Buying insurance for baby in Singapore?

Tot buying buying insurance policy for my 3 mth old baby but at a lost of what policy to purchase. Currently theres Education, Endowment, Investment..what are their diff and whats the minimun sum I can buy? My agent told me to purchase SGD$50 for one policy but I find it too expensive. Any ideas and which ins company is better? GE?AiA?Prudential?Aviva? Thanks.

So, if you are thinking of $50 per month, and you buy an Endowment with return of about 3.5% per annual, you can never achieve the amount 21 years later ( You will get about $19,000 after 23 years). Thus you may want to consider a investment policy with potiential higher return. Of course, it's best to consult a financial adviser. All insurance companies is about the same.

At the moment, NTUC has just up their offer to provide coverage for congenital illness and community hospitals and removed the 4-day notification (to match that of Great Eastern). However, for Private Hospital Plan, Great Eastern is still slightly cheaper. If you also want to cover the co-insurance and deductible, Great Eastern's TotalShield is the one.

Is there such thing as minimum payable by insurance company?

In Singapore, I brought a AIA medishield. 7 weeks ago i was hospitalised. After government grant deduction, my payable bill is less than $600. I want to claim the medishield insurance.It sent me letter saying that my claim is approved but the amount is less than minimum $2000 payable and so it cannot pay the amount for me. I could not find my hard copy policy contract that stated that. What can i do to verify? Who should i approach?

In your case there may be such exceptions might be existed. So go through your master policy copy.
