How do nonfarm payroll numbers affect the dollar?
What effect would a poor unemployment figure (e.g. lower than expected nonfarm payroll numbers) have on a countrys currency? Is it likely to strengthen due to lower expectations of inflation, or weaken due to less domestic productivity and higher imports?
Answer: It's hard to say. Employment is a lagging indicator, so it doesn't say much about the future - which is what be relevant to expectations of waxing or waning economic activity.

Answer: No he is post turtle.
While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, who's hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually, the topic got around to Obama the President.
The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, he's a 'Post Turtle''. Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was.
The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.
The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain.
. . . 'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, and he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with'.

Do Democrats want to do to the United States what they have done to Michigan?
Its like a third world country completely run by Liberals. High Unemployment, High Crime, Corrupt politicians, High Taxes, Union Thugs destroying the Auto Industry. Detriot is a freaking war zone!
How bad is Michigan’s labor market? Michigan is the only state to record a contraction in nonfarm payroll employment for five consecutive years. The state’s labor market is headed for its sixth straight annual decline in 2006.
Thanks Democrats - Michigan Thanks You!
Answer: Why do you blame Democrats? It is your Bush administration that has not enforced the trade laws. Nice try honey. The American auto industry has produced inferior products for years. The auto industry has nobody to blame but themselves. Washington State has been run by Demarcates for years and have probably the strongest economy in the nation. Why? They have companies like Microsoft and Boeing that produce the top quality products in their field. That is what Michigan has to do.

Anti ACORN: So now we trust government? Tell you what why dont you find me some statistics from your credible sources that paint a better picture?
Answer: The greatest problem is that real solutions would require economic collapse or acts more horrible than we want to imagine:
According to Steven Colbert, you could feed the homeless unemployed to the starving children and most of these problems would be solved.
An epidemic would indeed solve our health care problems. Our problem is that we stopped having really deadly epidemics like Spanish Influenza and Smallpox, resulting in rapid population growth. Now we have more people to feed than our infrastructure can EFFICIENTLY handle. Oh, you might say there's a capacity to create the food, but distribute it effectively? Have meaningful jobs waiting for all these new people? No. The problem is that as a species we're anticipating something like Swine Flu to cure most of these problems and we hunker down like it's going to be horrible (we've experienced a whole - oh, God, NO - TEN deaths!), but then it never happens because modern medicine beats it. And then BAM, problems from more people than we can effectively handle. It's not that we can't improve the infrastructure, but it's on such a massive scale that, by the time it gets done, the population has already grown past the new infrastructure's capability.
Completely unsolvable is poverty. The definition of poverty exists on a sliding scale, so you can never eliminate "poverty."
Meanwhile, some of these problems are the result of our national culture's personal problems:
* Greed and selfishness
* Unrealistic assessments of our creativity
* Refusal to improve because "everything is so perfect!"
* Ineffective and insubstantial investments in education, like "Sure, we'll invest in Math education!" and then there's nothing to back that statement up on the student level.
* A preference for apathy in terms of helping others, but enthusiasm for entertainment.
* Pompous assumptions that because things are going great for oneself that everyone else ought to stop complaining (Starving? So why don't they eat cake?)
* Expensive extended adventures in foreign wars.
If this doesn't sound familiar, this also describes Rome before their empire crashed and France before their bloody revolution. Granted, it's not quite THAT bad, but it's getting there. But if that happens, these issues will be compounded - for a while - and then get better, assuming a weapon is not released that exterminates all human life. In THAT narrow scenario, YES(!), you can add more people to these ranks and things will get better! (After the war, famine, and pestilence have had their way.)

For the Majority, those not enjoying Investment Tax Cuts, Is the U.S. Becoming a Third World Country?
Nonfarm payroll jobs data show that the US economy in the 21st century no longer creates net new jobs in tradable goods and services. In the 21st century, job growth in "the worlds only superpower" has a definite third world flavor. US job growth has been limited to domestic services that cannot be moved offshore, such as waitresses and bartenders and health and social services.
These are not jobs that comprise ladders of upward mobility. Income inequality is worsening, and education is no longer the answer.
The problem is that middle class jobs, both in manufacturing and in professional occupations such as engineering, are being offshored as corporations replace their American workforces with foreigners.
The latest bombshell is that even those professional jobs that remain located in America are not safe. There is a vast industry of immigration law firms that enable American corporations to replace their American workers with foreigners brought in on Work Visas.
Except for Lou Dobbs on CNN, the US TV and print media have so far ignored the astounding story. Where are the headlines: "US Jobs: No American Need Apply"?
For Millions of Americans in Service Jobs they have seen their Wages stagnate and Inflation soar. In the last 5 years, since 2002:
Food has gone up 12.2%
Milk has gone up 41%
Diapers up 27%

How is it possible for output to increase without a proportional increase in the number of workers?
Answer: The most important reason for that is probably increased (labour) productivity which can be measured in output per labour hour. Smarter machines (e.g. more automation) and more training and education to workers result in increased productivity and hence more output per labour hour.
I am sure you will be able to find a lot of info on "productivity" on the internet, e.g. in the wikipedia. Good luck.
