Answer: It's really difficult to say without knowing the circumstances as Michigan operates on a "points" system similar to the one used in federal sentencing guidelines.
Points are accumulated based on amount involved, whether a weapon was involved or present, previous criminal history, etc.
I'd also point out that breaking and entering is rarely seen on its own, so I'd except there's a larceny charge associated with it unless the person involved failed in his attempt at larceny.
In any case, taking into account his status as a repeat offender, he's looking at a maximum of 14 years for simply breaking and entering and an additional 5-10 for any associated larceny he might be convicted of.
Michigan doesn't establish mandatory minimums for that type of offense, so for a felony charge, you can assume a statutory minimum of a "year and a day" (the legal distinction between a felony and misdemeanor.)

Answer: If he is fortunate he will get off with probation, he may have to serve some time though so be prepared for that. With this being his first offense I am leaning more toward the probation. Don't let his bad behavior rub off on you!!!!

My friend who is only 16 was caught steeling a car, breaking and entering a house and throwing a party in the house. She needs to know what she is up against with the law. So I really need to know what are the charges she may face. She is a minor all this was done in Maryland.
Answer: Maryland does not use different charges for minors. Any person of any age can be convicted of almost any crime, but the trial can take place in juvenile court, and the sentence is often adjusted in a manor suited to a minor (juvenile detention rather than adult prison, half-way home, etc.)
I must say up front that I can only speculate as to the total number of charges, as there may be details in the police report you do not know, and that prosecutors are supposed to be as creative as possible to file as many charges as they can, with the idea that some will not "stick." Here are known charges from what you tell me with their MAX sentence. Max sentences are rarely given, as they final punishment is often a compromise considerably lower. Max sentence given as Years in Jail/Fine which can be one, the other or both in Maryland's law.
1. § 7-105. Motor vehicle theft. 5 Years/$5000
2. § 6-204. Burglary in the third degree. (could be bumped to 1st degree if there is intent for violence). 10 Years.
3. § 6-301. Malicious destruction. Charge depends on total damage being more than or less than $500 dollars. <$500 is 60 days/$500; >$500 is 3 years/$2500
4. § 7-104. General theft (in the amount of $X). Too variable to list, based on value (see link)
5. § 10-201. Disturbing the public peace and disorderly conduct. 60 days/$500
"Parties" are not illegal, it's the taking of items within the house and destruction of any items that are the crimes. That and any disturbance created.
Also remember that each charge can have multiple "counts" if there was more than one occurrence.

Answer: I think that would depend a lot on a few different things. #1- if your parents can pay for a good lawyer, you'll be in much better shape than if you're using a cheapo lawyer or a public defender (or have no lawyer at all). #2- if you have a good record at school and a few people who can vouch for you- like teachers, coaches, ect, then a judge will likely be more lenient. #3- if this is your first time getting into trouble, the judge will be more lenient than if you have a history of other problems with the law, school, ect.
The end result could be anything from a fine, probation, entering a rehab or juvenile detention facility. If you work hard and stay out of trouble, this won't ruin your life. If you continue to get into trouble- things will get worse.

But it depends on a number of things...the degree constituted by his actions, whether or not he had a weapon, etc.

I was arrested for attempted breaking and entering as a juvenile (17 years old) in Ohio. My record has since been expunged. After four years in the military and college and am applying to be a police officer in Texas.
I understand that Texas has class "A, B and C" misdemeanors but how would this juvenile offense transfer? I understand that I could never be a police officer in Texas if I have ever been convicted of a class A.

Answer: You won't be allowed to obtain a Texas Peace Officer License until 10 years from your juvenile conviction has passed.
Even then, most Texas agencies have lots of applicants, so your criminal history may eliminate you from being hired.
