my photoelectric sensor on my outside lights keep making them go off and on every 30 seconds or so.....?

did it get installed wrong or something?? has anyone ever heard or seen a defective one do this before? how do I fix it or should I just get a new one? thanks
Answer: This frequently happens. The sensor notices "it's dark" and turns on the light. Now the sensor says "oh, it's light!" and turns off the light. Repeat... Even street lights do this sometimes, if there's a window or something that reflects its light back up to the sensor. You need to aim the sensor at the sky, or some other direction that the lights do not illuminate. And/or, turn down the sensitivity.

Answer: hey.. this is a very critical condition that u have mentioned. u have several options like 1. U can use the vision sensor.. but those are very costly 2. U can use a distance sensor with having mm range. when the wrinkle is there.. the distance will b different.. and for that u can use the banner sensor.. s18.. s 30 etc and if the distance measured suggest u tht its not accurate.. i mean no wrinkle.. use the photo sensor.. if it reads different distance.. then pass the fault signal

how can I power a relay using two photoelectric switch sensors?

I have a relay that I want to be able to energize by one photoelectric switch sensor when this one detects a target and the other sensor would be able to DE-energize the relay when it detects the second target I tried but so far my head s going crazy .. Answer: You could use a simple RS flip-flop. Connect the first sensor to the S input and the second to the R input. Connect the relay's coil to the output of the flip-flop (with buffering).

Need Help to Choose a Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Detector?

Hey everyone Im moving to a new apartment in Montgomery County (Maryland) and I want to get a new smoke/carbon monoxide detector. I never bought one before and I have no idea which brand is good or anything... My new house already has a wired smoke detector and I kind of want to upgrade it. Its a one story three-bedroom condo (1000 square feet) and it uses electricity except for the water heater which uses natural gas. I read a lot of reviews and I know I want to have both smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. I also want to use hard wire devices with backup battery. I want a smoke detector with dual sensor (Ionization + Photoelectric). I looked at amazon.com and I found out that all the combo devices (smoke/carbon) only uses Ionization sensors and there isnt any combo device that uses dual sensors for the smoke. So, in your experience, should I buy two separate detectors (1 dual-sensor smoke + 1 carbon monoxide) or should I only buy a combo detector (smoke/carbon) with a regular Ionization sensor and just forget the Photoelectric sensor? Also, can you suggest a brand that you know is good? I dont really care about the price and my main concern is safety. I really appreciate your helps and suggestions
Answer: "kidde" brand is good..they make a combo smoke / c.o. detecter that just runs on a battery so it can located anywhere,as opposed to having it at an outlet and occupy that outlet.[ that can be inconvenient ]....it has 2 seperate sounds for smoke and c.o. ...it also has a voice that tells you which one its sounding an alarm for.... available at home depot and similar stores........

Best smoke detector for my needs?

Ideally would like to find a smoke detector that has these capabilities: 120V w 9v backup - not just 9v Dual ionization and photoelectric sensors Ability to interconnect to other units NOT First Alert I dont see units like this at Lowes or Home Depot - online or in the store. To me it seems ideal, that in a basement I may want just one type, bedrooms and other areas, both types. Either why arent these produced, or where are some shopping links to them?

A photoelectric sensor wont work as the person is blocked from view of the sensor. Can i use ultrasonic or some other sensor to notice that someone has entered the room?
