About 4 or five days ago I noticed a large red pimple on my right thigh that frlt hot to the touch and it has been growing since. Have a little fever that always starts late in the afternoon through midnight. 2 days ago I went to the hosp but they didnt think much of it and prescribed a wide-spectrum antibiotic and Ibuprofen. Today, early evening, I has REALLY grown, very hot to the touch, still feverish, headache, rash on both legs and area closest to the center dot of inflammation is starting to turn very dark red specially under the skin. So, is this how skin necrosis starts, from the inside out? Answer appreciated.
Answer: Necrosis is a depression rather than a bulge, it's an ulceration of underlying tissue, bites from a brown recluse are a common cause of necrosis. if it doesn't sink in and turn black i don't believe it can be called necrosis.Everthing else you mention is characteristic of a reluse bit except the pimple.

Could this be MRSA or a spider bite (picture included)?
My son had these bumps on his leg a few months ago.

They were hard to the touch, red all around them and eventually popped and had green puss ooze out of them. They dried up and eventually went away after about 2 weeks.
Two days ago I noticed that my son, after coming home from the babysitter, had a little bit of what I thought was diaper rash. I cleaned it and kept it dry, but within the next 24 hours it got much worse. One particular spot grew to the size of a quarter (was hard under the skin) and had a spot that looked like a bug bite but was green and larger than a normal bug bite. After giving him a bath it popped and had a large amount of green and black puss, followed by blood ooze out. It went down in size within a few hours and is starting to dry up.
Could this be MRSA? or a really bad spider bite? The Dr cant get me in until Monday afternoon.

Answer: This does not look like a spider bite, they rarely bite more than once.
there are to many skin conditions to properly visually identify
this.
as a guess, I would say it appears to be a common staph infection,
but whether it is MRSA wold require a doctors examination.
you might apply a topical antibiotic, and keep an eye on it.
this may heal up nicely on its own, but if it should worsen,
this should be examined by a doctor.

Two spider dreams...?
I think it is important that I am arachnephobic.. not crazy bad, but even the word "spider" gives me shudders:
Dream #1: I am with friends and family and my mom tells me I have to go into this room. the colors are dark, woodsy- like its a cabin. Over the door is a huge spider web with a spider about the size and thickness of a hockey puck. it didnt move and was not threatening, but I could not make myself go under it. Prominent characters in this dream were my mother and my husband.
Dream #2: I find small spider bites on my right arm. about 50 or more bites. but it seems as though the spider has also planted eggs in these bites so they become boils and keep growing and turning black. They are textured like little round black balls (eggs) are in it. My dad is helping me take them off but we have to wait until they are big enough... so I sit and wait for each to grow (really fast actually) and since I refuse to touch them my dad takes them off when they are "ripe" where the boils have been lifted off there is a hole in my skin and it looks like rice beneath rather than muscle.
Thats it... i should say too that i have read some dream dictionaries- my relationship with my mother is awesome, she never pressures me but offers advice only when I ask... then she is always supportive of my decisions. help?

Cyst/Boil/Pimple/Spider Bite?
about 3 weeks ago I had this small pimple type thing coming up on my lower back, just to the left of my spine, and right above my waste line., I figured it was just another pimple with no head, a few days go by and its still there so I decided the head was closer to the surface so I was going to try and pop it, well nothing came out it just hurt really bad. the next morning I was picking at it all day, finally I had my gf look at it and she said a solid black head was there, so I looked in the mirror and sure enough the pimple like thing had a solid black spot in the center, the next day it was even bigger black spot and was hard, so I decided to take my tweezers and try to pick it out, but it was HARD and wouldnt budge, so I put a bottle of peroxide on it and held it for about 20 mins, the black was no longer black it was white and not as hard, I was picking at it, and pulling out what seemed to be tiny clearish hairs, that almost seemed like they didnt want to come out, like a thousand of these I pulled out. Finally I think all is over and underneath all of that was another HARD surface of stuff, during this time I was feeling some pain that seemed to travel in a line from the sore around the left side of my waste and down to the upper right part of my groin area, and that part of my groin started to swell a tad and hurt. anyways I couldnt get anymore out of this sore cause it was so hard and almost anchored inside of my body, I became brave and decided to slice into it with a razor and finally I got almost all the junk out, (had to stop hurt so bad), my sister then gave me some sort of cream, I forgot what it was, I put the cream on and the next day it looked better and felt better, so I started to squeeze on it and the next 5 minutes of squeezing ALOT of puss was coming from this sore, it was about id say |---|
Answer: Most probably what you had was a "Pilonidal sinus" (Google it. You will get more information). You should have gone to a surgeon and got it removed under sterile conditions. But you made a mess of it and got infected. By your good luck it has healed now without any complications. But if it has not been completely removed it may recur again. If it does, go to a proper surgeon and get it removed. Don't do any more stupid adventures.

