I need a 1600 meter workout program for track. Does anybody have any ideas on what I should include?
I can finally run again after being out of running due to stress fractures. Indoor track starts on January 1, 2011. I need to figure out a workout plan that will get me back in track shape. I need ideas on what I should include in this program.

Trump Won’t Run By Jeff Harding, on May 16th, 2011 Donald Trump announced today that he will not run for president:
“I will not be running for president, as much as I’d like to,” he said.
In a statement, Trump said the decision “does not come easily or without a regret,” and said that he believes that had he run, he could have won.
“I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half-heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector,” he said in the statement.
In his statement, Trump also thanked those who expressed support for his efforts, and promised to “continue to voice my opinions loudly and help to shape our politicians’ thoughts.”
The Dump Trump campaign comes to an ignominious and thankful end. Maybe he can use his time to rescue his bad deals.

How hard is it to run for an hour straight?
I made a goal to run for an hour straight. I am 16, thin, smoker (attempting quitting), I am quite out of shape but my goal is for January 2011 so I have a decent amount of time to get fit. How many of you have ran an hour straight before? Is it hard? Suggestions to help me with this goal? I LOVE running but I am embarrassed to do it. But now my breasts are non existent from weight loss (lost 40+ lbs) so I think Ill be less embarrassed. The ice on the ground is melting so I am going to start running soon I just need some tips and to know if my goal is realistic. I have good running shoes. :P
Answer: Well, it's hard for the less experianced, and easy for the very experianced. You need to train to get better, and as you get better it (obviously) gets easier.
The longest I've ever ran w/o stopping is 1 hour and 52 mins.

I have enlisted in the army and i had a few questions (I ship august 8th 2011 and my MOS is 14tango patriot)?
I was just wondering how basic was going to be like and the pay just to get the feel of the military life...and if anyone had any idea what 14tango patriot people do also how to get in shape ive go time but i cant run w miles in 16 mins...Im 72.5 in height and weigh 214.
Answer: You will be operating/maintaining Patriot missiles and their launch pads. 72.5 in height and weigh 214? Dude, you need to go on a serious diet and start working out, boot camp will be tough with those body specs.

Is it possible for me to Run the 2011 Chicago Marathon with little prior experience?
I will be turning 21 in the spring and have always been athletic since ive played volleyball forever. I have recently started up running and two of my close friends just ran the Chicago marathon on sunday. I have always wanted to challenge myself to do one but I have no idea where to start. I am semi in shape but i know i am no where near where i sould be to be able to do one now. When I go out running my path is 4.5 miles and it takes me about 40 minutes give or take a few. I am pretty tired at the end but I can do it. I jsut dont know whree or how to start training and if its even possible for me to be ready a year from now!?
Answer: Use the internet and find yourself a good beginner marathon training program. Either a program at www.runnersworld.com, or a Hal Higdon program (just Google his name), will work. A year is much more than you need to train for a single marathon, and putting a huge goal that far in front of you is setting yourself up for failure. You need to look through some training programs and see what they consist of. Then set yourself up some smaller goals along the way.
Build yourself up throughout the next year by progressively training for smaller races - run a 5k, then 10k, then half marathon, then the full marathon. You're already in shape for a 5k (3.1 miles), you could do a bit more training and run one around New Years. Given your current shape, you'd need no more than another month or so to get in shape for a 10k, that puts you into February. The half marathon would require more time, from 10k shape maybe spend 3 more months preparing, you're at the beginning of May then. That would mean 4 months to go from half marathon shape to full marathon shape - many couch-to-marathon programs only last a total of 6 months, so you'd have plenty of time.
Jimmy, if running killed your knees it was likely from poor running form or shoes which weren't properly matched to your feet.

What configuration do I need to run maya and 3ds max?
I am facing problems in running maya, 3ds max and softimage(all 2011 version) in my computer...like wheen I smoothens the shape of anything, or when I create hairs and fars, my software often hangs abd i have to restart it....

How can I build myself up to run 3 miles in 25 minutes by April 01, 2011?
I am pretty out of shape as I havent been running in quite awhile. I am 29 years old and in good health. I ran .6 miles in 5 min 35 sec this morning, but it takes me about 32 minutes to run three miles. I would like to cut at least 7 minutes off of my run time before April 1st of this year, more if I can manage it. It sounds feasible to me, but does anyone have any ideas/tips to help get me get there ,or workout plans, or website links that build workout plans based on your fitness level? I have between 1 and 1.5 hours a day on the weekdays and unlimited time to dedicate on weekends. I know if you run too much thats bad, but this is just the time I am able to a lot to this. Thanks in advance for your help!
Answer: Runnersworld.com has a virtual coach program called SmartCoach where you put in what you want to run and how much time you have and it gives you a program. But most programs have you peaking for a race and I get the impression (it isn't really clear) that you want to do your 3 mile runs in 25 minutes, not run a race in 25 minutes.
To do that I would suggest increasing your endurance by running longer. Add 5 minutes a week to what you run weekly. When you get one run to 45 minutes start with another one. Once that is completed (6 weeks) on 2 other days you run do 3 seperate miles at the pace you did that.6 mile this morning, 9:20. Rest 2-3 minutes between each one. Every week knock 10 seconds off. The pace you are looking for in 8:40 to run a 25:00 3 mile.

