Supporters of immigration activist Elvira Arellano Arellano is calling for a national day of prayer is GOD ok?
With document fraud ? Supporters of immigration activist Elvira Arellano are laying out their plan of action for the next month. They are planning events in Chicago, in Congress and across the border.
The 32-year-old illegal immigrant took sanctuary in Chicagos West side Adalberto United Methodist Church for a year. She was arrested earlier this month in Los Angeles and deported to Tijuana, Mexico shortly last weekend.
But activists where she took refuge say the battle is just beginning. Arellano is calling for a national day of prayer on September 12 -- a few days after Congress reopens hearings on immigration reform.
Shell participate in a march in Mexico, while activists hold similar rallies in Washington, D.C. and outside immigration offices in other cities. Activists insist its what the American people want.http://cbs2chicago.com/topstories/local_story_237170645.html
"Seventy-five percent of this country is opposed to the separation of families and a small minority of hate has forced us to step away from this issue," said Rev. Walter Coleman of Adelberto United Methodist Church.
The only person separating her family is Arellano. Why did she leave her child in America ? What is wrong with raising her child in her home country of Mexico ? Why does she not apply for Mexican citizenship for her son ? Her home country of Mexico has welcomed her with open arms. Why would she want to leave ?
Answer: Her son is a citizen per Mexican law. If there is a march anywhere in Mexico, it's not well known, I live in Mexico and read the papers, not a word.
I say, let em march it might help diminish there love handles.
About medical issues in Mexico, 3 weeks ago I had an eye infection so I went to a Dr. cost 2.00$ got a prescription. went to the drug store, the medicine 3.00$, get this, the prescription is good forever, no more Dr. visits.

Answer: The architect of the theatre was Alfred Wong, who designed it in 1963.

PMs calculation of ERP increase at National Day Rally Speech?
I have notice that PM Lees calculation of ERP increase vs Road Tax reduction, that the increase in ERP is only $76 per year. Divided that by 5-day week for a year, it works out to 30cents per day. I have seen my ERP increase by more than double from $2 daily to more than $4 now. Did those genius from the statistic dept got their facts wrong, which is often the case?
If not, they might have pick half the figure from those who pay ERP and the other half who does not need, and get the average. Has they forgotten that most people are working in areas that need to pass through ERP gantries?
Another ivory tower, out of touch issue to think about...
Answer: Simple: The ERP hurts those that have to pass the gantries. Many people own cars but rarely use them. They are also calculated in this system. The bottom line is: using your car now costs more, not using it is much cheaper. This furthermore helps economic growth because car sales go up. A win-win situation for the government, and a total loss for car drivers.

Are Christians who rally for the National Day of Prayer ignoring certain parts of their Bible?
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." (Matthew 6:5-6)
Also, does this mean Obama is a good Christian? Because he understands this and decided to pray in private and not in front of the masses for political gain?
Answer: I will remember this forever. Thank you for your insight.

Why National Day Rally Speech must touch on Racial, Religion, Harmony,Toleration, World Affairs, Health, etc?
What the Prime Minister touch on in his National day rally speech to the Citizen & the world. Hope Obama is keeping an eye on this for his coming Apec Summit in Spore in Nov 2009 and also for his reform consideration.

Take a look, do a search for the concerned people to say something or comment on the outcome of the speech by the PM. Can you do it?
Answer: Normally a National Rally Speech concentrate on the home affairs and the citizen progress of a country but topic has changed to touch on RACE, RELIGION & HARMONY in the world to caution all that such happening in any kind will be too dangerous to handle...even worst than any terrorist act. The main element is toleration among the people of a country and the ability to stay together and work together to share the joy of success.

Do we need to resort to matchmaking to increase birth rate?
In the Mandarin National day rally speech, PM Lee said that the Chinese community had a very low total fertility rate (TFR) of 1.14. He suggested that maybe Peoples Association could consider organising Parental Matchmaking Sessions so that parents can find suitable partners for their single children. What do you think?
Answer: Different people will have different say. Most of us will probably disagree with this method as Parental Matchmaking after all might do little to help in increasing fertility rate but a fact remains clear, we cannot deny that it may just be one of the ways for couples to get hitched in an indirect manner.
'Resort' shouldn't be the word, it makes people feel that Matchmaking is a disgraceful thing. But Im sure most of us would have read the papers reporting that more people are beginning to sought modern Matchmaking agencies for help. Love is something that the society is beginning to lose touch of, let alone true love and happily ever after. But those who experienced it sweetly before or are still having it will certainly not regret having it once again.
yes, 1.14 is considered low. But if 80 to 90% of the community is contributing , im sure it will not be. Families don't have to have many children, it is the total effort of the community that counts.
Once again, for those who seek match making assistance, do not feel shy or disgraceful about it. If you really find happiness from it, who are those to comment about it?!

