Why there is so many spammers at Yahoo Singapore?
Recently, I been helping out Singaporean and foreigners coming to Singapore in Yahoo Answers. However when I go back to review their questions, I realised there are a lot of spammers in this sections (asking same questions and reporting same replies in a questions) and I had to spend a lot of time reporting them. I suspect there is a group of people that is trying to be a nuisance to this community.
Can we do anything to stop them from flooding this section?
This question is meant for all good Singaporeans and IT support of Yahoo Answers. Spammers will be reported for spamming this question.

Why flood on Orchard Road? What should be done?
A heavy rain caused major flooding on Orchard Road yesterday, with luxury retailer Hermes, fast food outlets, and a few other shops were completely underwater. The water level on the road was about half a meter deep, making the roads impassable to traffic.
This was not the first heavy rain in Singapore, which seems to have very good drainage systems. Some say it was partly because of the bad road works after the construction of Orchard Ion. In your opinion, why had the heavy flood happened for the first time at Orchard? What should be done to prevent this from happening again in rainy seasons?
News about the flood:
1. "The day Orchard Road turned into ‘Orchard River’" - http://sg.yfittopostblog.com/2010/06/16/flash-floods-cause-havoc-in-singapore/
2. Incredible photos of the flood - http://www.flickr.com/search/show/?q=flood%2C+orchard+road%2C+SIngapore&s=rec
Answer: This is because of a choked drain somewhere in Orchard Road. This happened because the heavy rain blocked the drain. The other reason is that there were 3 earthquakes in the Papua province of Indonesia, causing a tsunami which also added up to this flood. To prevent this, the government of Singapore should set up drains that never get choked.
Even high-class restaurants like the Wendy's was affected by the flood. It caused a millions of dollars of loss to the restaurant. Not only that, many shopping malls were also affected. Many vehicles were toppled down by the flood and some drained in the flood. This resulted in the owner of the vehicles to send the for for a repair. Some had no choice but to purchase another one. It has been confirmed that it will take 4 complete weeks to turn this Orchard River back to Orchard Road.
Singaporeans are shocked because this is an unexpected incident. The worsening thing that adds up to this is that the flood took place in Central Singapore.
In my opinion, I don't think that this will happen again as Technology has been improving rapidly. I am definitely sure that this incident has the slightest chance to happen in the future. It would be good to the citizens and PRs and those living here if there will be no more floods in Singapore.

Singaporean do you think our government is too much , we cannot criticized the government .?
Our government arrest a wanbao ( 晚报) photographer for writing news about singapore ( flooding ) and why he was arrested , the reason the government give is because of his safety . bullshit
because of this incident
a PNS men ( police national service men ) speak out for the photographer , he say actually the policeman who handcuff the photographer , is wrong because he ( photographer) never done anything wrong ) he only report the flooding in singapore , and he get arrested , why ???
and the PNS men also arrest for saying government
our government is more scared of losing their face den our people life . who agree with me
Answer: Yes compared to many countries, Singapore ranks the one of the lowest in terms of freedom of speech/press.
Singapore ranks 100+ with countries like Iran, Afghanistan with regards to freedom of press.
You got to know that Singapore media (TV, Radio) is used by the government as tools to promote "national education".
There simply isn't any other mainstream media providing an alternative voice. All we hear is indirectly from the government and what they want us to hear.
Looking at the answerers above, we know many Singaporeans are not matured yet to accept freedom of speech.
A matured society is one that can accept criticisms, different opinions and freedom of speech and not feel "insulted" easily.
Many Singaporeans generally get "insulted" easily and turn to the govt/police for everything. So I guess we're just not ready for freedom of speech/press.
Singaporeans got to realise one day we cannot turn to the govt or police for EVERY little comment that we deem "insulting". We got to realise one day that we should take "alternative opinion", insults with a pinch of salt and let others say what they wanna say, instead of banning, censoring or arresting these people or getting offended so easily.
For the Wanbao reporter, I think probably he should have listened to the police officer but the police officer NEED NOT have used his handcuffs.
For the PNS who spoke up, I don't think there was a need for an arrest. Let him say what he wants if the police is sure of what they are doing. Why bother? Why arrest? Like I said, we should be matured enough not to be offended by little comments like these. They will comment and these comments come and go. There's no need for the police to get involved.
That's my opinion.

Why are many beautiful Singapore girls unattached?
Hi,
I am amazed to see so many pretty girls in Singapore being ignored by men. I am a straight, normal girl. I think that Singapore girls are the most beautiful in this world. Yet I find that most men are not interested in them. If a girl this beautiful wanders in streets of Germany, she will be flooded by offers of dates.
Are Singapore girls too difficult to handle? Or there is something else?
Most Singpaore men say that local girls are too demanding. Just what does that mean?
Answer: There is many possibility to your question.
Maybe it's not about the country "singapore".
Maybe it's about individual.
Are Singapore girls too difficult to handle?
- Depend on individual
Or there is something else?
- There may be a possibility that both party don't make their first move.
after-all it's the 21th century , people are afraid of getting rejected.
Most Singapore men say that local girls are too demanding
- There's always a reason behind those demands.
Some girls just want to feel secure,
Some girls just want to "prepare for the future",
if she's financially thrifty.
Some girls look ang moh[mostly european or westerner]
& many more , etc.
Many more than this ,
but it's not always the female partner is always the problem.
But What I think is that ,
both partners are not socially involve in relationship enough.
That what I've to say .

