Any pigmentation cream for blemishes on cheek, used many type cream but fail. Use Nuskin for 7mths still bad?

6yrs ago went for Laser treatment, it was very effective 70% of the blemishes gone but got to bear with the ugly redness for 2 wks and quite costly too. 2 years ago went swimming in the hot sun without apply sunblock. Blemishes came back & was even darker than before. Used Dr Secrets Pdt but it got worst & turn sensitive. Went National Skin Centre, was prescribed Hydroquinone 4% cream (Eldoquin)-skin bleaching cream. Doctor said cream is very mild, blemishes will be lighter. But whenever I apply my face turned blackish red & itchy, this lasted more than 1 wk before it goes back to normal. Went back & Drs do not know why it causes redness & itch. No faith to go back NSC. Now using Nu Skin Whitening Range (for 7mths)& also tried Verde Whitening(10months& has not continue after I finished). The creams give me no problems nor do they help remove or whiten my blemishes. I feel cheated, both consultants assured me that the products is good & will whiten blemishes within 3-4mths

HELP! Eczema lead to Perioral dermatitis, what would you do if you were me?

Ok, I know this is going to be the longest question on here but it will only take 15 minutes of your time as I really need advise on this issue. Ive just finished typing out my drug medical history and Im hoping I will get kind souls to help me out with my skin problem. Old ways Last time I only washed my face with water, no moisturizer, no toner, and no facial wash. It was just water from the tap. I only started out washing my face with commercial product at the age of 14, Clean and Clear. I didnt have breakouts; I just used it because I heard that you have to take care of your skin especially during puberty. After some time I began to feel my skin was tight after every wash and eventually figured that I have sensitive skin. The problem started out from 2004. 2004 September (aged 16) I got chicken pox during June and it lasted for one and a half month. After that, I developed a rash on my left thigh, and an on and off watery blister thing on my face. I went to a polyclinic (government one) and got referred to National Skin Center (NSC is an outpatient specialist dermatological centre with a team of dermatologists who have the experience and expertise to treat every skin condition, the center also belong to government.) because is cheaper. Ill be able to get subsidies for the consultation fee (not including medication), which means gov will pay half for the consultation. But every visit I go will be consult by different dermatologist because mine is subsidies. The dermatologist prescribed me Betamethansone Valerate 0.05% and moisturizer for the rash on my tight, he didnt prescribe anything for my face because he said its normal to have this after chicken pox. He suggested I should use Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser for my face because I have sensitive skin. The rash on my left thigh went off after one week of applying only that Betamethansone Valerate 0.05% cream; I did not apply moisturizer because my guts feeling told me not to. After some time, the watery blister on my face also went off. The rash never comes back. By the way during that time I did not know and was not informed that that cream was a steroid cream. 2004 Nov I began to have this a bit red and peeling problem going on at both corners beside my lips, so I went back to NSC to treat the problem and was given a cream called Decocort by different dermatologist, and was told to use a kid’s toothpaste. The cream is an antifungal cream with steroid in it. Again, nobody told me it had steroid in it, and I wasnt informed I had eczema. So I stupidly used it 2 times daily for 6 months and it got cleared off so I stopped the cream. 2005 June (age 17) I went back to NSC to treat my pimples, it wasnt a lot, just a very mild pimples, and was given Stevia-A by another dermatologist. I used it daily for 4 months and it worked wonders. ------I stopped all creams for one year plus----- 2006 December (age 18) I attended my sisters wedding, I wore a full makeup, and the brand was Cliniques. It was the first time I wore makeup and also the final time. After washing off the makeup, I noticed the corner of my lips became dry. The next day, it started to peel again. I realised the 2004 Nov problem has returned. I tried to use back Decocort for a month but it doesnt seem to be effective anymore. I went back to NSC and told the dermatologist (yes a different one) about this problem and he sent me for a skin patch test. It turned out that I was allergic to a fragrance called "Lyral". Lyral is a fragrance that is present in many cosmetic products. I was prescribed Betamethasone 0.0125% and white soft paraffin for the problem. I was told to apply white soft paraffin after 15 minutes of applying Betamethasone 0.0125% but that white soft paraffin was very greasy and made the condition appeared more obvious, so I took that out and only applied Betamethasone 0.0125%. I wasnt told when to stop so I used it for 4 months daily, and on and off for another 3 months, I finally stopped using the cream because I realised its giving me pimples. So the total duration of using that cream was 7 months of prolong and on and off use. 2007 August (age 19) I spent a month time treating my pimple by using back Stevia-A, the result was very slow. 2007 September I went back to NSC to treat my pimple again, I told the new dermatologist I was on Stevia-A 2 years ago which worked wonder but now it doesnt seem so, and he told me not to use it and prescribed me Panoxyl Benzoyl Peroxide acne gel. But first I decided to let my face rest for 2 months. 2007 October I began to have a bit of red little itched bump, it didnt come in like a huge rash but it was like one bump on my ankle, the other at somewhere on lower limb. It was very itchy, so I went back to NSC and gotten a new tube of Betamethansone Valerate 0.05%, which I used to treat my left thigh back in 2004. But it doesnt work anymore and I went back to NSC again and another dermatologist gave me the same cream but a stronger dose, Betamethansone Valerate 0.1%, and it worked. But the problems came back regularly, like 1 to 3 little red bumps every month. 2007 Novevember I finally applied the Panoxyl Benzoyl Peroxide for 2 days, the pimples did go off but it burned and it stung my face like mad. This was a last minute issue so I didnt manage to book an appointment with NSC. I went to see my nearby GP and he prescribed me 5 days of oral steroid, 5 days of oral antihistamine, and Hydrocortisone 1% (the type that you have to store it in a fridge). I applied the Hydrocortisone 1% on my entire face and stayed at home for 2 weeks, it was during school holiday. The problem went off but due to the weather and the sun exposure, I received redness on my cheeks occasionally. I carried an umbrella whenever I go and tried to stay indoor as much as possible. 