I worried for getting ACCA part 3 qualification from Myanmar Union has the equal opportunity from getting UK?

i am a ACCA student and studying now in part 1.I heard that there is no opportunity for ACCA student who passed part 3 from Myanmar Union and not easy to get job in UK .That is right or wrong information. I very worried to that because I want to take a ACCA course from Myanmar, Someone say that ACCA gives a job to the unexperience student ? If that is true , I can give a request to the Acca global and can get a job when i pass ACCA part 3 .
Answer: It's not that hard to get a taxi license if you study. If that's too much, there are many opportunities in the food service industry.

Need advice with prospects for MBA/CPA/CA/CFA etc .. your suggestions?

I am looking for some advice and academic suggestions. I am about 23 years old, have a BBA in accounting/intl business and will have completed my last CPA exam in about 2 months. Currently i work in Public accounting as an auditor. What do you guys think would be a better career step next? I am thinking about starting part-time MBA (either at Kellogg-northwestern or Univ or Chicago). if i do that, what concentration sounds good at this point in time and about 4-5years down the road. I would like to do something more global kind. Would MBA in finance be a better choice than one on strategic mgmt ? or should i stick with accounting for now and also go with a CFA designation as well? i do plan on getting a CA or ACCA from UK to boost my certification tally. I do see myself working may be in Asia or Middle East in about 5-6 years so keep that in mind. Pls dont mind answering if you dont have anything educational to so (unless you want free points).. red dragon(and others) i forgot to mention CISA, which is also on my list. I am freaky(as in good) with computers which makes me interested in it. The reason that MBA came in my mind is bec i want more opportunities, more things to do at work to be accountable for, something that i can do to prove myself , and i am thinking that MBA can be something of that sort. Answer: If you want to stay in your field, CPA is number one. Also CMA & CFA can be beneficial to you. There's also CIA (Certified INternal Auditor) which is very strong. I do not recommend you take MBA if you want to stay in your field because it will not strengthen your current Accounting Skills. I am doing MBA currently and all you get is bits & pieces of everything. MBA is good for you if you want to change your field, it will help you get a job in another field but most probably will not help you get a better job in the same field.

Is the MBA worth all the work experience and hard work?

Im divided between doing an MBA in Finance and getting into the Actuarial Science classes and getting myself a certification on Actuarial Science. My interest is in investment and portfolio management, fund management, interest and financial risk hedging, business strategy and strategic planning in relation to global climate change. Id like to know the breadth of options that will available for me if I do an MBA in Finance and compare that with the likes of ACCA, CIMA, and ASB.
Answer: MBA won't help you at all in this... MBA will help only if your becoming a manager, so think about it only if your going into a managerial position. If you are interested in investment and portfolio management, fund management, interest and financial risk hedging...etc consider the CFA and the CMA... CFA ( charted Financial Analyst) would suite you more than CMA.

Anyone else get demotivated when getting an answer wrong?

I consider myself an intelligent guy and am currently self-studying ACCA, which is a global accountany body. However, when I was answeing some of the quick quiz questions at the end of the chapter, I got one of them wrong... and I honestly couldnt see why I did either, because the answer was provided in the chapter itself anyway. Are there others out there who, when studying, understand what its saying no problem, and then come to find when answering a question on it you dont get it right...? Just find it annoying ^^

What are the professional degree in Finance & Accounting that is accepted globally?

I want to pursue a global career in Finance & Accounting. I already have a BBA degree in Finance from local University. Its not good enough.I hard there are some opportunities like ACCA, CFA that gives better competence and winning edge in case of getting JOB In internationally reputed organization. Is there any other professional degree that can be pursued from any country? Where can i find relevant information about it? Any Web address? Please let me know.
Answer: You are right that local degrees really don't help you move internationally.. I would really say the ACCA is best for that... I am a professional ACCA-based adviser - and I know many great programs, but the best that I know of is that of the London School of Business and Finance. They offer full ACCA courses, and can allow you to take the whole program in 2.5 years (assuming no exemptions by the ACCA). They also have some of the highest pass rates in the industry, and are a Gold-level ACCA Tuition Partner. The reason I think that this is the best for you is that the LSBF school offers really great ways to continue your education after the ACCA studies... LSBF allows you to take MBA/Msc after your ACCA study. Scope of CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)?