will you particpate a day without a American?
April 17th, i hope you do
National Day of Protest: A day without Americans April 17, 2006
In response to the recent mass national rallies fearlessly staged by the illegal alien lobby, The Dustin Inman Society is suggesting that Americans nationwide stay home from work and not spend any money on April 17. 2006 - the first day after tax day.
The country needs to witness a day without Americans.
It is not an overstatement to observe that the federal government has abandoned the American people and we teeter on the brink of national suicide.
The well-funded illegal alien lobby has been successful in galvanizing the millions of illegal aliens in the nation to march in American streets demanding no less than open borders, continued selective law enforcement and amnesty for people who should be in fear of apprehension and deportation.
you people are stupid hello what you like these illegals telling you how things are going to be wussys i dont care what day it falls on i am participating even if i am the only one
an to that guy get a clue do you even read hello this day is for americans not illegals lol gimme a break
thanks angry American i put my john hancock on pet , and thanks to everyone else who is supporting America
to angi you think i am a racist here well here we go again do you really think that comment will change minds ? and be happy i stand by my claim i will be happy may 1st
Answer: That's exactly what I've been saying. People love to complain about everythin but really don't want to do anything to change things. They want everyone else to do it for them.
Why do you think the Latinos are getting their way? THEY ARE ORGANIZED and get off their butts.

Does Singapore really a need a law forcing children to take care of their aged parents? If yes, why?
The issue of caring for aged parents was recently raised in PM Lee’s National day rally. Parliament is also debating the issue. But does Singapore really a need a law forcing children to take care of their aged parents? What do you think? Could high medical costs also be an issue and how you do think Singapore should tackle this growing concern?
Answer: There is not a single doubt in my mind that filial piety is a value that Asians need to uphold. However, we are now in a state of dilemma - to enact law to achieve an end, and that is to enforce filial piety legally to address the ageing population problem or to consider other means of achieving the same end result.
I would like to urge that all perspectives and circumstances are carefully considered and debated before enacting such a law to govern human relationship and family ties. Law is objective and trascends empathy in order to enforce justice. This destroys the basic element of any human relationship, especially complex family relationship further. To enact a filial piety law - will this compound our major problem of declining fertility further and contribute to more fewer marriages and more import of foreigners ultimately? I do not have an answer and I hope our Government has an answer to it. I agree with the social sector that we need to look beyond law to achieve such end.
We need to ask ourselves - what make our children foresake their parents? Is it due to heavy financial burden or health issue that the children cannot undertake this responsibility? Is it due to broken ties? Is it a blatant disregard of children' responsibility to their parents? If this is due to financial or health reasons, then, this is not a question of filial piety anymore because the children would also have a parental and personal responsibility to fulfill. Which comes first - a question that is not easy to answer. This would mean the government would need to find non-legal ways to help this group of people to support their aged parents in the very hour of genuine needs. If it is due to broken ties where the aged parents did not fulfill the parental responsibility in the first place, how then can we convincingly convince their children to live up to their part of the bargain later on. Any good and effective law needs to address this fundamental issue of fairness and equity. I know of aged parents who hoard their own money and expect their children to contribute to their monthly expenses, medical bills etc even when the children can hardly make ends meet. If this is a blatant disregard of filial piety, this is the group of people where the government should really go after but what is most tricky is how to enact law that targets this small group of people.
I would like to believe that most who forsake their aged parents belong to the first and second groups. No one, as a human being, would not shoulder the basic responsibility of taking care of their loved ones if financial state and health permit.
Singapore is facing an ageing population issue, the burden on the government is severe no doubt. However, to enact a filial piety law, we are just telling ourselves that this severe burden of responsibility should solely lies with our children and our future Singapore children. The world has changed dramatically and drastically in the last 30 years and the Singapore children who are born in the 60s and 70s face this largest burden of responsibility of taking care of our aged parents, rising cost of living, taking care of our children and at the same time worrying about job security. For example, during our parents' time, CPF contribution rate was the highest at 40% combined and there was no one single cut in CPF contribution rate. Our future children in the 80s, 90s and 2000s would even feel more stressful no doubt. Living stress could be more severe than my generation going forward into the future.
Business cyles are becoming shorter and shorter. In a short 12 years (1997 to 2009), Singapore has faced three major economic downturns in Asian financial crisis, dot com bubble and the present global financial crisis. We all rallied as one Singapore - both the Government and the people. I wish we will tackle this ageing population problem as one people together and shoulder this burden of responsibility as one Government and people.
If the premise is that a filial piety law can address the ageing population issue, then, it can also be concluded on the premise base on the same logic that we enact a parental law that each married couple must have 3 children at least or face a compounding fine to arrest the declining fertility problem. We have a stop- at-two population policy in the past. In this way, we will need to rely less on foreigner import to make up the number to sustain our economy. In China, there is such a penalty which I have heard where a couple would be fined for having more than one child under normal circumstance to contain the population problem.
Perhaps, we may consider some form of maintenance tax if our affluent children were to send their aged parents to old folks homes. In this way, it may make more sense to look after the aged parents at home to keep the family fabric intact and free up precious land resource to take in aged parents with a genuine needs by these old folks homes . For the