2007 December to March I must admit I spent like the following months obsessing with dealing my face, I went to see another GP, and also another dermatologist (private dermatologist, not from nsc, super expensive) for the redness but ended up getting almost the same cream like what my nearby GP gave. So I decided to go back to the nearby GP again and told him my cheeks were painful and he told me to stop all creams, he also told me not to use the creams from NSC anymore, and only eat his antihistamine. He refused to give me oral steroid again because he said I might get possible side effects like weight gaining, fatness to my face, joint/bone problem. So he gave me 10 days of antihistamine tablets. The condition finally got under control, but antihistamine gave me chapped lips, also, the red and peeling at the corners of my lips has not solved yet. Also, I noticed the side of my nose was very dry, peeling, scaly, and red. 2008 April (age 20) I went back to NSC and I demanded to see a specialist dermatologist, because the previous ones were all different dermatologist during each visit. I wanted one that could concentrate and keep up with my condition. So I was transferred to see a specialist dermatologist, Dr.Mark. I am no longer under the subsidies scheme, because I requested for a specialist, which means I have to pay for the whole consultation. Anyway, I told Dr.Mark about these entire problem that has been bugging me for years, and he used a torch light look-alike kind of thing (I dont know what was that but it was huge and the light was very bright) and finally said I have eczema. He told me its mild eczema. -_- And he said this, "First of all Ill have to tell you there is NO CURE FOR ECZEMA. I know this may upset you but I will need to let you know the truth because there really isnt any cure. You can manage your eczema, keeping it under control by using topical steroid cream and moisturizer. But dont worry; your condition is mild eczema, I suspect is Atopic Eczema. Also, you can only treat one problem at a time; you cant treat pimples and eczema at the same time because these two do not go along together." I was thinking in my heart, "What the, so all along I have eczema and none of the dermatologists in your center has mentioned anything about it?!" I also told him that steroid cream gives me pimples but he was not convinced. He said that the ones Ive been receiving for my face are low dose, it shouldnt give me pimples. He told me its puberty and I was like, "But Im already 20, what puberty?!" In the end he told me to continue and use the Betamethasone 0.0125% for the corners of my lips problem, QV lip balm (something like Vaseline that has petroleum) and also gave me Desonide Desowen Lotion 0.5% to apply once at night around my nose. I only tried the Desonide Desowen Lotion 0.5% once and I really didnt feel good about it so I stick with Betamethasone 0.0125%. I also did not feel good with that QV lip balm because it was greasy. 2008 May I went to Indonesia and during the trip, I gotten a heat rash kind of thing all over my chest, and a bit of those little red itchy bump appearing on my legs. By then since I was told its eczema so I just applied that Betamethansone Valerate 0.1% for 3 days, it got cleared off. When I returned from the trip, the heat rash came back to my chest again and by then I was frustrated with steroid creams already. I had a feeling there must be something wrong with steroid cream. So I immediately went to see Dr.Mark, which I had to pay extra charge because it was a last minute appointment -_- I requested for an alternative treatment because Ive figured all these steroids have cause my skin sensitive to the sun, giving me pimples, and flushing cheeks etc. He then prescribed me a non-steroid cream called "Elidel". I put it on my chest, the side of my nose, and the corners of my lips and within that 3 days of using Elidel I developed cough. By the way, I had a long term cough that lasted 1 and 1/2 year from end of 2006 to 2008. I have no asthma and did many tests in the hospital; during that time I was under by a throat and lung specialist but couldnt solve the root of the problem. He just kept putting me on cough syrup, tablets, nose spray, asthma spray nothing seemed to work. I also did an asthma test, throat test, nose test, x-ray, whatever that has connection with cough and it all turned out negative. Then in the end guess what the specialist found out? He said I must be stress with school work. He told me there is nothing wrong with my throat or my lungs; he said my cough is connected to stress. HE WAS WRONG. I was fed up with him and all these western medications so I decided to see a Chinese physician, the physician checked the pulse by placing three fingers on my left wrist, and told me to tip my head up and open my mouth widely so that he could look at the problem in my throat. The Chinese physician told me the vein in my throat is very red, means it has been burned by something. At first I thought it sounded like a joke but I decided to try it anyway since Ive already spent so much money in the hospital. After 3 visits with the physician, within one month of drinking herbs, my cough was cured. I did not cough for 8 months. It only returned when I started using Elidel cream. Ok back to Elidel, so I stopped the cream and went to see the physician and my cough got cured within 5 days. Later, I went back to use Betamethansone Valerate 0.1% for 2 days. I only applied that Betamethansone Valerate 0.1% on my chest for 2 days and it went off. I know I’ve mentioned I dont feel good whenever I apply steroid but it was really out of no choice. 2008 July The redness on my cheeks returned and I did not dare to apply the Betamethansone Valerate 0.1% on my face because it was a higher strength than Hydrocortisone 1% in terms of steroid. I went back to the nearby GPs clinic; I didnt see him directly but bought his Hydrocortisone 1% cream and antihistamine tablet again over his counter. I decided to use it for only 3 days but still, it gives me pimples and chapped lips again. 2008 August The problem beside of my lips got worse and my chin also looked pink. I went back nsc, Dr.Mark, and told him about the Elidel problem and again, he was not convinced that Elidel would cause internal reaction to my body and he prescribed me Fluocinolone 0.003125%, ProTopic and Cetaphil Moisturizer Cream. He told me to use the Fluocinolone 0.003125% for awhile, when my condition gets better switch it to ProTopic. I used Fluocinolone 0.003125% for 3 days and my chin turned from pink to red. So I switched to Protopic and it totally stung my chin badly, very painful. The Cetaphil Moisturizer Cream wasnt helpful because it was very greasy and I found that it has mineral oil in it. I stopped all the creams for 2 weeks and during that 2 weeks I decided to do a research about mineral oil, paraffin, and petrolatum because all these have the greasy feel going on which I find it disgusting. I found out that all of these ingredients actually form an oily film that sits on top of the skin, preventing moisture from evaporating. It has a drying effect, it actually suck out the moisture of your lips/skin, which is why you have to constantly reapplying it. During that 2 weeks I decided to stop using that lip balm. I drank at least 10 glasses of water a day and continued this routine for 10 days, and the chapped lips went off miraculously. O.O 2008 September One morning I woke up and realised I suddenly have little scab, white