How did Harry see himself casting a patronus across the lake in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban?

I’m a little confused about what happens here. How did Harry be in two places at once before he used the time-turner ? Was is something metaphorical ?
Answer: When Harry, trying to rescue Sirius attempts to ward off the dementors with a patronus, he well... fails quite miserably. As he is loosing consciousness he sees, across the lake a blinding white light and someone, whom he thinks is his father. Now, when they all awake in the hospital wing, Dumbledore (after having told everyone to give them a moments privacy) urges Hermione to use her time turner and go with Harry back in time to save both sirius and buckbeak. Here's the clue you missed... when Harry and Hermione are sitting waiting for rescue Buckbeak, he suggests they run into Hagrid's cottage and capture peter pettigrew. Hermione quickly tells him that there is a reason wizards aren't allowed to meddle with time. loads of them have killed their future or past selves once they see each other. So yes, when time traveling you can really be in two places at once. The reason harry, obviously, didn't;t kill himself or think dark magic was going on was b/c he thought it was his dad. He also conjured the patronus b/c he already knew he could do it. Oh and .. harry didn't think it was his dad b/c his patronus was a stag. It only dawned on harry that James' animagi was a stag after Lupin told him and then he realized why his patronus is a stag. I don't think we know what James' patronous was. Not yet anyways.. He thought it was his father b/c harry and his dad look sooo much alike.

Why does Megan ODoherty refuse to admit that owls are stupid and not worthy of being a patronus?

They are so stupid! She says that her patronus would be an owl, but I think thats a stupid decision. Owls are not smart. And they already have a place in the Wizarding World. Her patronus owl would get mixed up with all the real mail-carrying owls. She has clearly not thought out her decision. What would you suggest her patronus be?
Answer: ... an owl. I mean, Snape's patronus is Bambi's mom, and Cho's is (if memory seves me correctly) a swan so it's not like they have to be particularily threatening or anything... there's a phoenix patronus, and a werewolf one, so why would owls alrready having a place in teh wizarding world make a difference?

In Harry Potter and the POA how could Harry cast a patronus if he was nearly unconcious on the floor?

Also, I know people say he and hermione went back in time, but at that moment no-one used the time turner, so how could there be another Harry over the other side of the lake?
Answer: Hermione having the Time Turner in the first place effected the future events. Like how she wasn't in the class rooms but then suddenly was and no one saw her come in because she came in with everyone else just at different time. With Harry he was supposed to go back in time and was in a way 'fated' to, if you will. He had a choice but it had already happened, like he says in the movie. Basically it's just magic and you have to believe in it.

I was watching the 3rd movie and it doesnt really tell what the memory is. I know it has to do with his mother, but what specifically. Is it when he saw her in the mirror or is it a dream that he had that isnt even true? And I dont have the book with me to look it up.

What if Harry Potter did not cast the Patronus charm and let the dementor take dudleys soul?

How would the Dursleys react? How would the ministry of magic react? Would Harry feel guilty or would he be happy he finally got rid of his obnoxious cousin?
Answer: The Dursley's would have thrown Harry out on the streets, after attempting to murder him, because they would want to distance themselves entirely from the wizardry world. The Ministry would have covered it all up, because they wouldn't have wanted to admit that they had no control over the Dementors. Poor Dudley wouldn't have even been mentioned in the Daily Prophet. Harry would have felt guilty. Although he and his cousin didn't get along, Harry would never have been happy that Dudley got the Dementor's kiss. I don't even think Harry would be happy if Draco were the one getting kissed by the Dementors.

Answer: Harry Potter's Patronus took the shape of a Stag, because that was his father's Animagus form and his father's corporeal Patronus. Harry first produced a Patronus when he was practicing against a Boggart with Professer Lupin, although that wasn't a corporeal Patronus (a Patronus with a shape). It was more like wisps of silvery smoke or fog, really. Harry's first corporeal Patronus was produced when he and Hermione went back in time to save Sirius and Buckbeak; the past Harry and Sirius were being confronted by a hoard of Dementors who were preparing to take their souls, and so future Harry sent a Patronus at them. Harry believed that it was his father who had cast the Patronus, but later learned that it was actually himself who cast the charm.

Answer: No. A Patronus requires happy memories, and Voldemort does not have any memory that is truly happy. Rowling has stated that Severus is the only Death Eater to ever conjure a Patronus.

When Harry and Hermione are going from forest to forest, Harry sees a silver doe patronus and follows it to the frozen lake where the Sword of Gryffindor lies. Answer: Yeah in the book it's because Hermione has the portrait of Phineas Nigellus in her bag, and when they Apparate to the Forest of Dean she says that aloud, Phineas hears, and tells Snape! But since Phineas wasn't in the movie, I'm not sure how they'll explain that for the movie.

Answer: It means that Snape still loved Harry's mom, Lily. Lily's patronus was a doe, and so Snape's changed after he fell in love with her. It is kind of like when Tonk's patronus changed into a werewolf when she fell in love with Lupin. Snape started to care for Harry because he loved his mom.
