During the Olympics, Serena lost to Dementieva and Venus subsequently lost to Na Li. So this time Serena loses to Na Li. Will Venus lose her next round to Bonderenko? Will they continue to play doubles?
Answer: I'm sure the doubles is still on. As talented as these chinese players are, how come they're not in the top 20 or top 10? They can defeat top players, but can't defeat players that are ranked just as low as they are.That I don't understand. As far as Serena goes, just as soon as she gets to No. 1, she loses it, and Jankovic will return to No. 1 next week. Just goes to show why the women's game is so unbalanced right now. Since Henin's absence, Ivanovic, Jankovic, and Serena have been unable to hold on to No. 1 for a decent amount of time.
Serena failed to keep her game up against Na Li. You would think after a winning a bagel set, she would keep it up. Most unexpected of her, coming off a US Open victory. Hopefully she'll finish stronger and cut the mistakes out of her game. Venus should have a good chance now to go deep in the tournament and maybe win it.

She gives away SO much of her money. What charitable work did Sharapova do, because she must have done a lot? Does anyone know?
Answer: Li Na deserved it, hands down! She made far less than Sharapova, but still donated more. Sharapova made one trip to Russia with her IMG PR people and cameras in tow and suddenly she's a big time humanitarian.
I would disregard the video and article posted by the person above. If you watch the video and read the article, you will see that they're fluff pieces created by her management company, IMG, in an effort to change Sharapova's public image. The video focused so heavily on Sharapova's celebrity and even a nice little plug for the IMG Academies while the article might as well feature a picture of Sharapova depicted as a very glamorous Mother Theresa .
I read the guidelines for the Humanitarian award and it turns out that a select group of fans (possibly influenced or chosen by the very corrupt IMG) voted for who should win this award. There is a joke around what is now the IMG Academies that IMG owns 75% and counting of everything tennis and I wouldn't be surprised if they had a hand in making this happen for Sharapova.
Sharapova does do some charity work and that's better than nothing, but she's not the Humanitarian of the year. I know if Li Na got a huge endorsement deal from Nike the way Sharapova did, a large cut of that would've gone towards helping others rather than in the pockets of makers of luxury items and designer clothes the way Sharapova's has. The funny thing about the youtube video that the fan above posted of Sharapova is that the jet ride to Russia cost more than what Sharapova actually donated and I won't even scrutinize the cost of what she was wearing. At the end of the day its her money, she can do whatever she wants, but the point is: she is NOT the tennis humanitarian of the year. Li Na should've won.

Is it more of Clijsters winning it or Li Na losing it?
Obviously both are a factors but which is more? Explain why you think so, i.e. I am looking for more than a yes/no answer.
Answer: I definitely say it was Li Na losing it. Like someone else said she lost her composure and got distracted by the crowd, which deeply affected her decision making. Li was the more aggressive of the two so I think the match was on her racket more than it was on Kim. Clijisters did a good job of mixing up her game and being poised but most of the points came off the errors of Li. I do understand defense is how Kim wins but I believe Li was missing because of the outside factors. Still an excellent match though.

I couldnt believe it. After Kim was leading 5-0 in the opening set, I thought for sure Kim was going to finish off her in two. What a great win for Li Na! Kim, better luck next time. AO is really wide open now.

when i found out Kim was leading 5-0 in the first set and LI NA came back reeling off 5-6 games straight to bring kim to a tie break... and defeated kim in that tie break and then played even stronger in the second set winning 6-3..
unbelievable show from LI NA... showing incredibly fighting power, determination and the ability to crumble kims game....
this is another lesson that any player no matter how well they are doing is beatable on any given day.. another lesson that rare comebacks can happen and players can win from the brink of defeat
looking forward to the australian open... Kim will still be the player to beat....but she will have to be atleast 90% to bring it to other players..
i see serious competition and challenges coming from Justine henin, Venus Willams, and Sharpova... they are all going to go through a power struggle to regain domiance.... as these are orginally truly the best players...
i really like henins chances at taking this slam.. i think she is going to be feeling very freash and determined.. and i think perhaps Clijsters will want to win a slam aside from the US OPEN and might fold in the proces..