Well Ive always had this goal to run a sub 5:00 mile.Im a freshman in high school These details might help you.
1. Im kinda lazy
2. its hard to motivate myself to run in the cold
3. In summer track 2010 I ran a 5:02 in the 1500 and an 11:28 in the 3000
4. in 8th grade I ran a 5:27
5. in 2010-2011 cross country season my PR was 18:24 consisted of no hills at all.
6. Personal runs usually consist of 5 miles.
I really want to better myself. BIG TIME. Theres this kid who I ran against in the 7th grade and i now met up with him and hes purely amazing. It makes me want to do everything I can to run a great mile time, while wanting to run every single day. It is really hard when people say " oh just run a mile as fast as you can every day." or " do 4x800s at a bla bla bla pace"
I just need a really great comment about how to get into shape so I can reach my goal.

Answer: Im also a freshman in high school and ran around a 5:25 mile last year. This year in the middle of the cross season we timed and i pred a 17:30 and a sub 5 minute mile. THE MAJOR thing to do is get a trainer/good coach. My coach in middle school left us distance runners to do our own workouts, so when i got into high school i was actually pushed to run, and he has us on workouts to peak at certain times. Thats my advice.

Wanting to run an ironman.?
So my mom is really big into triathlons, really my whole family is quite athletic, my brother is a national champion wrestler, my dad is running the boston marathon next year and my mom swims and runs and does triathlons. Im pretty out of shape. Ive had experience in all the disciplines. But not much. I want to train for the 2011 florida ironman, which is 2 years and like 2 months away. Is this possible? I dont want to win just to be able to cross the finish line with my mom.
Answer: an ironman triathlon is crazy. not sure why anybody would ever want to do that...
but if youre sure you want to, you need to get in several other triathlons done before you even consider it. nothing can prepare you for 10 hours of straight racing.

"If nominated I will run." Rand Paul: Would you support his presidential run? Why or why not?
Freshman Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said Friday that it was premature for him to consider running for president, but that he would would be willing to take on the task "if nominated."
"Come back and ask me in a few months," Paul said in a wide-ranging interview with ABC News, adding that he was "very much interested in trying to shape the debate" by advocating deep, across-the-board spending cuts.
During the sitdown with ABC, Paul also claimed that his "true believer" commitment to fiscal conservatism led him to identify himself as a deficit hawk first and a Republican second.
"There are always problems in our nations capital that are more important than party affiliation and I will always believe that," Paul said when asked which mantle meant more to him. "Its not necessarily Tea Party versus Republican Party, but I would say that if you ask me whats more important, tackling our nations deficit, our nations debt problems or being a Republican, I would say tackling the debt."

Answer: I think he would make a good candidate.
He felt that Medicare and the insurance industry needed to be fixed before a total govt take over on our health care.
He's concerned about jobs and unemployment.
He's concerned how our national debt is keeping our economy in the dumps in regards to jobs.
He wants term limits for ALL politicians so we won't have career politicians.
He doesn't feel the Democrats or Republicans have done a very good job with the economy or balancing the budget.
He's a physician, a businessman, so he understands where the average person stands.

Whats the best way to get back in running shape?
Im 30 years old. I would like to do the Broad Street Run (10 miles) in Philly May 1, 2011. I am currently out of shape and would have trouble running half a mile.
Answer: The good news is you have plenty of time to get back in shape and be ready by May 2011. I am not sure what your running background is and what your previous training was, but it should not take you long to get your fitness back.
I just returned back from running after a layoff, and I am getting back by using the run/walk method which I used when I was a beginner. You may try using a five minute warmup of walking, followed by seven to eight minutes of easy running and then two minute walk breaks in between. You would want to do these repeats for thirty minutes followed by a five minute cool down of walking. Eventually, you could increase your running time to 10 minutes followed by one minute walk break in between. Your goal would be to work up to running the entire 30 minutes.
Once you get your fitness back, then you could add longer runs to increase your endurance. Of course, eventually you want to work your long runs to where you can run probably at least 8 miles. All of this is going to require patience and smart training. And most of all, you want to make it enjoyable by taking it easy and making each workout fun.
I am sure you will do fine.

