I didnt go to a nursery before I went to school but most of the other kids did . I always was quite shy and found it difficult to make friends in school. Do you think there is a link between child development and going to nursery pre school ? Does it give you an important head start ?
Answer: I think it depends on the particular individual.
A child who does not go to preschool gets to bond more with family and parents.
The family is the primary socializing agent. The child learns the vital morals and values, the more time the child spends with family the more grounding they receive.
A child who goes to nursery is will learn what they are taught and not necessarily their families' values and morals. Their peers and the outside world becomes the primary socializing agent.
They may also not have the advantage of proper bonding with their family and parents.
Yet different children rreact differently and are affected differently by various situations and circumstance.
Your temperament and personality also has a lot to do with the way inwhich you form relationships and make and build friendships.

3. It was difficult at first juggling 2 kids but you get used to it.
Just always include your first child in the care of your second child like getting diapers, lotion, powder etc and they will feel like they're helping you.

She is 20 months old and is still sleeping in her cot BUT lately she has been waking up in the middle of the night screaming and refuses to go back downin her cot. We then move her to our bed where she falls asleep immediately.

Of course she is going to fall fast asleep in your bed....she's right where she wants to be. Be strong willed about it and take her back to HER bed when she wakes up.

Answer: Figuring that you're both really tired from a long days work...once he's fed...he's ready to relax until bed time. But we mother's don't have that luxury, right?

'Hon, will you wash up the dishes while I put the baby to bed?'...then we can watch a program together.

'Jack, will you take the trash to the curb while I do the dishes?'
My husband is blind to the household things that have to be done. As long as I didn't get between him and the TV...he could easily relax...while I worked 'til midnight.
But, if I asked him nicely just to do one thing...he'd chip in and help me out...without any problem.
It worked a lot better for me than getting more and more angry while he relaxed and I still had a zillion things to do.
I know it sounds too simple..but it worked for us <:O)

My child has gotten into big trouble and now has to attend an Alternative Learning Academy (ALA). Can I withdraw him from public school and start homeschooling so he does not have to take part in this punishment?

Answer: HHmmm !!! This kind of depends how BIG the "big trouble" actually is. If he is only in school / education department type trouble then I can see no reason why you can't just remove him from school, decide what he wants to study and begin homeschooling. BUT if its legal and criminal type trouble and the court system is involved you may have to take it up with the powers that be.... youth justice department or whatever your little darling is involved with. Either way be honest, above board and voice your reasons for wanting to homeschool. No children ever got better behaved from mixing with naughtier kids than themselves, and thats exactly what these alternative education places are. Places where good kids [derailed slightly] mix with naughty kids and pick up even better ideas for being HEAPS naughtier next time.
Even the real naughty little rascals find kids even naughtier than they are. Its crazy and spirals outa control every time.. Good luck I wish you all the best with your little darling.

How to get a child to use big cup and not a bottle?
There is a child in my home day care. He is 2 and 1/2 years old. He does not use utensils (or even know how). He only uses a bottle. We are really working on him learning to use utensils and a big kid cup. He does not like the sippy cup either. I do not know the best way to do this.. eliminate the bottle completely? We will encourage him at every mean to use the spoon and fork and help him.

Answer: Find a drink that he really likes and only give it in a cup. Gradually start including more drinks in that rule until you get to water and milk. I wouldnt take too much time though. He CAN do it, he just hasnt yet. BTW- have his parents asked you to do this? You may want to make sure first because if they are not following through at home its not going to work.
Spoons and forks are still kinda hard for kids this age so just make sure they are provided, but again, sounds like he is probably not practicing at home.

Can someone help me explain the Big Bang theory to a child only in 3rd grade? I, myself do not know too much about it, but he is curious. I tried looking it up on wikipedia but it was all too scientifical for me to comprehend.
Answer: To explain it to your child you must understand it yourself.
The big bang is complicated. First of all you have to understand that no matter where you are in the universe you are always in the middle of it. Look at the tip of your finger, that is where the big bang started as is any other point. This might sound crazy but it's true. When the universe started to expand from an infinitely small point so did space and time as we know it. So we cannot leave this universe and if we tried we would end up back to where we started. We have no idea what caused the big bang or why it continues to expand. We just have a lot of evidence that it's true.
A way to look at it is if you had a spherical sponge and squished it into a small ball and then let it expand, only there is no edge to the universe.

Answer: you should give her something that you worked hard on. It doesn't have to be expensive but it has to be something that comes from your heart. Many times i had colored things and did arts and crafts for my mom and she liked it. If you are really and old person (adult) you might want to consider giving her flowers and with the earrings you can probably clean the whole house when she leaves, do all the dishes, vacuum the carpets and everything because you have to think like a mother. If you came home to a clean house after a really hard day, and saw a nice clean home, I think it would have made your day. :)

Honestly, I dont know how you amazing women who have had babies did it. What was it like? How much worse are child birth contractions from when you have your period and your having contractions? Answer: My sister is 5'3, 115 lbs and when she gave birth to all three of my nieces and nephews she did just fine. It is def. the workings of your inner body and not outer. She doesn't appear wide, however I think doing certain exercises will help if you prefer to have an easy vaginal birth. I do yoga and there are hip openers that widen your pelvic muscles just for this.