little bumps on my chest and forehead, and a bit on the side of my face, those were not itchy. But there was a triangle shape form of orange scab appeared on the skin thats above my mouth area, it was VERY ITCHY. I quickly opened my fridge and took out the Hydrocortisone 1% cream and applied it on the triangle shape scab for 3 days, and it disappeared. But it came back again after a week so I applied the Hydrocortisone 1% cream again for 3 days and it went off. But it came back AGAIN and AGAIN so I rushed to NSC to see Dr.Mark. At that moment he wasnt in the clinic so I was send to see another dermatologist who told me to use back Elidel despite the cough. His name is Dr.Melvin, he was like Dr.Mark, he does not believe Elidel cream would cause internal reaction to my body. He told me to continue with Elidel. -_- I was like, ok, fine, I’ll give it a try again for 2 weeks and see how it goes. During that 2 weeks Elidel did stop those itch on my face and reduce the little bumps on my chest BUT LO AND BEHOLD, the cough returned and it came together with flu and dry throat. I went to the website of Elidel and sent and email to them about my situation. Whoever that was in charge replied my email and told me this, "Thank you for your interest in Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. We received your email and we appreciate you taking the time to contact us. You asked us a question about the side effects of Elidel. The most common side effect at the skin application site is burning or a feeling of warmth. These side effects are usually mild or moderate, happen during the first 5 days of treatment, and usually clear up in a few days. Call your doctor if the burning feeling is severe or lasts for more than 1 week. Other side effects include headache, common cold or stuffy nose, sore throat, influenza, fever, viral infection, and cough. Some people may get viral skin infections (like cold sores, chicken pox, shingles, or warts) or swollen lymph nodes (glands). Talk to your doctor if you have a skin infection or if side effects (for example, swollen glands) continue or bother you. These are not all the side effects with Elidel Cream. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information." I finally stop that cream and went to see my Chinese physician. I told him about this problem and he told me to stop using steroid cream. He told me that he will treat my cough first, after recovering from cough he wants me to come back and he will treat my eczema. He said there is a cure for eczema; its something to do with our immune system and liver. He told me to stop using those creams. After the visit, Ive recovered from cough after drinking the herbs for 3 days but have not return and visit him. 2008 November 18 (last week) After 10 days of not using any cream, I actually feel good emotionally. BUT the next day after the 10th day, a mild eruption form of little pimple/scab kind of thing appeared on my face, its a bit itchy. Also, theres a rash at the back of my left knee. I was super paranoid, super frustrated already. I took a half day leave from my part time job, printed out the email that Elidel replied and went to the NSC Dr.Mark and show it to his face, in a polite way of course. Then he told me the only option left for me is to go back to topical steroid. I also told him about the moisturizer that has mineral/oil/petroleum problem and he ended up prescribing me Desonide Desowen Cream 0.5% (previously was lotion), and a moisturizer called Physiogel Al Cream and told me to try it for 4 days and see how it goes. These are the ingredients of the moisturizer. Aqua, Olea, Europaea, Glycerin, Pentylene, Glycol, Palm Glycerides, Olus, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Squalane, Betaine, Palmitamide MEA, Acetamide MEA, Sarcosine, Hydroxyethyl-cellulose, Sodium Carbomer, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum But still, I dont feel good about moisturizer. Yes I know moisturizer claim to protect skin from drying but you see its still made out of chemical, and I cant even pronounce most of those chemical names and only God knows if its good or bad chemical. I requested to do have a food allergy test, he agreed. I also asked him what exactly is ths type of eczema I’m having on my face and he decided to send me to another test, which was a IgE test (to determine what type of eczema I have). So total I took 2 tests. The pissed part was that he has NEVER mentioned anything about taking oral antibiotic or oral erythromycin as an alternative treatment to clear the itch and stuff. How I knew about this was because after I came back from the visit I decided to do an extreme research about steroid cream and it lead me to this site, http://pediatrics.about.com/od/weeklyquestion/a/05_perioral_drm.htm You dont have to click it, Ill copy the important part here and it says, "In many situations, a child has a simple rash caused by irritation and is treated with a steroid cream. While that helps the rash get better for a little while, it then gets worse again and eventually doesnt respond to the steroid cream anymore. If you are using a steroid cream and think that she may have perioral dermatitis, then you should stop using it. Be warned that the rash will get worse once you stop using the steroids and will then gradually get better. Sometimes, a topical or oral antibiotic is also needed to help perioral dermatitis go away." After reading it, I suspect I have perioral dermatitis, like I mentioned Ive been depending steroid cream etc and it has now worsen the problem when the moment I stopped and causing me having those itchy scab/bump lookalike thing on my face. So I continued the research and found out that those who people who got perioral dermatitis eventually stopped all cream and got treated by taking oral antibiotic or oral erythromycin (another type of antibiotic) alone from 4 to 12 weeks, and their inflammation got cleared off completely, I found it here, with images http://pediatrics.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=pediatrics&cdn=health&tm=2&f=00&su=p284.9.336.ip_p726.4.336.ip_&tt=2&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//dermatlas.med.jhmi.edu/derm/result.cfm%3FOutputSet%3D2%26BO%3DAND%26Diagnosis%3D93 2008 November 22 (Last Saturday) Ive used the Desowen cream for 4 days together with that moisturizer since the last visit. Those mild eruption forms of little pimple/scab kind of thing are not that obvious anymore. I must admit its the "help" of the Desowen but I have a feeling it will still come back for more. I really feel like stopping the cream because I dont want to see my face from mild eczema turn into moderate eczema or severe. My blood test results will only be out next Thursday. Ive read some the side effects of taking oral erythromycin may include abdominal pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting. Do you think it is worth to take the risk? Seriously Id rather suffer the side effects from oral erythromycin than seeing my face keep getting itch and those rashes. And I printed out the 2 links of information and images of Perioral Dermatitis. I brought it to the nearby GP to have a look at it. I asked if he could give me the oral erythromycin intake for a month but he said he can only let me to try it for one week. He said that too much of oral erythromycin will cause liver problem. And he went on and said, "See, Ive told you before to stop all creams and just leave the rash alone. I myself also have a bit of rash on my face and I ignored it and it went off itself." I finally broke down to tears and went silent. I think because of that the GP didnt charge me for the consultation fee. :-/ He told me not to use Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, because it still has chemical in it. He told me to wash my face with water and just leave it alone, no more steroids, no cream, means no moisturizer as well. He also told me to come back when Ive gotten the blood test results and he would see if he could give me more oral erythromycin. 