After this global financial crisis, regulation, unemployment etc, Is doing CFA worthwhile? I am 6 months away from completeing my ACCA .I am interested in investment banking/commodities. I can go anywhere for job search (where ever the jobs will be) So is doing CFA worthwhile? PS I am aware experience will matter, but does it give any edge ?
Answer: Sure it gives an edge!! What do you want to do in IB/commodities? To be a trader you dont really need a CFA. To work in Risk you need one. In general it's good to have one when you want to work in IB. Also, as you said, given the bad job market, it will give you an edge.

What would my salary be holding multiple degrees?

Keeping aside the current global recession, what would my starting salary in the States be? My qualifications include: 1. Diploma in Management Studies (Singapore Institute of Management) 2. Answer: Your starting salary would depend on which job you could get (which could be highly dependent on job experience) and which city you would live in, but you could reasonably expect a starting salary ranging between $60,000 and $150,000. It could also depend on which school issued the MBA, since salaries are usually based on the highest degree earned, not whether you have multiple degrees. Looks a little like you have spent far too much time in School and not enough time getting work experience.

Which is better ACCA, OR ACA(via ICAEW, UK) ?

I stay in India, and through research i have found that ICAI(India) and ICAEW(UK) have mutual arrangements for reciprocal membership. I also know that ACCA has global presence, and is a lot more easier(for me), considering i will avail of significant exemptions - being a CIMA student. Both of these are accountancy bodies in their respective countries, if you didnt know. Currently work experience can be arranged for only 49 students via tata, in India. SO will you be kind enough voice your opinion regarding - which body is more respected among prospective employers; and after completing which qualification, can i expect a better pay? Comment on issues related to this matter. N.B.: one reason why i am not keen on studying CA(Indian), although a prestigous qualification in India, is because i prefer UK education to Indian. I was a CBSE(Indian Board) student for 12 years.

How can i make my small sole-ownership millinery business global?

I have been a milliner since the early 80s. at the time i was preparing to write my ACCA exams for the 3rd time and got pregnant with my first child. My mother in law who had received her millinery degree from the city and guilds after schooling in england stayed with my husband and i while i was pregnant and got me into the practice. i eventually caught up and took over the business and expanded it as far as i could going to local fashion shows and working with local designers when the opportunity arose. However i feel that i can be internationally competitive if i just put my foot out there but i have no ideas for a good platform to launch my business globally bearing in mind that my business is pretty small scale hence little capital to just go to another country and set up shop. Does anyone have any ideas for how I can launch my international career? acca f4 wrong variant?

i was supposed to enter for the english variant and i just noticed that im entered for the global variant. i dont see any options for changing so late. can anyone guide me on the differences between the two so i can appropriately study? thanks
Answer: I have done the Global Variant through self study... As far as i know, Global version is easier than English. and it's easier to study by yourself. It's actually self explanatory, english variant focuses on the english laws and global on the international laws(like incoterms etc.) If you still want to go ahead with English Variant, you have to write a request for change of variant to students@accaglobal.com, before 8th November, mentioning your name and student id. I'm not sure whether you are going to be charged extra, but you can always confirm with the acca support. Hope that helped!

Is MBA worth the hard work and work experience??

Im divided between doing an MBA in Finance and getting into the Actuarial Science classes and getting myself a certification on Actuarial Science. My interest is in investment and portfolio management, fund management, interest and financial risk hedging, business strategy and strategic planning in relation to global climate change. Id like to know the breadth of options that will available for me if I do an MBA in Finance and compare that with the likes of ACCA, CIMA, and ASB.
Answer: An MBA is a lot easier than becoming an actuary -- A LOT EASIER. An MBA from a top school will put you in the same salary range as becoming an actuary. It will also give you a lot more options, as you will not be limited to finance and insurance. An MBA from an unranked school will do very little for you. A third alternative is to get the CFA designation.

Hello I am a student in Pakistan and currently doing my IGCSE.I am done with 3 of the subjects(got all As) and will do other 5 in a month or so.And expecting all As and maybe A+(that is 90% above) and even one distinction.I took Pakistan studies(History and geography),Islamiat(Religious studies) and Urdu(as second language)..Now i am going to give Economics, Business studies, Accounting, Maths and English as second language. I have done two month internship with a business in over viewing Accounts and other small logistic work. So yeah thats all about what i have done. But what worries me is the future.!!!!! First thing first..I am thinking bout going to a summer school this summer.I am not sure whether is would be beneficial.I noe it will be but whta matter is again and in terms of money.Why paying $3000 for a programme for a week or so rather thn saving it up for future for a full time uni.?