Will you be attending the National Day of Prayer? And why didnt Obama make any kind of statement on the?
http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/us/2011/June/Texas-Governor-to-Hold-National-Prayer-Rally/
anniversary of D- Day also known as Operation Overlord to honor those that paid the ultimate sacrifice to preserve a free Europe and US??
Answer: There isn't a specific place to "go to", to attend the National Day of Prayer. It is an event created by fundamentalist Christians to try to get people to pray more. I am certainly no fundamentalist, and I'm not a Christian, and the fundamentalists and I rarely ever agree on anything, but on this one thing, I think I can agree with them. I think it is a good idea to encourage people to become conscious of praying more. Now, of course the fundamentalists have a very specific form of prayer they have in mind about this, and again, on that, I would disagree with them. But then, why would we have to follow the way they wanted us to pray? I say pray in whatever way works for you.
And as for Obama not making any statement on D-Day, I have no idea. I suggest you write to him, and ask.
Peace and Namaste!

What are your thoughts on this years National Day Rally?
Share with us your thoughts on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Longs National day rally speech.
Answer: Every National Day Speech or Rally, is meant to let Citizens have some light into our Government's plans to improve our lives, instil sense of National Pride into you and give you something to dream about. In short, it is to encourage you to strive harder and be more positive of your future as a Singaporean.
Education, is key and fundamental to our country's future as our children are pillars of our future's society and supports or maintains a steadfast economic progress for our country. The crux of it lies in how much benefits will really be accorded to our own breed and creed compared to the PRs and foreign students? In addition, how equal will it really be between the gap of the rich and the poor, giving true equality and fair competitiveness? Last but not least is whether our education system is turning our future generations into paper chasers and finally ending up in a never-ending cycle of bills to get by and settle?
As for foreign workers, reducing from 100,000 to 80,000 and slowing down the influx is quite a piece of good news. But then there is the part left out which is on allowing 45,000 Bangladeshi domestic workers (maids) to be recruited into Singapore. Bangladesh is considered as a Non-Traditional Source (NETS), used to be only for the marine and construction sectors but is it not adding on of 25,000 more foreign workers than reducing?
The Government engaging in the property market by introducing more new public housing off 22,000 units, increased from previous 16,000 units is a good measure to cool off the rising prices of properties. But what type of public housing? Designed and Built which price tag is as close to the private condominiums? Or is it going to be really affordable to Singaporeans? Furthermore, new restrictions imposed like increasing the number of years to reside then owner can sell it, is good. But why decrease percentage of loan amount from 80% to 70% for second property owners? Any measures taken for Senior Citizens who wish to buy a second property for his own use or retirement stay and leaving his first property to his off springs who may not be able to buy one on their own? Or in a divorce case, a spouse may have to get a second property so that appropriate accommodation be provided when the family splits up?
Singapore have a growing population of senior citizens. Are we forcing them to live under one roof, cramped up in a small flat, with married off springs and grand children? Is this the idea of a 3 tier family, suffocating in a single unit? Should we not consider our senior citizens who have slogged their lives and contributed to our Nation, in one way or another?
With Singaporeans seeking and dreaming of the 5 "C"s, marital woes surged and divorce rates went up and causing our birth rates to go down. When that happens, either one of the spouse may have to end up sleeping o the streets? Being a Singapore Citizen, why can't they buy a second property unit and have alternatives for their lives after or during their rough patch of their lives?
The decreased percentage from 80% to 70% on loans will not only make the above 2 categories of people's life more difficult but also adds on to their burden, ending up in another cycle of bills and loans to pay and to settle till they die. Does that mean Singaporeans are going to be like what our (SMM) LKY had said that all Singaporeans should not have any retirement age?
Dreams, aspirations, hopes,... it is up to every Singaporean to go for what they want and work for. I believe all Singaporeans will only really dare to dream, aspire and hope, if it is truly equal and fair to the 100% true Singaporean whose fore fathers had contributed to the building of our Nation and made us really as One United People.

National Day Rally - Your views on PM Lee Hsien Loongs speech for Singapores National Day?
Pro-government speech or a speech that is sincere and honest?
Answer: OMG! Sheena, now that you mentioned it, he does bear a resemblence to PM Lee Hsien Loong.
I found PM Lee's speech to be very "safe", not too outgoing nor dynamic, putting lots into not offending any sectors ( which is a good thing since Singapore is multi cutural and has been since ages... and it works wonderfully well for Singapore ). I think this year his speech is more in motivating the people than anything else. Then again... I have very biased views on all politicians lol... seems to me they is all crooked or uptight or seductors of interns..ahem... last one was a low blow ( no pun intended )lol
But then again Clinton looks 45767% better than Bush jr. OR Snr.