2008 November 28 The GP visit was on a Saturday but I decided to start the intake on Monday (November 24). I’ve being eating the antibiotic for 5 days now, and have been following his instruction by cleaning my face with only water and leave it alone. And yes, the thing has returned and it’s still itchy, peeling, red, flaky, and experiencing the burning feeling. I know from the perioral dermatitis research it says that the rash will get worse once you stop using the steroids during the first 2 weeks but will then gradually get better. I’ve read many research and found out that the most reliably effective treatment is oral antibiotics, taken in 6 to 12 weeks. If left untreated, perioral dermatitis can persist for months. :( By the way, I’ve gotten back the IgE blood test and Food Allergy Test. My IgE stated 73 IU/ML. I called up to NSC and asked what does it mean and the person told me any number that’s under than 87 is normal. The food in the test are Hazelnut, Lobster, Sacharomyes Cerevisiale, Shellfish Mix, Squid, Chicken, Codfish, Corn, Crab, Egg White, Milk, Peanut, Potato, Rice, Shrimp, Soyabean, and Wheat. The food allergy test on the print-out all stated class 0, which means I’m not allergic to any of those. I’m not really a verbal person so I’ve printed out these 15 pages out and have both GP and NSC Doctor.Mark to have a read about it. I have an appointment with Dr.Mark on the 2nd December Tuesday, but I’ve already passed this file to him 3 days ago during my lunch break from work; because I don’t think he would read it on the spot. But I don’t know if I should go back to him as I’m afraid he would give me more creams, the consultation is very expensive too, and he always says, “Don’t worry, yours is mild eczema.” -_- I mean, how can I not worry? It’s like my face has been depending on steroid for prolong and on and off period and when the moment I stop, the problem comes back greater. No wonder they say eczema rash will always come back because the fact is that we are told to use those cream and when we stop, of course the problem will come back because we are too depend on it, doesn’t that make sense? My colleague also told me to stop the steroid cream because she said not just oral steroid would cause fatness to the face but the cream as well, she has a friend who was on steroid cream and her face has turned fat and swelling. I intend to throw away that big bag of steroid creams in my house and I believe whoever that suffers eczema will understand this. :( 2008 November 29 (Saturday, yesterday) I’ve submitted this file to the nearby GP. This is what I wrote, Hi Doctor, This is *********, who came to your clinic last Saturday regarding my skin problem. The following 13 pages are a history of medication I took; and also more research and images on perioral dermatitis. I’ve posted this on an answer and question website but I thought I should show it to you as well. I’ll be coming back to your clinic on Monday; I can’t expect you to read it on the spot so I thought of passing this file to you today instead. I know your time is precious but out of exasperation I hope that you will be able to read it through and help me out with this problem. The antibiotic you have given me is finishing soon and I really don’t know if I should go back to the Dermatologist from National Skin Center on this coming Tuesday. If you have any question regarding this, please contact me at ******** With Thanks & Best Regards, ****** Also, I measured my weight and found out I’ve lost almost 5 kg. During that saga of creams from 2005 to the end of 2007 my weight increased from 45 to 55kg. I suspect this is due to steroid cream, cough medications, those processed meats and also lack of exercise in fear of sweating might aggravate my condition. But when I started out my college, I began to lose weight and it was also due to stress, I lost from 55kg to 48kg. Then later, the “obsession” with steroid (it’s not like I had a choice) increased my weight to 51kg. But now only after like one week of “detox” diet, from last Saturday to this Saturday, I am weight 46kg. Also, I usually digest only twice a week, but ever since I started out the diet and antibiotic intake I’ve been digesting almost TWICE A DAY. Is it because I ate 3 serves of vegetables and brown rice only? Or is it the help of antibiotic? And since I’ve gotten back the food allergy result, do you think I should go back and have a balance diet by combining with fish? I don’t intend to eat meat like chicken, pork and beef but I’m thinking about fish because it’s more beneficial. Or should I continue eating 3 serves of vegetables and brown rice only? I’ve quit my job because of this problem, because the air-conditioning area is disturbing. It’s a part-time job by the way; I’m actually on a long term school holiday. I intend to stay at home for the next 2 months to treat my face problem. I know I sound vain but I really don’t dare to face anyone. What would you do if you were me? Go back to the GP on Monday to see if he could give me more antibiotic? Or go back to the Dermatologist appointment on Tuesday? Or stop both and go to the Chinese Physician? And does exercise helps? I used to do a lot of sports but gave up because of this problem, I was afraid that sweat might aggravate my problem. Eczema is ruining my life! 2008 November 30 (TODAY) I called up my sister and broke down over the phone. Because my right cheek is really painful, and red. My left cheek is flaky, dry and a bit itchy. I really dont know what to do anymore. My sister advised me that if I go back to NSC on Tuesday the dermatologist would continue give me the same old crap advise that I already know. She told me that the nearby GP sounds more professional because hes more a cautious person. She told me that if the GP doesnt want to give me any more oral antibiotic intake then stick back to taking oral antihistamine. She said this, Would you rather have chapped lips or seeing your cheeks red and flaky? You can only choose one now. Do you think I should go back and take oral antihistamine? Also, can anyone please tell me if oral antihistamine can reduce the redness, flakiness, and painfulness on my face? Ive went cold turkey and very paranoid with applying creams already. Please help! Also, all I want to know if whether my skin will ever be normal again if I just stick back with taking oral antihistamine and just wash my face with water. Im really depressed right now.