Do I have enough time to get in shape for Ranger training? ( RASP)?
So around this september/october, I plan on enlisting into the US Army with an 11x option 40 contract.
I will only ship to boot camp sometime after june of 2011, because thats when I graduate high school.
So I have just about a year to prepare, is that enough time to prepare myself physically for Ranger Assessment and Selection Program.
right now my pt scores are very very bad.
I can do 20 push ups
45 sit ups
10 pull ups
and run one mile in 9:10 sec.
I am 5 ft. 7inches , and weigh about 137-140lbs.
I know I am far from being in shape for the Rangers, but if I work my ass off from now till the day I ship ( which will be anytime after the first week of june 2011), will I be able to get into the right shape to have a chance physically at RASP?
I plan on doing weight training ( lifting weights, push ups, sit ups, pull ups, and leg workouts) monday, weds, and friday, and cardio ( running, jogging, hiking or sprinting) on tuesdays , thursdays and saturdays, and sunday is a rest day.
does that sound good?
Ill workout for about an hour + each day.
I know where I should be at before RASP : 80+ push ups , 80+ sit ups, 15-20 pull ups, and 11:30 2 mile, and 35 min 5 mile.
but can I get there in about a years time?
any tips?

Recently, the 4 week RIP program was disbanded, and it was replaced by the 8 week program RASP. Ranger Assessment and Selection Program.
So after airborne school, you go to RASP for 8 weeks, and if you graduate, you receive assignment to the 75th Ranger Regiment.
Answer: Given your pt scores, it doesn't seem realistic even given a year's time. Ranger Battallion is way over 100% strength right now and very few guys are getting through the 8 week program. You have really got to want it to stay in. But if you fail out you end up in an airborne unit anyways so why not give it a shot?

Im a 16 years old track and a cross-country runner who used to be one of the best runners on the team. i had to completely stop training for some personal reasons . i stopped in june of 2010 and here i am back trying to get back to my previous strong shape. i really need someones help that has the experience . i really want to know what kind of training or workouts or whatever i can do independently that will get me back in shape or even better before the 28th of march 2011 (my track season) i will do whatever it takes but please help me !!!

Can i join the military if Im fat?
I am a bit overweight with an BMI of 35. Ive been considering on joining the Army. I am pretty healthy, and i am pretty sure that i cant run the 2 miles under 16 minutes. I am planning on applying by the end of january 2011. I would really appreciate any answers. Thank you so much in advance :)

How can I train for a 5k run?

Getting in shape for the military?
Im interested in Joining the Army as a Linguistic. I know I am out of shape, and I really want to get into the proper body type for it.
Currently I am female, about 220lbs and 52. I used to be a lot more active 4 years ago until I went into college (Blah). Ive looked at the chart and it says I need to be 130 but can I get away with being a little more? How does it work? How much weight do I need to lose to be accepted? Do I need to just be able to pass the physical and AVSB (SP?) Can someone give me some pointers? What can I start off doing that will up my chances, and for 2011 do they count the mile run, push ups, and sit ups only? Thanks for letting me know.
Answer: The weight requirement isn't really necessary, but you do need to pass the body fat content. For females, they measure the neck, wrist, forearm, and hips. I was always getting taped and measures as a male and I somewhat became an expert in this department. Increase the size of your forearms and neck and try to decrease the size of your hips. You're allowed a maximum of 32% upon and lower the 32%, in order to stay in the Army. The weight is irrelevant, but the body fat is relevant. There are no waivers around the amount of bodyfat, unless you have a higher up that could be a friend. If you're well liked by your first sergeant, he/she may give you chances to be allowed to do additional PT in order to meet the standards, but that's once you're in a permanent duty station
It's only necessary to get a higher score of 31/32 in the ASVAB to be allowed to enter the service, the PT isn't, not just yet. The standardized PT test has always been the Push Ups, Sit Ups and, 2 mile run, even before I entered, and to the present, and I'm out already. You will be trained to succeed by the drill instructors to be the best. The PT is challenging, but not impossible. By the end of the 4th week, you'll get the hang of things and most everything will be automatic.
To help a bit. Various forms of push ups and weights (light ones) for the upper body. Eliptical and treadmill for the runs, and few forms of crunches (situps not recommended as their strain your neck area). Yahoo, and Youtube have various examples of every event, just modify them to your liking and what you can do. Recruiters will tell you that weights aren't anygood for losing weight and whatnot......that's the old school mentality, weight training may add weight, but good weight in a smaller space, meaning with muscle you will tone up, take up less space when sitting down, and boost up your metabolism. Here's a quick example, I was miserable in my last six months of the Army, I let myself go. I weighed 185 with 26.5% body fat, and was already in the fat boy program, basically I was let go. I returned home, and 6 months later I entered the reserves. The recruiter was kinda iffy with me, because I still looked, a bit big. After being accepted my measurements were 19in neck, 38 in waist, and 65.5 in height. The recruiter thought I was going to fail, but the First Sergeant was hopeful I would pass. I told him right off saying "Top, I'm good.....in fact, under the max allowable for my age"
Lo and behold, I was, by almost 2% under....... weighing 212 pounds. SO like I said, the weight is irrelevant.
