Can someone help to correct my grammatical errors in this essay?
I just finished typing out this essay. My English is not perfect, so I need someone to help me by correcting whatever grammatical errors on in, thank you!
I am Samantha Lee, graduated with a GPA of 3.847 from Digital Media Design at Ang Mo Kio ITE College West, and was offered to take up New Media at Republic Polytechnic in April 2007. But I realised Republic Poly definitely do not offer what I want, so I enrolled to LASALLE-College of the Arts in August 2007, because I believe the college would help to further expand my creativity, imagination, aesthetic awareness, and my passion for arts.
Ive completed the foundation year in 2008 with an average score of 73, a grade A, and was posted to major Animation Art at Level 1. But after weeks of studies in Animation Art, I realised that animation would not be my lifelong pursue, and Communication design is far more suited for my needs and future. I was told by the head of Comm D that it was too late to join her faculty due to the capacity of space, and was advised to join the next batch in August 2009. Also at the same time, my mothers CPF education account for me has been used up, so I had no choice but to defer my studies for a year.
My mom has been retrenched from her factory work since December 2008, and now only manages a part-time position at McDonalds with not much earning. I’ve promised her that I will help out to pay the bills, lighten her burdens, and be responsible for my own studies. But even after several months of working part time in Billabong, I am still up to my eyeballs in financial aid and very little money to work with. I believe your education grant would be a great avenue for me to continue studying while I can be rest assured that no one can stop me from living my dreams in the future, be it financially, or something else. It would be such a shame to let that opportunity be a waste if only for my family’s financial status.
Ive always been a very conscientious, ambitious, and driven student striving for the best grades in order to graduate at the top of my class. Ive worked to the best of my ability to achieve what I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember. I sincerely believe that someday my work would benefit me, and this grant would definitely be my reward for all my efforts. I can assure you that if I were to receive one of your education grants, I would put it to a very good use for the great benefit of many more than myself. I think that one can greatly improve their possibility of success is by accepting a successful mentor, and it feels to me that you could provide the mentorship that I would benefit from.
After graduation, Id like to use my skills and expertise in a team environment to use the full potential of my skills and also challenge myself to grow to a higher level of expertise. I know that Im a hard worker and I will apply whatever I learned. I know I have a future to live and I know that I am going to have a fun time doing it. Therefore I believe this education grant is reward not only for my past achievements, but also rooted in my potential for future achievements.