New Delhi, June 30 (IANS) If you think the only way to get rid of annoying body hair is to go through the physical pain of waxing or the mental agony of shelling out a bomb on laser therapy, then you probably havent yet discovered the virtues of spearmint tea and lemon-honey paste.

Wimbledon 2011: yet again Murrays dream is dashed

The saltires can remain furled, bell ringers across the country can refrain from giving us their rendition of "Flower of Scotland", the All England Clubs new bronze statue will not be commissioned this year: Andy Murray is not, after all, the first Briton to reach a Wimbledon final since 1938.

How come Singapore doesnt have this kind of skin treatment for Eczema patients?

By applying acidic water on the infected skin, and drinking alkaline water to cleanse the body inner system. That Akashi Hospital from Japan has already been using that method to CURE over 20,000 eczema patients, the method has been there for 11 years. How come the National Skin Centre in Singapore is still using those stupid steroid creams?! Check out these amazing videos 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtPh_83aQWE 2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxLW-HKgQzU By the way, is there any place in Singapore where I can buy that electrolysis water generator (shown in the second video)? If no, Im gonna send my brother to Japan! Wow thanks Sari! By the way, I have OCD and my house is super clean.
Answer: Information is everywhere when you look for it. People should take charge of their own health and question EVERYTHING, including those from 'reliable' sources because large organisations have their own agenda that is not always altruistic. Then make up your own mind. Your brother and family may need to take a good, hard look at your overall lifestyle, food/diet and home/environmental allergens, not just your drinking or bathing water. Common food allergens are dairy, wheat, citrus, certain types of meat. Environmental allergens are things like rugs, bedding (dust mites, mould), synthetic fabrics, household detergents, soap, shampoo, etc. When I lived in England, amongst other things, I had severe rhinitis/hayfever, I shed and moulted painfully like a lizard in summer with bad rashes that often bled and weeped. It heightened after my daughter was born and I found that she was also sensitive to a host of things everyone has around the house that we all take for granted. So I had to take a radical approach by changing the way we lived and ate. I breastfed her till she was three because of her allergies at some cost to my own health. About 50-70% of our food was organic. And we still avoid tinned or other processed food as far as possible. I don't eat meat any more, just a little fish. I'm hoping for my daughter to convert in her own time, no pressure whatsoever from me. Because I understand and still get off on the sensory pleasures of food (I'm Singaporean after all), even things that are sometimes not so good for you. I don't believe in everything that Western medicine has to offer, though I don't throw out the baby with the bath water. Pun unintended. Doesn't gut already tell you there's something wrong with popping a pill or applying a cream that only suppresses symptoms, for as long as you pop that pill or apply that cream? Be clear of the actual role of medicine, in that it supports your body to heal itself because of its marvellous innate rejuvenating properties. It is NEVER the cure. And what after, if you don't change the conditions that caused the ailment in the first place? We used to go to a homoeopath in London and saw a medical qigong sifu in Singapore three to four times a week for half a year. I now work in complementary health myself. I don't like the word 'alternative' to decribe ancient wisdoms much older than Western medicine that has only been around for three or four hundred years. You could always get in touch with Kangen in Japan and have it shipped over, if you think that one thing is your only solution. Be prepared though that that alone may not work perfectly and that you have to look at the gestalt AND root of the problem. Be prepared for the medium to longer haul, because we're not using the same quick-fix principles of Western medicine. It may also be that your brother has weaknesses in his biology that has to be handled with nutrition. There may be other environmental triggers, not just the water. I use a water alkalinizer/ionizer for my drinking water from Kemp Trading. I believe they can convert your shower and bath as well, but I haven't used those myself. Tel: 6272 5337 The slight downside is that I can't drink water straight from the tap any more. It tastes absolutely nasty. It's been a number of years since we moved back to Singapore. We've had less of a reaction to commercial household products here but I'm slowly converting to more environmentally friendly ones anyway from Amway Singapore. They do a water ionizer too but can't vouch for its efficacy.

HELP! Any Eczema sufferers here, or people who study med or Chinese herbs, vegetarian and detox diet?

