Nice areas of Jersey City?
Hi, Im looking at apartments in JC and was wondering what were the safest places to live. I know downtown around Pavonia/Newport is relatively nice, but what about the area around Grove St by Van Vorst Park?
Answer: I know a couple of people who live in this area. I think it's OK. The Paulus Hook area is supposed to be nice too, but getting expensive. Someone told me that Jersey City Heights is a nice neighborhood, but I've never been there.

Thinking about moving to Vancouver Island (comox,courtenay,or campbellriver)...?
I am from Spruce Grove Alberta and sick of this place, I went to Van Island 2 times in my life and never wanted to come back here, but the chance to move there and buy a house might happen, is it worth it, what are some of the best things about moving there...how is the shopping??
the only thing stopping my husband is the economy of Edmonton, more money right...but VI has so much other stuff thats awesome, forest, OCEAN!!! mountains, i think the air smells nicer and i thought the people were friendlier, Iam a realtor so i could get a job there as I have noticed LOTS of new homes going up and the prices there for homes are way more affordable than here!

Look at the Job Bank for Campbell River, Comox Valley compared to Alberta. My s/o has to look out of town for work, it's that bad.
They are considering a job four hours away...That's not right.
The mill in town shutdown, and so have a few other places...
A lot of the younger generation are making do with crappy service jobs in town, or the ones that know a trade are lucky enough to have a higher paying job in town.
The rest, they go to Alberta looking for "gold". And many come back home to the island with it, but it's not enough.
This place is pretty to look at, but city council has their heads way up their bums.
They'd rather stay safe with tourism dollars which are only seasonal,
instead of looking into other industries and things which will make the
place a good place to live and visit, anytime.
A few of the reasons why Comox/Courtenay is doing better than Campbell River is that the military is based there, and there are other industries supporting the economy such as dairy/meat farming, and Mount Washington, the ski hill.
There is also the little town of Cumberland near it.
You could get a vacation rental and see first if you would like living here as opposed to just visiting.
Another thing is BC Ferries is the only "cheap" way off the island, and even then, it's not going to be for long. If you're driving here, it's your only option.
You can fly. Comox Airport is your best bet.

I need advise on laws/rules on parking infront of dropped kerb/drive?
I live in a cul-de-sac were parking is a MASSIVE issue. There are 12houses within the grove and 4of them have dropped kerbs and there is one painted disabled bay. There is no-one who is classed as disabled within the grove - so the spot is not allocated to one person (the tenant whos bay it was has passed away). Either side of my house I have a drive, which means parking can be a massive issue, but if I park my car, just over the lamp post both neighbours can get on and off there drives and i am not causing any obstruction.
We have on numerous occasions had verbal arguements with one neighbour in regards to parking as there landlord sells vehicals and was using there drive to do so, meaning they were without a space or parking awkward and taking up two spaces. This has since been prevented and we agreed not to block there drive - but one month ago, i got back from christmas shopping (28wks pregnant) and blocked there drive, so i could take my shopping out the car and had a van parked were my car would normally be parked. As I was unloading the car - the neighbour RUDLY asked me to MOVE and stop blocking his drive - this was the first time this had happened in nearly 6months - so really annoyed me, but i moved the car and struggled to get my shopping out.
Then saturday night, a neighbour had a party and there visitors used a majority of the spaces the tenants us - leaving only the spot infront of his drive free. I parked my car there - blocking the drive (they hadnt been there for two nights so i assumed they were way - my mistake) they then knocked on my house at 12.06 in the night and asked me to move, i did so as i was in the wrong only for the the man and his wife to start on me and accusing me of constantly blocking there drive and inconvienecing them - this isnt the case as i pointed out, which i also pointed out that the week before when another neighbours friend blocked there drive, they actually blocked someone elses as they had no where to park (which was ok for them as theres was blocked!!)
We have had the police out in regards to parking on numerous occasions and have been told that by law if we are willing to move - we can park there, but most be available to move when requested.
Does anyone know if by law - i would be breaking it if i was to block there drive? Also were i can find out information in regards to this - as once i have it in writing i know where i stand!!

I cant have a drive as I have a lamp post directly outside my house - which means they would want £1800 to move the lamp post, then £2000 to drop the kerb, but i need permission to have the lamp post moved, which was refused previously as there was no-where else to put it within the grove.x
Answer: There are no specific offences of parking across a driveway although obstruction laws may be enforced if a vehicle is prevented from LEAVING a driveway.
The Highway codes states either DO NOT or SHOULD NOT regarding this matter, not MUST NOT. There is a difference.

I am considering relocating to downtown Jersey City close to the Grove Street PATH train station. Which areas around there are safe and fine to walk around alone at night? Also, how is it near Van Vorst Park? What about finding street parking? Thanks in advance for any info!

Sexy, Classy, Edgy, Cool, Noble, Catchy Name for a Leading Johnny Depp Character...I need your help Guys! :D?
Im writing a Character (or have written) for Johnny Depp in a Screenplay Im writing. Its a 3 hour Hollywood Christmas Murder Mystery Blockbuster set in a Fictional Connecticut Neighbourhood. The Character is a very Dorian Grey-esque, classy, British Male. He dresses very 19th Century, has a cane, black and purple velvet coat, trousers and has dark brown wavy hair.
If anyone has seen Johnny Depp in Tim Burtons "Sleepy Hollow" (2000), this is basically his Character although much more sexy and fancy.
He is snarky, sarcastic and extremely sexy, classy, elegant, pristine, immaculate, smooth, swaggering and commands whatever room he enters. Hes also a Ghost! His role in my Film is to return to his former Neighbourhood ("Sycamore Grove") to warn the Films Lead Female Character, Yvonne (Kristin Scott Thomas), about the dangers the Groves Residents are in from the wrath of a vengeful, raging Serial Killer and to ask her to pass on a message to his former Lover, Kirsty (played by Juliette Lewis…how ironic) that he only ever loved her. Towards the end of the Film, he sacrifices his spirit to fight off the evil Character who is trying to kill the Groves Residents and his spirit is extinguished forever.
I need a name people. First and Last. It has to be strong, catchy, edgy, ULTRA ultra cool, unique, classy, noble and most of all: memorable and SEXY! Sexy sexy sexy!!
This name has to be the ULTIMATE Character name EVER created and I need your help! I have some suggestions for first and last names below, but I need more. I want the name to be super catchy, as in possibly a surname which is a thing, like an element or a plant/flower/animal (maybe Jaguar). The Name cant be traditional, as in Jacob Richardson. Nothing with "son" at the end and also, triple syllable surnames are ok but they must be sexy, cool ones like "Devereaux" not "Richardson" if this makes ANY sense! Lol. Preferably, and this is important:
First name 2 Syllables, Surname 2 eg: Silas Willow
First Name 2, Surname 1 eg: Silas Snow
First Name 2, Surname 3 eg: Silas Silvershaw
Surnames with 3 Syllables could prefereably have the same First Letter of the Christian Name to make it super Catchy. This could even be for the other Syllable examples as well.
Also keen for Triple Barrel Names which sound Dutch: Silas Van Shadow, Dorian Van Cartier, etc.
