fairly. For this reason, I decided to inform of the facts, even though I will no longer be in your employ after _______ and have decided not to pursue any legal action, despite possible pregnancy discrimination on the part of your store manager. "
If you do, I wouldn't be surprised if you get a call and a possible offer of different employment. And if not, I still think that it's a right thing to do. The owners will never know if someone doesn't tell them - no different than if a hiring manager won't hire someone who is Jewish or the other employees won't associate with someone who is Hispanic or anything. The owners aren't there every day. They don't know. Informing them is a real courtesy

Mother/Sons Question?
Next month is my mothers Bday. My aunts(my mothers sisters) are wanting my two brothers and I to plan a party for our mother, inviting family members and her friends. This idea is great except for one reason, Im currently in college full-time with no income, my youngest brother is just in Grade school and my oldest is out of town(military). I would like to be excited for this bday party but Im not because I have no way to financially support it and I feel bad about it. I will be employed Feb.2011 as a cna after I complete the training but thats months away from her bday. Since learning about this party idea, I have searched for pt. work and have gotten interviews but being that I have college courses ranging from 8am-3 pm & 5pm-9pm, its kind of difficult getting an employer to work around that. MY plans for my moms bday were to have myself and my brothers take her out to a nice restaurant and present her with gifts from each of us(Keep it simple). My brothers and I schedules are so different that we havent even met up yet to discuss the party planning. Talking with one of those aunts today, she made a comment about us not being excited about the party and how we should be wanting to have this party. Not being excited it definitely not the case, its just hard to purchase food, decorations without money. Im wondering what do you guys think about this? Thanks!

Whats the going rate to pay babysitters these days?
I have a 1 year old daughter and sadly going back to work PT. I need a baby sitting twice a week (tuesdays & thursdays from 8am till 2pm) How much should I be paying them? Also do I have to supply breakfast & lunch for them?
Answer: It depends on what area you live in for how much you will pay. Probably $4 or $5 an hour I would say. It is nice to have something for them to eat at the house, too. It would be a hassle to have them always bring their own if they are in your home with your child all day.

Flea Infestation in military housing, what can be done, and what should we do?
Moved on post into military housing at our new base on 1/11/2010 and had to be moved out on 1/17/2010 because i was getting bitten by fleas. WE DO NOT HAVE PETS! We were placed into a hospitality house down the street while the house was treated for the fleas, seven days later we were told we were clear to move back into our home on 1/25/2010. yesterday while in my car i saw the first flea. but it jumped away before i could catch it and show it to them. The maintenance guy tried to make me feel as if i were lying telling me there was no way they could still be in there after all they had done. So i came home and decided i would try to catch some, as my proof that i wasnt lying. This morning (1/27/2010) while sitting in the living room talking to my husband before he left for PT around 5:30am there was one sitting on my pant leg, i walked into the kitchen and trapped it for proof, and walked back into the living room sat down, and there is another one on my other pant leg....I caught that one as well. My ? to the YAHOO world is, Can we make them move us, because obviously the house is infested! Their previous attempts to get rid of them didnt work, and we were gone for 7 days for a home we paid prorated rent for of 710.00 and we havent even been in here long, now this morning at 8am when i show them the other ones we are going to have to move again. So can we make them move us into a cleaner home, or are they allowed to keep sticking us in this flea infested home? Please any comments, anyone that knows what we can and cant request from them, i have a son, and this is an unfit situation for him or ANYBODY for that matter to be placed in!!!
Answer: take pictures as well of them and if you have bites. Take the fleas to the housing office, if they do not move you then take the fleas back and your spouse needs to go to his command about it. You should be moved but until then go to the grocery store and pick up some spray/powder to kill the fleas.

I have been getting sick want to know what is goign on.?
last night around this time i started feeling bad. About 10 miutes into my stomach hurting i felt like i was going to get sick. I went to the bathroom and got sick. Well this morning i got up went to work and was fine all day got off at my first job 8am to 1pm then went to my second job today at 3pm and i am here until 11pm. Well just a minute ago i started feeling sick again and about 10 minutes later i ran to the bathroom and got sick again. I am 23 years old and i dont have any health problems. What could cause this?? It is just strange to me that it has happen again tonight about the same time as it happen last night. I took a PT today and last time i had sex was april 28th. It cant back negative. So what could cause this??

Answer: Sometimes, just sometimes, a PT can give you a "false" negative - that is, you might be pregnant but the test says you are not. Try another test just to be sure.

NY State worker Comp question .?
My husband was injured last month at work. He filed a the correct paperwork, was seen at the hospital and needed hand surgery. After being out of work about 3 weeks the worker comp rep made arraignments with his employer to have him return to work with the use of 1 hand only.( Doctor says he is not to use the injured hand) He returned to work but needs to see the Doctor once a week and PT 2xs a week. Our question is...Should his work pay him for the time he needs to go to the appointments? He works 8am-4:30pm. Thanks for any help.
Answer: NY comp states his medical appointments are on his own time the employer does not have to pay him for time lost to see the doctor after the date of injury. Most PT places have late and weekend hours and so do most doctors.
