Whats the weather going to be like on the last week of march in hong kong? I sit gonna be cold?
Im heading to HK next week. Im not sure of what to pack but a friend suggested a light sweater or thick cardigan. Is it gonna be chilly? The weather forecast is kinda confusing, it staed diferently on diff. websites. Some stated high of 25 deg celcius and low of 17, some stated high of 28 low of 21. Pls advise!!!
Is the weather the same on rainy weather in Singapore or is the temperature just like the one in Genting Highlands malaysia? Thanks!
Answer: HK is wet with small rain very often during March and Apr. You may need a jacket sometime, and it could be quite hot around 28c sometime. I will suggest just to bring whatever you need for the airplane. HK is the prefect place to shop for clothes, just brought whatever you need there.

what does it mean "over the course " in this weather forecast text?
A dryer couple of days for Tokyo with those typical showers theyll bubble up for Singapore over the course the next two days.
Answer: It should read 'over the course of the next two days', which means 'during the next two days'.
The forecast says that there will be less rain than usual in Tokyo, but in Singapore the weather will become more rainy in the next two days.
'over the course' is a phrase used when something happens steadily over time. Examples: 'The men became more drunk over the course of the evening.' or 'The leaves continued to fall over the course of the day.' or 'The athlete became more tired over the course of the race.'

Answer: Singapore is located close to the pacific ring of fire. This is the region above where the pacific plate is being pulled under the Eurasian plate. At a destructive plate boundary such as this, earthquakes and volcanoes are common. Have a look at the location of singapore and how far it is from the plate boundary. Research the natural disasters that took place there in the past because, as sure as death, they WILL happen again.

Girls... Whats the coldest temperature at which youre barefoot at home?
Okay, so whats the coldest temperature (external, like on the weather forecast) at which youre still in your bare feet around the house?
I think its around 7 degrees C (45 F) for me, and then I put on slippers if it gets colder. I NEVER EVER wear socks, not even to school =p (good thing my school lets girls wear trousers in winter)
Source: I live in England, its 9.30 at night and chilly, and Im barefoot right now. Im just used to being this way, even if it means having to rub my feet together and walk on my tiptoes (which I usually do anyway =p). Kind of surprising actually: I used to live in Singapore which is really HOT.
But yeah, I cant stand socks. And it feels uncomfortable to wear shoes at home... besides, we Chinese never do that!
Answer: I'm with you! I GREATLY dislike socks!
I've walked barefooted in snow before and I didn't freeze (although it still wasn't a good idea). However, I have bad circulation in my feet so that prevents me from feeling most heat/cold/pain/tickle and they get frostbite extremely easily and I can't tell.
But yeah, I usually go barefooted most of the time until my parents tell me to put socks or slippers on (usually when my feet turn purple) but anyway... !
So yeah, the only reason I use socks with my shoes is for extra arch support.

