Any advise on 2 night safari trips in kenya?
we are off to Kenya, Kikambala beach, in september, 2 weeks in a hotel but we would love to do safari maybe 2 nights? any advise on how much and best way to book ect, the ones we have found so far include flights ect which we dont need!
Answer: A lot depends where your safari is. If you book locally for a safari when your out in Kenya this could cost less than pre booking before you go. If you make a booking out there make sure that they are recommended and have the insurances etc. If you are going to the Tsavo East or West game reserves from Kikambala these are within fairly easy reach by road, but be warned the roads are very rough and the standard of driving is generally poor. Due to this fact, is why if going to the more northern parks or to the Masai Mara people prefer to fly for the safety and for the less travelling time involved. Travelling by vehicle in the northern parts of Kenya can also be a bit dodgy due to the car jackings and robberies along the highway. I would only stay one night at Tsavo East park as anything over that is a waste of money, or split two nights between East and West parks. If going to the Mara I would definitely recommend staying two nights as there is a lot to take in. Take plenty of film or large capacity digital camera card with you, as you will take more shots of everything than you do normally on holiday and these will be expensive to buy locally if you can get them, also don't forget binoculars as in some parks they are not allowed to drive off the road to view animals. You will enjoy the experience of a safari and it is really the highlight of any Kenya visit. I will also be back there in September.

How to get around Singapore to view the Jurong Bird Park and Night Safari etc?
Travelling to Singapore late Jan- Im only there for 2-3 days. I want to view the Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, Little India and if possible Sentosa Island.
My question is, Im staying in Singapore right in the city- how would I travel to the Bird Park and Night Safari (I want to do them in one day- so from Singapore- Bird Park-Night Safari and then back to the hotel)
can this be done (really cheap?) tour would be fine (again- cheap!)
Also, while Im asking- recommend anything else to do/see/eat/or where to stay?
Answer: Oh, looks like its so pack for your trip. For your trip I think Sentosa Island should be done a day trip and not as a half day trip. If u have 3 full days, then I suggest u to tour around Little India, Kg Glam area and Chinatown, as they are all nearby. But its your choice anyway.
As for your question, you can take the bus 194 from Jurong Bird Park to its Interchange. Then transfer the train to Jurong East Interchange. Transfer again to another line and alight at Choa Chu Kang Stn. After exiting the station, transfer to 927 that takes u directly to the Night Safari. For back to hotel, is your hotel located at Little India? You can take the taxi available at the Night Safari, as its pretty late when your exit the Night Safari. For Cheap wise, yes for the day part, no for the night part as everything in Singapore is expensive at night. Nothing in cheap in the night as they are paid more so more expensive.
For eat lots of food u can try. Local food at the food court and food centres are cheap, and also coffee shops. What to eat its definetely up to u but the Roti Prata and the Nasi Lemak are the cheapest on the kind. Chinese, Malay and Indian are cheap for a meal dish, like Chicken Rice for S$2.50 or 3. Nasi Lemak is like S$2 for many places. For where to stay, staying in Little India area is cheap, Bugis area is also cheap too. Cape Inn at Tiong Bahru Area and Summer Tavern in Clarke Quay are also cheap.

Answer: No they are not next to each other. Night Safari is next to the Singapore Zoo. It will take 30 minutes at least to go from Jurong Bird Park to Night Safari if not longer depending on the traffic at the time and how you are getting there.
Jurong Birk Park you could do in a few hours, 3 is possible or you should stay longer if you do have the chance. Better off going in the morning and then leaving in the afternoon. Night Safari has more things in a shorter amount of time. There is the train/trolley around it or you can walk. There is also several shows to see figure around 3 hours in the least. You would be better off doing the Singapore Zoo then doing the Night Safari leaving Jurong Bird Park to another day.
The Stamford is a good hotel and right in the middle of town so easy access to everything. It is right next to a mall as well so that helps.
Use the Bus/MRT if you can it is a good system to use. Taxis can be expensive in the end with all the costs.
Universal is newly opened and the kids are out of school so it can be busy, expect at least all day there. It is catered more to teenagers/adults in many areas. Maybe one day for doing the rides and the second day for other things like photos, buying souvenirs.

I did the night safari in Chiang Mai earlier this month. I would definitely say it's fun. (Well as fun as a daytime safari).
We did get to see all the animals, they shined lights on them. But we weren't allowed to use flash on our cameras so my photos were almost completely black. And secondly, it was freeeeeezing. Chiang Mai at this time of year is cold, not just for Thai, but for Westerners as well.
Oh, second advice. Go with your Thai friends so they can get you the Thai price. It's half the listed Westerner price. (It's written in Thai numerals so you wouldn't know if you don't read Thai.)

Answer: Well my dear... All these 3 places are definitely worth going :)
However you may wish to start with the Singapore Zoo. It would definitely be both an educational and enjoyable trip for your kids especially.
They will definitely appreciate the huge conservation efforts by the zoo in protecting and preserving the wildlife and the endangered species, eg, the polar bears, orang utan....
Try and go to the zoo in the morning (say about 9 am) where the animals are at their most active. Most of them would be asleep in the afternoon and sometimes it would be difficult to see them if they are sleeping in a hidden corner of their enclosure.
If you are taking public transportation, take the mrt to Ang Mo Kio station. Then take bus 135 from AMK hub. The bus will bring you directly to the zoo's entrance.

Nestled in 40 hectares of lush secondary forest, the Night Safari offers guests the unique experience of exploring wildlife in a tropical jungle at night. Through the use of subtle lighting technique, guests are able to view over 1,000 nocturnal animals of 100 species in vast naturalistic habitats.
The birth of the Night Safari is a result of a combination of factors. The overwhelming response to night tours conducted at the Zoo in the late 1980s indicated a demand for wholesome night entertainment. Displaying tropical animals at night seemed ideal since 90% of them are nocturnal and, therefore, most active after dusk. Moreover, Singapore is blessed with sunset taking place punctually at 7.30pm, dependably cool nights and little rainfall. These operational advantages make outdoor night attraction perfect.
The Night Safari took four years to plan and three years to construct. It was officially opened on May 26, 1994.
