Why do I end up in Yahoo Malaysia or Yahoo Singapore in Elections forum?
Im a USA citizen living in Ohio. Ive noticed that quite often, maybe 3 times out of 10 topics in Elections, I somehow end up looking at a question in Yahoo Malaysia or Yahoo Singapore. Why is that? Are people from Malaysia and Singapore trying to influence our voting choices? I understand there may be USA citizens in those countries, but surely not that many. So what gives?
Answer: Dear isom ! I am from China . I can give you a good answer for this . Don't forget that USA is the most democratic country all over the world . I have not come to USA and will have not enough say to this . But I think the case for this means more people to be more attention about the USA elections and learn to USA . I think nothing happened . Please don't worry . Category: Civic Participation

Official government website about elections in Singapore.
Singapore government propose "cooling day" before election day, should this day be a public holiday ?
Answer: Well, it's not necessarily a bad idea by itself, but the period between nomination day and election day is way way too short. With that short time, the system favors the candidate who is already in office. The challenger has only 9 days to acquaint the public with him or herself, whereas the sitting candidate has had years.
So the real issue is not the cooling day, the real issue is the very very short campaign period. Cooling day actually extends the period the public has to learn about the new candidate, so it's not so bad. Category: Government