How come there are a lot of Indians in Singapore.?
I went to Singapore for 4 months and it was absolutely flooded with Indian people. I expected Singapore to have Indonesians, Thais, Malaysians and Chinese but why are there so many Indians there.
The trains and buses had 95% of Indians and 5% of southeast Asians.
And i went on a bus to go to this local shopping center and 3 Indian boys wouldnt stop starring, 1 Indian man looked like he was having an orgasm and a group of older Teenage Indian boys were perving at this 10-13 year old young Malaysian girl wearing a skirt which made 1 of those teenage boys to lie down slightly and try to look at her ****** If i wasnt sitting next to the young girl then those group of boys wouldnt think i was her older sister and they probably would have ended up kidnapping her :-S On the streets in the city, there were dozens of Indian people sitting on sidewalks, gutters of roads and some also had to squish up on benches. It was crazy.
So why are there a lot of Indian people in Singapore????????????
Answer: Singapore is 75% Chinese, and only 8% Indian. I am not sure what Singapore you are talking about but the trains and busses are mostly full of Chinese (locals and PRCs).

Why are there more floods in Singapore?
Answer: Because it has rained a lot!
Seriously though - I don't know, could it be the Marina barrage? No, I doubt it, it's got to be blockages in the drains or high tide happening during the storm. Was it a high tide this morning when we got flooded? I'm not sure. But Singapore has always flooded and perhaps always will do - so I don't think having underground car parking and building houses directly onto the ground is helping, they should build them slightly raised the way the old bungalows used to be.

Question about men and beautiful girls of Singapore.?
Hi,
I am a very plane looking, 35 year old German. I came to live and work in Singapore. I have been flooded with offers of dates from men. I am flattered. I think Singapore girls are far more beautiful, I am yet getting all attention.
I asked one of the men here why he chose to date me over a Singapore girl. He says that all Singapore girls look carbon copies, and hence Singapore men look for GFs elsewhere.
I am surprised. Even if most Singapore girls look alike, they are still very beautiful. Why do Singapore men look for girls in other countries?
Answer: If a guy, any guy for that matter, ask you for a date and you in turn ask him why he didn't ask someone else you have in mind (Singapore girls) in your case, what do you think his answers would be. His mind knows its a trap question, and answers accordingly. Singapore girls are ugly, carbon copies etc.
Anyway German girls are very attractive. From their accent, their forthrightness, their talkativeness.

PUB explains flash floods
SINGAPORE: National water agency PUB explained that the flash floods on Sunday morning were caused by two bouts of heavy rainfall.
IS flooding in Singapore a real problem? Explain.?
The 2 sides of it.
Please include the link or if its yr prior knowledge then its okay.
Answer: No, cause we have good drainage system and all the drains are designed in a way that waters will flow back to the reservoirs. In most housing estates you will find that we have alot of deep drains around.
However there are place where the drains are few and not well built, eg Chinatown and Thomson and thus flooding occurs.
As compared to places like Malaysia, you wont able to find many drains around due to the large area and the humongous cost involved in building more drains. You wont be surprised that floods happen often.
You have to look around Thomson area and also HDB estates and you will understand what I mean.

Are Singapore girls too difficult to handle? Or there is something else?
Answer: Not sure, being a Singaporean myself, I don't really like local men. It's probably due to the influx of people from around the world. And yes, we do command a certain degree on how our partners should be. Not all Singapore girls are unattached...most already have a partner.
Maybe it's also because of the equal career oportunities; females would forsake motherhood for work.

How can we care for the flooding in Johor ?
What can Singapore do for Johor ? Should Singapore do anything ? I dont think I have heard of any responses from Singapore about Johor flood ? Anybody heard any attempt of help or gesture of help to our neighbour ?
Answer: flooding in johor is a malaysian govt s problem, ofcourse singapore can help but this time or forever.this govt has all the priorities wrong. johor has always had floods ofcourse not this big scale but it was always here and the govt didnt do anything to sort it out. for instance the wisma in jb where all the govt servants and their pengarah work gets flooded when there is about 4 hours of heavy rains and it has been there for allthese years but the govt fail to rectify this problem. instead they want to build another penang bridge. it is a shame for us to have the twin towers and at he same time lose half of johor to 3 days of continous rains..we sent our troops all over the world to help but in our own country rescue comes in late where is the logic.