-_- The dermatologist prescribed me Betamethansone Valerate 0.05% and moisturizer for the rash on my tight, he didnt prescribe anything for my face because he said its normal to have this after chicken pox. 2004 Nov I began to have this a bit red and peeling problem going on at both corners beside my lips, so I went back to NSC to treat the problem and was given a cream called Decocort by different dermatologist. ------I stopped all creams for one year plus----- 2006 December ( age 18) I attended my sisters wedding, I wore a full makeup, and the brand was Cliniques. 2008 December to March I must admit I spent like the following months obsessing with dealing my face, I went to see another GP, and also another dermatologist (private dermatologist, not from nsc, super expensive) for the redness but ended up getting almost the same cream like what my nearby GP gave. 2008 April (aged 20) I went back to NSC and I demanded to see a specialist dermatologist, because the previous ones were all different dermatologist during each visit. -_- And he said this, "First of all Ill have to tell you is there is NO CURE FOR ECZEMA. I know this may upset you but I will need to let you know the truth because there really isnt any cure. You can manage your eczema, keeping it under control by using topical steroid cream and moisturizer. But dont worry; your condition is mild eczema. Also, you can only treat one problem at a time; you cant treat pimples and eczema at the same time because these two do not go along together." I was thinking in my heart, "WTF, so all along I have eczema and none of the dermatologists in your center has mentioned anything about it?!" I also told him that steroid cream gives me pimples but he was not convinced. I have no asthma and did many tests in the hospital; I was under by a throat and lung specialist but couldnt solve the root of the problem. He just kept putting me on cough syrup, tablets, nose spray, asthma spray nothing seemed to work. I also did an asthma test, throat test, nose test, x-ray, whatever that has connection with cough and all turned out negative. Then in the end guess what the specialist found out? He said I must be stress with school work thats why I kept coughing. He told me there is nothing wrong with my throat or my lungs, he said my cough is connected to stress. HE WAS WRONG. I was fed up with him and all these western medications so I decided to see a Chinese physician, the physician was very pro. He checked the pulse by placing three fingers on my left wrist, and told me to tip my head up and open my mouth widely so that he could look at the problem in my throat. He told me the vein in my throat is very red, means it has been burned by something. At first I thought it sounded like a joke but I decided to try it anyway since Ive already spent so much money in the hospital. After 3 visits with the physician, within one month of drinking herbs, my cough was cured. I did not cough for 8 months. It only returned when I started using Elidel cream. Ok back to Elidel, I stopped the cream and went to see the physician. And my cough got cured within 5 days. 2008 August, The problem beside of my lips got worsen and my chin also looked pink. He was like Dr.Mark, he does not believe Elidel cream would cause internal reaction to my body. -_- I was like, ok, fine, I give it a try again for 2 weeks and see how it goes. During that 2 weeks Elidel did stop those itch on my face and reduce the little bumps on my chest but lo and behold, the cough returned and it came together with flu and dry throat. I went to the website of Elidel and sent and email to them about my situation. Whoever that was in charge replied my email and told me this, Thank you for your interest in Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information. I finally stop the cream and went to see my Chinese physician. I told him about this problem and he told me to stop using steroid cream. He told me that he will treat my cough first, after recovering from cough he want me to come back and he will treat my eczema. He said there is a cure for eczema, its something to do with our immune system. He told me to stop using those cream. Ive recovered from cough after drinking the herbs for 3 days but have not return and visit him. 2008 November 18 (it was 4 days ago) After 10 days of not using any cream, I actually feel good mentally. The next day after the 10th day, a mild eruption form of little pimple/scab kind of thing appeared on my face, its a bit itchy. I also told him about the moisturizer that has mineral/oil/petroleum problem and he ended up prescribing me Desonide Desowen Cream 0.5% (previously was lotion), and he FINALLY prescribed me a moisturizer called Physiogel Al Cream and told me to try it for 4 days and see how it goes. He also sent me to take two blood tests, one was food allergy test, and the other was IgE test (to determine what type of eczema I have). Sometimes, a topical or oral antibiotic is also needed to help perioral dermatitis go away." After reading it, I suspect I have perioral dermatitis, like I mentioned Ive been depending steroid cream etc and it has now worsen the problem by giving me those itchy scab/bump lookalike thing. So I continued the research and found out that those who people who got perioral dermatitis eventually stopped all cream and got treated by taking oral antibiotic or oral erythromycin (another type of antibiotic) alone for at least one month and their inflammation got cleared off completely, I found it here, with images http://pediatrics.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=pediatrics&cdn=health&tm=2&f=00&su=p284.9.336.ip_p726.4.336.ip_&tt=2&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//dermatlas.med.jhmi.edu/derm/result.cfm%3FOutputSet%3D2%26BO%3DAND%26Diagnosis%3D93 2008 November 22 (TODAY) Ive used the Desowen cream for 4 days together with that moisturizer. And today, I printed out the 2 links of information and images of Perioral Dermatitis. I brought it the nearby GP to have a look at it. :-/ He also told me not to use Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, because it still has chemical in it. He told me to wash my face with water and leave it alone, no cream, means no moisturizer as well. After typing out all these I still have not taken the oral erythromycin. Yes, at first I was hoping to get it but now Im quite hesitate to eat it after hearing what the GP said about oral erythromycin affecting liver problem. Man, what should I do? Do you think I should go back to the Chinese physician and let him treat my condition or should I just try out with the oral erythromycin first? Ive actually tried cutting out all the processed meats before but gave up after one week because by eating vegetables and fruits only made me feel tired. As you know meats give you energy. But now for the sake of my skin Im willing to restart the detox diet. I’m used to eat white rice, do you think it’s better to replace it with brown rice? If anyone has the list of detox diet please do tell me, Im really frustrated with my condition and desperate for help. I dont have much money left to buy any detox diet book; I can only get my pay end of this month. And does exercise helps? I used to do a lot of sports but I stop because of this problem, eczema is ruining my life. Also, Im working part time in an office, the air conditioning is very cold so its very hard to treat my current condition. But the job contract will end this December and so I intend to stay at home for the next 1 to 3 months to cure my eczema. :(
Answer: Read your whole question. It is INDEED LONG! :) I have eczema. I tried all the creams and stuff that is common to get from the doctor. My experience pretty much the same as yours. Funny thing is that when I told my doctor that I wasn't going to be using the creams and ointments any more, she agreed. It seems that her experience has been that patients want a quick fix vs. thinking long term. My doctor is from India and she thinks that Americans need to learn to deal with such problems and not make them such a major production in their life. But since she deals with Americans in her practice, she has to address it from their point of view. She and I now agree that we discuss all options of any and all treatments. I have settled on using only organic soaps that are totally natural. My choice has been "Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps". With the natural oils that are in it, helps to keep the itchy and dryness down. As for lotions to help with moisture, I use "Dr. Bronner's & Sundog's Magic" lotion or "Nature's Gate". Both are organic. For my lips, I use "Burt's Bees Lip Balm". I haven't had any serious outbreaks in several years. I have found that by keeping the chemicals out of the things that I use on my body, the problem seemed to have pretty much slowed down to almost stopped around the same time that I quit. Sounds STRANGE, but I also make sure to use a good washcloth. It removes the scales from the eczema. Don't SCRUB, but do wash. Pat dry areas where there are outbreaks. Your going to notice, or more than likely have, that the changing of the seasons will bring about outbreaks. For me, it isn't as much as an issue as it seems to be for you. But your younger , so don't waste your youth on worry over it. Since you have a minor case, it is something not difficult to live with and can be managed.

What are the cures for psoraisis..?

I have very bad psoriasis, really desperate to get it cure! Other then having treatment at National Skin Centre, i cant seems to find any other better ways. Due to my office duties @ work, i cant spare the time to go for treatment anymore and for 5 years my skin problem just cant get any better and it worsen from time to time.. Someone please advise on the cure.
Answer: Unfortunately there is NO psoriasis cure but there are psoriasis treatments. It is that simple. Anybody claiming to have a psoriasis cure is misleading you and most likely after your cash. Nothing you do causes psoriasis, it is also that simple. A psoriasis diet will not magically cure your psoriasis, neither will steroids or powerful vitamin derivative type drugs that alter your immune system. We have created this page explicitly to answer this single question as we receive many hundreds of emails each month asking us for a psoriasis cure. Don't believe a word of it! There is no cure for psoriasis. Unfortunately and despite the promises of many web sites there is no such thing as a true cure for psoriasis. The best that a suffer can realistically hope for is long term remission, where the symptoms seems to fade away. The disease does not have any medically recognised cure. This does not mean though that there Is no hope of a cure in the future. With the introduction of the new Biologic forms of treatment it is hoped that longer term viable relief can be given to sufferers everywhere. It is best to concentrate on the treatment and reduction of psoriasis, not look for a magic cure that does not exist (unfortunately.) Unfortunately there is NO psoriasis cure but there are psoriasis treatments. Anybody claiming to have a psoriasis cure is misleading you and most likely after your cash. No diet, no drug, no herb, no moisturiser will cure psoriasis, in fact, many alternative "cures" can inflame psoriasis.

Whats the best way to get rid of pimples and acne scars?

