Answer: If you are a permanent resident, or citizen of Singapore and you are trying to bring your mother in law to Singapore on a long term visa, you need to correct the discrepancy in her name to follow according to her birth certificate. So you have to go back to the place/country/embassy that issued her passport and your wife's passport to correct it. From what you said, if your mother in law is not from Singapore, the Singapore courts will not be able to issue any document if you dont have any supporting evidence like a Original Birth Certificate of your mother-in-law or your wife's.
You can also seek the Legal Aid Bureau for more legal advice.

Answer: Maybe, cause it may look different to them or maybe they think you are making fun or teasing them. Some may even think you are insulting them too. Anyway, it largely depend on who is looking at your passport when clearing the custom, but if you face still look the same with the photo on your passport, then you should not be banned by them. Most probably they will tell you that you need to change your photo.

I entered Singapore today i miscalculated the number of my stay instead of 28 days i wrote down 23 days, but ICA encircled the 23 days in my DE and then when i checked my passport i was given 30 days to stay. Answer: No it won't matter. The stamp on your passport is the valifity period and that is what counts.
If you had written 4 days or something, you would have been given a 14 day entry. Since you asked for 23 days, you're given 30 days.
So its no big deal and you will not be violating it.

one year ban from singappore(can i appeal regarding this)?
Hi there
I cme singapore for my study here i got engage with work which is illegal by singapore law.I got clean chit by MOM no fine nothing,but my passport is with ICA .Today i went there they are asking me leave the country by 18 April and i will gt ban from singapore for one year.
1: Can i get extension till month end
2: Can i appeal regarding ban coz here is a employer how is ready to issue me S-pass or i can study.

Answer: I am sorry to hear this has happened to you. My suggestion is to lodge an appeal with the ICA for the extension. You need to give a good reason when you see them. You are lucky that you are not receiving a fine or worse. The Singapore authorities are not inflexible but they are strict. Maybe your potential employer can help you out with a letter saying he will employ you.
Be careful about telling the right story. You cannot be a student and also work.
Finally, if it doesn't work out then stay away from Singapore for a year. You might wish to consider working in Malaysia where there are many job opportunities. Maybe not as well paying as Singapore but you might get something good if you ask around.

I had married a foreign wife after a week later she was caught by ICA of entering singapore using different passport and name. We know each other for almost 1 year, I known her under her nickname, everytime when I went to visit her in china, she treated me very well. We love each other very much, due to the love she scare of me knowing about her past in singapore. After we decided to get ROM, she taking risk of using different passport and name to enter singapore. And now she was sentenced. Now our ROM cert is under her different passport and name, What I should do to maintain the marriage?