Things to do in Singapore when its rainy?
My family and I are going to Singapore next week but sadly the weather forecast says there will be a high chance of rain and some thunder storms. Its too late to not go because we have the tickets, and honestly I am just happy to get out of my home for a bit.
I was wondering if anyone knew if the Singapore Zoo or other attractions would still be open or if there are other things that we could do when its raining. I heard Snow City has just opened there. Any other suggestions?
Answer: We visited Singapore in the November 2008. I think because Singapore has so much rain year round attractions would have to stay open. We never had a full-on rainy day where it rained all day. There were downpours virtually everyday at some time, but most of the time when it rained, it would for 15 minutes and then it stopped, and a couple of hours later it rained again. Be prepared for astronomically high humidity!!! We got pretty wet at the zoo - BUT - it's still a great place to go, especially with children - try to have breakfast there, and arrive early to feed the elephants. It's magic! At the zoo they have a large wet area with water buckets, water spouts etc, and the kids had a ball - good idea to pack some swimwear and a towel when you go. We didn't get a chance to go to Snow CIty, as my daughter twisted her ankle prior, but that was on our list of places to go.
Other places we really enjoyed (bearing in mind that the 4 kids were aged from 11 - 7) were:
- Jurong Bird Park (this has some quite steep hills in it, so be prepared for a bit of a workout),
- Little India (but many of the footpaths are single file - difficult to keep an eye on 4 children),
- Chinatown was rainy on the day we went, but has lots of malls and arcades to shelter under,
- Sentosa island was wet intermittently, but still lots to see there,
- the shopping malls are a sight to behold (and always good to shelter in), and
- we went to Malaysia (Johor Bahru) for the day, and got TOTALLY drenched walking back from the mall to the bus depot. Got some strange looks (foreigners looking like drowned rats). 2 of the children had new passports which the system wouldn't accept on the way back in to Singapore (even though we entered Singapore originally with no problems), which meant we were detained for over an hour in an airconditioned room that was set to icy - not good when everyone is wet and tired.
Two places I wouldn't recommend are the national museum - the free areas are very ordinary, and the interesting exhibits are pay-per-view - with 6 of us, that added up really quickly - and as you're going with children I'd give Simlim square a miss (depending on the age of your family), or just send the person who loves to bargain, while the rest go elsewhere. 3 hours of looking at only electronic stores with 4 little girls (and not a coffee shop in the place) while my husband bargained his way to the deal of the decade was NOT the highlight of the trip.
A city bus tour (eg Duck or Hippo) would also be good in the rain, I think. And then there's Wild Wild Wet waterpark, closer to the airport - we didn't go there, but that's only because we ran out of time.
I'm really looking forward to going back in 3 weeks with a girlfriend, so that we can do the 'girly things' ie spa, high tea etc, that you just can't do with 4 children in tow. We'll only have a week, but will be going back to have breakfast at the zoo, shop in Little India / Arab St / Bugis, head over to Sentosa and go to Malaysia for the day... Can't wait! Singapore is awesome! Definitely more than just a stopover destination.
Oh, and make sure you buy an EzyLink card for the MRT and buses - works out cheaper than the visitor pass thingy if you're there for more than 3 days. Also be aware that it's generally much cheaper to eat out at the street vendors (hawkers) than cook meals yourself (if your accommodation provides those facilities) and if you do buy extra milk, make sure it's REAL milk - the first time we bought some thickened stuff 'made with real milk' that was hideous.
www.yoursingapore.com has lots of other things to see and do.

Please help me cause its not easy to find a website that can predict what type of natural disasters are going to come about in the near-future and why. Thank you for answering!!!

Answer: Here's the types of things that are natural disasters: hurricanes (or typhoons), floods, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, wildfires, and droughts. Since these types of disasters are very different from one another, and since the risks vary in different locations, predictions are usually made individually for a particular location, for each type of disater that is likely to occur in that location -so its unlikely you will find the info on a single site. In Singapore/SE Asia, common disasters are flooding from monsoon rains, typhoons, earthquakes, and Tsunamis. You can Google each of these along with "Singapore".
Most of these disaster can't be predicted exactly, but the probabilities can be calculated (i.e. likely to occur one in five years).

Sight seeing, shopping, weather in Boston?
I will go to boston this Friday from Singapore, how is the weather like ? I get some online weather forecast but I really have no idea what clothes should I wear in that temperature, since its always summer in Singapore.
And what are the places to visit? I have about 3 days, one afternoon with a friend who has a car. however, he asks me where I want to go!
And about shopping, I want to buy some good and cheap things, like in outlets? What are the places I should go and buy many things without spending much time?
Thank you very much!
See you guys this weekend!
Answer: Friday will be warm and humid, with some rain arriving for Saturday (see the full forecast here: http://www.HinghamWeather.com/forecast.html
There are lots of things to see in Boston (Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall, the Aquarium, Museum of Fine Arts, Freedom Trail etc).
The Wrentham Outlets (http://www.premiumoutlets.com/wrentham/) have a lot of good deals, but that is about a 30-45 minute ride by car from Boston (depending on traffic).