Because Ive them on both my face and body. I went for facial and the beautician said that I should stay away from alcohol, milk and caffiene and Ive to go for regular treatments every week to remove the zits on my face. Ive done microdermabrasion to even out the scars but it helps a bit. However, Ive also visited a dermatologist at the national skin centre and they told me that facial is useless. Its costly and I only get to enjoy the massage. They ask me to eat antibiotics (erytromycin) and gave me retin-a and panoxyl ( acne cream with benzoyl peroxide-5). So im confused on how to get rid of acne on both body and back the quickest and best way possible.
Answer: acne scars can only go away over time. unless willing to spend hundreds of dollars on laser surgery, nothing will get rid of those scars. some things will make them smoother and better, but never gone for good. creams like mederma and scar zone claim to help, but they just weren't made for scars from acne. and if you still have acne, i do not ever suggets useing a cream on your face. uummm... as for regular acne, you sound like you have sensetive skin. this calls for sensetive products!!! try: Target brand apricot scrub for blemishes and black heads. works wonders and feels like mud! Neutrogena products are well known and VERY gentle on the skin. they also make a chemical peel than reduces noticeability in acne scars tons. good luck and trust me we all suffer from acne and we'll all get through this alive! :-)

Skin problems?

as many have suggested, i have been to the dermatologist. however it was just a mere 5 min checkup and i was told that my condition is not severe. yet, my face has alot of scars or holes. so im not considering going back to national skin center. i have heard about new york skin solutions, is it good? if not, are they better ones?
Answer: The Proactive Solution works excellently. I have been using it now for over two years. I started breaking out because I sweat so much during Taebo and my face started to break out bad. It took only one week for my skin to clear up. It is less expensive than and works perfect.

what is the best product to use for acne prone skin?

1)Ettusais 2)Dermatologica 3)Clinic 4)Khiels 5)Dior Or is there any brand you can recommend that has highly rated comments by users with acne prone skin? Thanks! Ive been unsure as my acne has persists for 5 years already. I dont want my face to have any further scarring effect. Also ive been to skin doc at National Skin Center in Singapore but the medication they prescribed was too harsh on my skin resulting in skin discoloration. Ive also been to beauty centre that provides facial wash to assist in eliminating acne problems. But they have all been no results except for one which is New york skin solution. However, its too expensive for me to carry on. Within just one month, my acne came back again. Ive also tried many of the brands that are bing sell in Watsons and Guardian. Need something really effective and can be use for long term.
Answer: Hi, I am a DIY person :) so I am always looking for homemade stuff instead of buying. As a teenager I had acne. Like you never heard that :).I waited to grow past teen-age years to get rid of acne. I learned it was caused by hormonal imbalances natural at that age. I looked into the matter and I found out many natural home remedies for acne. Most of them will help your skin heal from the damage caused by your acne, but they won't cure the acne. But I didn't give up. One theory that made sense to me is that you need to treat the internal problem causing acne. That is - hormonal imbalances, toxines etc.. How can you do that? - Primarily you must help the liver, the pancreas and the kidney. I am currently using "Apple Cider Vinegar" which is a natural cure for acne. Apple Cider Vinegar is an effective natural agent that cures acne by killing the bacteria and balancing our skin's pH level (which is a measure of acidity). It also absorbs excessive oil from our skin, which is a leading cause of acne. In the spring I will take a Dandelion cure. Dandelion shuns wet places, it has two outstanding qualities: it is useful in disorders of the liver and of the gallbladder. Dandelion and Stinging Nettle have a blood purifying effect. They aide the functions of the liver and the pancreas, thus reducing the hormonal imbalances in the body. Infusion: 1 heaped tablespoon of roots is soaked in cold water overnight, brought to the boil and strained next day. This amount is apportionately sipped, half an hour before and half an hour after breakfast. I also recommend a Nettle cure as an acne remedy. - Wear gloves when handling fresh nettle plants. - Remove leaves from stems and discard stems. - Fill a teapot full of nettle leaves - Pour boiling water over the leaves. - Steep for 5 minutes. - Add honey and/or lemon if desired and drink. The tea will be somewhat bitter. However, it is quite nutritious an especially high in calcium. Other quick homemade acne treatments I found to keep your skin clean: 1. Garlic is an excellent treatment for acne, in case you did not know. Just rub with a garlic clove cut in two over the acne, or cut into slivers a garlic clove and apply over acne with a plaster, leaving overnight to act; 2. Onion is a good apprentice in the fight against acne and its traces when it disappears. Make a puree with the blender and apply it as a facial mask once a week; 3. Lemon juice applied to skin helps to close pores, and to increase the brightness of skin; 4. Baking soda mixed with vegetal soap (preferably soap made only from olive oil or vegetable oil) is the best antibacterial scrub the skin; 5. Mixture of fine sea salt to whites of an egg is very good for sensitive skin attacked by acne. Apply as a mask and remove easily with circular movements; 6. Honey can be applied as a mask for acne skin; 7. Vinegar is a good tonic antiseptic for acne, acting very gentle if you mix in equal proportion with water or green tea; 8. Yogurt is very effective and safe for skin prone to acne. Apply directly from the jar, let it react 5-10 minutes, then rinse; 9. Cut a gauze circle about the size of the face, soak it in fresh made green tea (very hot but not boiling) and apply on face. Let dry and remove carefully; 10. Herbs such as echinacea, rosemary, dill and parsley are great for teas and infusions wich purify the skin.