What does my dream mean?
I was walking through my apartment and there were spiders everywhere. As soon as i thought they were all dead I would run into another. The justification in my dream was that I was afraid they would hurt someone. The last part of the dream I put this tiny spider in a see through box. It grew to a huge size inside of the box. I kept feeling this strange sensation in my hand (under the skin). It wasnt pain, but more like something wriggling in my hand. Spider/bug bite on dog?
I have a 5 month old yorkie. I noticed a nickel size lump right below her shoulder area. It wasnt there yesterday, so I dont think its a tumor, theres no way I wouldnt have noticed it. She is eating, sleeping and acting normal. The lump itself seems to be under the skin and isnt scaby or anything like that, doesnt seem to hurt her. If it is just a bite, how long before it goes away? Or, how long should I give it before I start to panic and think its something else? Like I said, it wasnt there last night, so I really dont think its a tumor. (I dont think they grow instantly overnight) Any thoughts???
Should I take her to the vet tomorrow if its still there and the same size?
Answer: I would suggest taking her to the vet. What if it is something serious and you wait too long? There are many causes of lumps from spider and bug bites to tumors to an impacted sebacious gland - so it is better to have the vet look at it.

Can you help with my dream?
I had a dream last night that a tarantula bit me on the side of my foot and laid its eggs which rapidly grew into babies. This happened in a matter of hours and i had to watch the lumps grow under my skin. The closer they got to hatching the more scared i became. Eventually they emerged from my skin quite painlessly. I voluntarily let the spider bite me as i would benefit from protection from something.
I am terrified of spiders ordinarily but the dream was not terrifying.
If anyone can help with this i would really appreciate it as it is playing on my mind.
Answer: Wow man, thats deep. I would suggest to keep going as you go, because a bad dream is bound to happen once in a while. If the dream starts recurring then i would suggest trying to watch an informational video on spider so you know what spiders are actually about and maybe that might help. Dog with skin problem?
I went on vacation a few months ago, leaving my Yorkie mix with a relative. Soon after I brought her back home, I noticed that she had a patch of fur, about the size of a quarter, missing from her hind leg. In the three days before I was able to get her to the vet--long weekend--the patch grew half again as large.
The vet told me that it was probably a reaction to a spider bite. He said the fur may or may not grow back. He gave me some sort of allergy pill and a creme that looked a bit like thick, yellow snot (only way to describe it, really). I used both for just under two weeks, as directed.
Its been about two months now, and Im getting concerned. I cant find any fur growing in, but the skin on this area has darkened (its as black as her fur) and become coarse. It doesnt seem to agitate the dog, but do I need to be concerned? Ill be taking the dog to the vet as soon as I can, but any advice/opinions would be welcome.
Answer: The darkening of the skin is normal, and is due to the absence of hair, and exposure to sun, heat, cold, etc. It is likely that the changes in skin texture are for the same reasons. In my personal experience, however, it is rare for a dog to have permanent hair loss from an insect bite, so I would question the diagnosis. If it is not getting larger or multiplying, there is probably no treatment regardless of the cause.

A few years ago something bit my hand.
It hurt like the bite hit bone.
Over the next few days then weeks and months the bite area grew to cover most of palm.
It would get watery under skin and bubbled up. It was so raw under skin hurt itched and none of the creams or pills the doc gave me helped. The area would bubble up and grow to size of the bandage covering it( latex) .
It went away right away when doc gave me steroids, but came right back just as fast when I ran out of steroids.
The skin drys with large areas of it into flaky patches. and the area that had been mushy and raw w. watery stuff turns into a very dry white mesh.
After nearly 2 years it went away.
Almost 2 years has past. It is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any ideas? The doc said brown poison spider bite when he saw it way back when.
Any one seen anything like this?
Any ideas what it is?
How to get it to go and stay away?
Is it relapse from spider poison?
My doctor did swab the liquid area of my hand and sent it to the lab.
He then changed my antibiotics as well as the cream. I asked him if this was staff or anything that I could pass on to anyone else.
He said it was not.
Also the woman doctor I saw about this.... as 2nd opinion, after months of watching the changes on my hand,said It was not contagious.
She is the one who gave me steroids after trying 2 more antibiotics over a couple months.
By the way..... lots of antibiotics in a womans body can cause so many unfun side effects, it seems to be less than worth the risks. (said w/ hindsight 20/20)

Clear Spiders?
I have a horrible reoccuring dream involving clear spiders. You can barely see them until its too late, I usually wake up when the clear spiders start eating my face or something. I had a really awful dream involving the nest of spiders growing under the skin of my forehead, the nest broke one day at work and I had baby clear spider erupting from my head. I figure its because I am afraid of spiders, so I dont really need an interpretation, but are there any other arachnaphobes afraid of clear spiders?

My spider had a bad molt. She might be dying....how can I help her?
My other spider, Venom, Ive had for about two months now. She is almost full grown. She had all the signs of molting beside webbing. She started going into a death curl and didnt seem like she was able to do anything on her own. She could barely move and when she did she would fall frontwards onto her face. I got scared and checked her out and her skin was crunchy and cracking really bad. Me being me I helped her molt for 3 hours straight. she hardened up with her back legs laying down and now she uses her front legs to pull herself around. I keep a coffee filter with her at all times in her cage soaked with warm water and she loves it. She also has a heating pad that i keep under her cage. She hasnt eaten since then and she has been hardened up for a few days now. what should I do to make sure she has a good life? Will she go back to normal when she molts again?

I had to move a lot as a kid, sometimes without having said good-bye, because of some hard situations. One time we were run out of a neighborhood because my parents are a mixed marriage and other times my mom had a stalker. I havent had any good relationships since the last time we moved which was 3 whole years ago. Answer: Just by that description, it's hard to tell. A spider bite may be a possibility. However, you may also have picked up a staph type skin infection at the beach. In either case, the wound should be evaluated by a physician.