Im living in singapore and i want to have it done at NSC, national skin centre. anybody had it done there before? How did you feel when having the injection? and how did you feel after the injection? im wanting to get the injection for my hands, my hand is sweaty always, it causes me alot of stress. and ive tried many different kinds of treatment before, but doesnt help . Does the injection helps you with your sweat on your hands? How much did you pay for it? Any body who had done it, can you share your experience with me?
Answer: Botox Curbs Excessive Sweating. Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating. (excessive axillary, palmar, plantar sweating) Doctors Use Botox to Treat Woman Whose Right Hand Often Dripped With Sweat By Miranda Hitti WebMD Health NewsReviewed by Louise Chang, MDApril 19, 2007 -- Botox may be most famous for taming wrinkles, but it can also stop excessive sweat, German doctors report. They used Botox shots to treat excessive sweat (hyperhidrosis) in a healthy 23-year-old woman. Ever since childhood, the woman had experienced bouts of excessive sweat in her right forearm and the back of her right hand. The sweating episodes had become more frequent and troublesome over the years, embarrassing the woman, note doctors including Monika Sonntag, MD, of University Hospital in Dusseldorf, Germany. Before Botox treatment, the woman experienced five daily bouts of excessive sweating, on average. "Her hand literally dripped with sweat, affecting her work," Sonntag's team writes in The Lancet. The woman had unsuccessfully tried other treatments for the previous two years. After that, Sonntag and colleagues gave her Botox injections in the affected area for six months. The Botox shots stopped the woman's excessive sweating. "The treatment was well tolerated and the patient's quality of life appreciably improved," write the doctors. Botox is approved by the FDA to treat severe underarm sweating that cannot be managed by topical agents such as prescription antiperspirants. Botox contains a tiny amount of the botulinum toxin. When used to treat severe underarm sweating, it stops the release of a chemical messenger called acetylcholine, temporarily blocking the nerves in the underarm that stimulate sweating. Unlike surgery, however, Botox is a temporary treatment. Botox shots generally stop the sweating for only about seven months, said Davis. And some patients who received shots in the hand have reported temporary muscle weakness As a treatment for heavy sweating, however, Botox may not be for the thin-skinned. A typical treatment for either sweaty palms or armpits requires 17 to 20 injections, in one sitting, directly into the problem area. "I'm not going to say that the shots in the palm aren't painful," said New York dermatologist Joyce Davis, a spokeswoman for the American Academy of Dermatology who has been using Botox for about a year to treat people with excessive sweating of the palms Botox is a prescription drug and must be used carefully under medical supervision. I recommend you try other things first... Hyperhidrosis is a fairly common disorder shared by millions across the world. By definition, Hyperhidrosis is the excessive sweating of the head, face, hands, feet and armpits no matter the temperature or conditions. The sweating is erratic, unpredictable and uncontrollable. You do have some options. To stop the excessive sweating try: 1). Drysol Drysol is a prescription deodorant that works wonders for underarm, hand and foot sweating. Apply it to your hands, feet, armpits or anywhere else you sweat at night before bed. You only need to apply it once a day - it's not like regular deodorant. This stuff is Clinical Beware of irritation with Drysol. You may have to take a day or two off from this treatment if your skin gets too dry, sensitive or red with a rash. 2). Drink more water to lower your body temperature. A lot of people are confused by this solution. They think if they drink more water, it will give them that much more fluid to sweat out. This is totally incorrect. Drinking more water cools your core temperature and will alleviate some of the excessive sweating. 3. Drink Green Tea or Sage Tea at night Tea contains an astringent property which will dry out oils and prevent excess moister from escaping the skin. It essentially drys you from the inside out. In addition to helping your complexion, green tea will neutralize many of the toxins that create the pungent odor in sweat. By the way, that odor is caused by bacteria that treats your sweat as a breeding ground. Gross! 4. Try Certain Dri (non-prescription deodorant) You can buy this one at most pharmacies. Certain dry is a little less abrasive than Drysol so you won't need to worry as much about irritation. It is however a little less strong. You'll want to gauge your level of Hyperhidrosis by first trying Certain Dri. If your sweating continues, upgrade to Drysol and that should do the trick. 5) Cut out some of these culprits: e.g; Onion, garlic and curry and spicy foods and see gradual but noticeable results. Add leafy greens and tea into your diet for a positive effect on sweating. Changing your diet will really cut out the spontaneous sweating from your daily lunch breaks. 6). Try Iontophoresis treatments. This is more of a phase 3 solution. Try the clinical deodorants and diet fixes first. However, there is a treatment called Iontophoresis where you place your hands and feet into bowls or plates. The plates are filled with mineral water. Connected to the plates is an Iontophoresis electromagnetic device. Gentle electic pulses are distributed through mineral water. The minerals bond and temporarily change the nature of your sweat pores to block the sweat. This treatment works well. You can learn about it through the Source link I've provided below. 7). Try a Sage Tea Soak There's something called a Sage Tea solution what you do is... a. Buy Sage Tea from your supermarket b. Fill a large bowl with room temperature water c. Put the sage tea bags in the bowl d. Let the tea dissolve a bit. e. soak your hands or feet for 15 minutes. Sage Tea will act as an astringent to dry the skin and prevent excessive sweating for many days to follow. Don't just do this soak one day. Do it everyday for 5 days straight (15 minutes at a time) and you'll see great results. If your hands tan from the tea, just wash them in the sink with antibacterial soap. The residue will come off easily. 8) ETS (Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy) If the sweating is bad enough, some people will opt towards ETS. This is, however, a LAST resort. I recommend you try everything else possible before opting towards surgery. You can speak with your Dermatologist to find out more. CHECK OUT THE SOURCE LINK I'VE PROVIDED BELOW FOR MORE TIPS ON TREATING HYPERHIDROSIS... http://www.Prevent-Sweating.com http://www.answers.com/topic/hyperhidrosis Prevention Hyperhidrosis treatments help to prevent excessive sweating but may not entirely eliminate the condition. Hyperhidrosis can be managed by using simple daily personal hygiene methods, such as the following: •bathing daily to reduce bacteria •washing and changing clothes frequently •changing socks or pantyhose at least twice daily •airing out shoes and rotating shoes worn each day •wearing absorbent socks, clothing shields, and natural fabrics •using antiperspirants in the evening and gently massaging them into the skin •using foot powders and going barefoot frequently to air out feet. Each Botox treatment can cost from $500.00 to $1,000.

Answer: I've just gotten back to the States from a visit to the NSC, and was impressed at their up to date facility. I"m sure you'll have a successful treatment there, and the Botox injection will work well. It needs to be reinjected every six months or so. It will be done under a local anesthetic, so you won't feel the injections. Good luck.

shiny scalp = no more new hair?

I have read on a forum that if your hair drops till a stage until your scalp is shining, the chance of making hair grow is almost zero. Im very worried because, I am dropping hair at my parting area (crown). Currently, undergoing medication through the National Skin Centre and applying minoxidil. But I realised my scalp is already shiny and the patch seems to grow even wider. Is there no hope for my hair? And, has anyone used Minoxidil? Is it effective? I am a girl. Hope to have my hair back. Except low iron, theres basically nothing else wrong with me.
Answer: I don't think so. There's a time where your hair just stops growing because your hair has a certain life span. I'm really sorry about that. That just sucks.
